vu solo red light

My mate has just dropped his box off which i was gonna flash for him but i didnt even get that far i just switched it on without the usb in and its just got a red light .i fixed my own vu with the capasitor but cant really find any with this fault .I dont think is a clone cos i flashed it a few years ago with blackhole .i ve attached a couple of pics just in case .

I have already tried uploading the bootloader and new image its seems dead the ethernet light does not even flash .Im thinking its a hardwear ie capasitor problem but not sure which one it is i need to change i will have to keep digging
