alright everyone just a little info on setting up a no ip account i am at the bit where i have to select my domain name im following this guide http://linuxsat-support.com/showthread.php?t=4

C: anyone.dyndns.org

does the C: need to be included or do i just select the anyone.dyndns.org and replace to what i would like it to be

C: is the start of configuring a C line, it has nothing to do with setting up a dynamic hostname.. Don`t include the C: in your hostname on the no-ip site..

and does need to be in 2 parts and the org at end cheers for reply

i am at the part where its asking me for domain name to be added i have put 1 word in for domain and its telling me invalid domain name use a single word no spaces or periods which i have done

1ist step no ip at bit where i am registering my domain i put in 1 word and there is no dropdown box

its ok i seem to have a domain i clicked on hosts tab at top of no ip page and its showing me a host it hase the name i selected follwed by .ddns.net i can assure you i never set this up or did i lol

i have this bit sorted now thanks for all advice only problem i have is that in the tut C: anyone.{dyndns.org} mines is username.ddns.net
