Streaming to TSReader with Powervu plugin...

  • I had some free time today, so I played with my old copy of TSReader. I installed the latest powervu plugin (1.9) and I verified it is possible to stream from my alien 2 to TSReader (must enable include ecm) and it decrypts and plays ok. Next step would be to stream it back to the receiver...

Tested with OpenSpa 4. BUT!!! It will not work with the modded pti.ko - you must use the original pti.ko from the image.

    Basic steps:
Install TSReader (Pro version, lite version limits to 1 minute play/record)
    Download powervu mdplugin (http://linuxsat-support.com/showthread.php?t=82551&goto=newpost)
Extract file to MDPlugins directory of TSReader.
Download a softcam.key file with latest powervu keys and also put in MDPlugins folder
Get url for stream of desired channel. Easiest way is to use openwebif to stream the channel and look at the .m3u file to get the correct url.
From openwebif under settings ->Customize, make sure "Include ECM in http streams" is checked.
Start TSReader and select HTTP source and enter url.
In Tsreader under plugins open monitor for powervu plugin
In TSreader select program from lefthand column.
(You should then see data in the plugin monitor.)
From Playback menu select vlc -> play. (First time you will have to setup where your vlc is installed)
Select Audio and video pids and then stream...

  • File -> Select Source -> HTTP.dll -> OK
    File -> Restart Source -> enter URL -> http://192.168.0.40:8001/1:0:1:1F86:...:820000:0:0:0:

Basic steps to playback on receiver:

In TSReader -> Playback -> VLC -> Settings (or ALT+v)
Under VLC Configurations, press "+" button to empty config.
Enter some Description - something like "re-stream"
    For Command enter:

    Code
    <IP> :sout=#http{mux=ts,dst=:4321/} :sout-all :sout-keep

Using Dreamobox Edit, create new TV Bouquet.
Select new bouquet and right-click in TV User Bouquet details and select "IPTV and other streaming services" -> Add
Select Stream Type "DVB/TS" and enter some description.
    in URL add:

    Code
    http://<ip-address-of-pc>:4321/

in "Service Type" enter 1 - other fields can be blank
    Select "add"
upload new settings to your receiver

Now in TSReader, open URL and select program, then Playback -> VLC -> re-stream (or whatever you named your vlc config)
Then on receiver select your new IPTV stream you created with Dreambox Edit

  • Thx for your answer.
I tried everything....every FTA channel works perfect, but when I try i.e. BW-TV it alywas shows "unable to connect"
I tried other crypted channels, too (like Sky Germany)....works fine.
    Only PowerVU does not work.
    Always unable to connect.
    All my streams look like
    http://192.168.0.40:8001/1:0:1:9:1:9:5A0000:0:0:0:

Does my Gigablue HD Quad Plus (with Open ATV Image) not work with TSReader ?

Edited once, last by 0D04 ().

  • Not sure about your receiver and I have not tested with OpenATV yet.

I had a problem specific to a driver for the Alien 2 (pti.ko) where it would not send the ECM PIDs. When you try Sky Germany, is it sending the ECM PID also, or just the audio/video PIDs?

Have you tried disabling your internal cam(s) first? (oscam, cccam, etc)

Are you able to connect to the powervu stream with VLC?

Also try tuning the channel on the receiver first to make sure it can tune the channel (is on the right sat, etc..)

  • Thx for the reply.
Yes, now I found that some PowerVU Streams connect, but most streams do not connect.
    I.e. AFN Pacific connects.
    But it does not decrypt.
    It looks like this :

Do you have newest sofcam file ???
Hard to find a working keyfile :(

  • Can't test tonight - box is being used... :)

    What fails with re-stream??

Does VLC open? Did you check in Tools -> Media Information -> statistics and see if VLC is receiving any data?

From a command prompt try "netstat -anp tcp" and verify there is an entry "TCP 0.0.0.0:4312 ... LISTENING"

  • Hi,

I made all you wrote and added the stream on my Gigablue receiver, but nothing happens.
    I added http://127.0.0.1:1234:sout=#http{mux=ts,dst=:4321/} :sout-all :sout-keep on Playback => VLC => Settings
    as described.
And when I added the stream on my box with IP address from my computer, with port 321, nothing happens :)

  • It needs to be entered exactly how I wrote - just cut and paste:

    Code
    <IP> :sout=#http{mux=ts,dst=:4321/} :sout-all :sout-keep

Do not replace the <IP> part, and make sure there is a space between "<IP>" and ":sout"
You wrote port 321 or 4321?

  • nice posting sir, Yesterday I tried along day with no result, if you don't mind would you like to show us the VLC player display, and what kind of channel that you tried? latest news from some groups said that Intelsat 19's channel migrated to other satellite (e.g. Korea Sat 5), Thanks..keep and nice trying....

  • Hi again,

    I'm really happy.
    With this entry :

    Code
    <IP> :sout=#http{mux=ts,dst=:4321/} :sout-all :sout-keep

streaming back to my box works.

    With this entry :

    Code
    <IP> #duplicate{dst=std{access=http,mux=ts,dst=:8902/tv.asf},dst=display}

I can watch the channel with VLC media player, streaming does not work.

    One last question:
on my box, the picture and audio is not synchronous.
The audio is a little bit faster than the picture.
    Can I shift the audo i.e. 1/4 second ????

  • you can stream to any device with that chain command in vlc

setup tsreader vlc setting like in pic below
tsreader will auto find vlc on 1234
restart tsreader for change to take
    now click playback/vlc/play
the stream will now play in vlc

to get the stream to restream

    start vlc go to
Tools -> Preferences -> All -> Interfaces -> Main Interfaces -> Select Web -> save

    now go to

Tools -> Preferences -> All -> Stream output

    in the box

    Default Stream Output Chain

    Code
    #duplicate{dst=std{access=http,mux=ts,dst=:8902/tv.flv},dst=display}

    save
restart vlc for change to take

thats tsreader and vlc set up

    on your enigma2 box
    ftp to
    /etc/enigma2/playlist.e2pls

edit playlist.e2pls and paste this in

change the red bit to your pc ip address

    Code
    4097:0:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:http%3a//[COLOR='#FF0000']192.168.1.4[/COLOR]%3a8902/tv.flv: vlc

    save

go to the mediaplayer plugin on your box
switch to playlist and select vlc
and it will restream to your box

  • If you just change second one to:

    Code
    <IP> #duplicate{dst=std{access=http,mux=ts,dst=:[COLOR='#FF0000']4321/[/COLOR]},dst=display}

Then you can use the same entry on your box....

There are lots of options for vlc to adjust audio, but maybe the easiest thing to try first is to increase the buffer. Got to Preferences -> select show settings all (bottom left) -> select Input /Codecs on the left -> on the right, scroll down and set Network caching (ms) to something like 2500, or higher. YOu can play with different values to see if you get better results...

  • another way

    start your stream in tsreader
then setup vlc as in picture in post 17 above
    playback/vlc/settings
then click playback/vlc/play to open the stream in vlc

once the stream starts in vlc
    click
    media/open network stream
    in the url box put
    http://127.0.0.1:1234
at the bottom next to play click the small black arrow
    then click convert
    check dump raw input
    click browse
navigate via your network to your satbox hdd/movie folder
then give the file a name like mystream.mp4
    save
    now click start
vlc will now go black (leave vlc running dont shut it down)
find the stream on your satbox hdd
    watch it as it streams/records

    streams play perfect
