When i run ./simplebuild menu i get a few screens of garbage to which i tried enter then 2 more screns of shit
but np menu...TIA -
Which linux distribution are you using?
What is the output from./simplebuild debinstall?
What terminal are you using?Sent from my KFTT using Forum Fiend v1.3.3.

Was on tablet earlier and couldn't see image. That "shit" is escape codes which are there to format the screen for the menu. Your terminal is not recognizing them correctly.

Winscp is only a basic terminal client and should not be used for anything but entering basic commands. It is better to use a full terminal emulator like PuTTY. http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/

PS.. this was working perfect up to a few months ago eg..sept -
So either your putty config got changed, or your terminal settings in ubuntu have been altered.
For putty, try creating a new session. (Although I am not sure what winscp does when launching putty???)
In the terminal you can try typing "reset" before running simplebuild.
Also type
and it should respond:

Just an update lads it was caused by a dodgy version of Putty.
