  • Using laptop internet with Spiderbox




    This is a guide for Vista to connect to the internet using your laptop wifi or 3G internet connection.


    Have Spiderbox network connection on auto.


    Connect laptop and spiderbox with crossed ethernet cable.


    In Vista go to Network and Sharing Centre.


    Under Sharing and Discovery have the following entries:
    Network discovery On
    File Sharing On
    Public folder sharing On (read only)
    Printer sharing Off
    Password protected sharing Off
    Media sharing Off


    Go to network connections.
    Right click the local area connection and go to properties.
    Under the networking tab click properties for Protocol TCP/IPv4
    Fill in "Use the following IP" (eg IP 192.168.0.24 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0)
    Click OK


    Go back to network connections.
    Right click on Lan card or Dongle using internet connection.
    Click sharing tab and enable both options to share.
    Click OK


    Connect to internet and your Spiderbox can now use connection.
