ariva combo 100@link help with upgrade by usb

hi guys i need help trying to upload firmware with usb to ariva combo 100@links . tried 5 different usb sticks including 2 new ones but it keeps saying no storage or just a big X. done this many times on other combos with no problems , also i cant upgrade from pc as i only have a mac. any help would be great.
