With added improvements and adjustments to the plugin, featuring a new interface and a screen that keeps up with modern development. It also extends my previous release, which addressed some issues. Today, I present to you the new version 1.3.2, with a colorful and vibrant interface. It has been tested on both Python 2 and Python 3, as well as on various images, without encountering any problems.

The code has been reviewed and improved to handle different types of hard drives.

It has been successfully tested on various devices.

Compatible with both Python 2 and Python 3.

Very important note regarding USB Flash:

Most regular USB flash drives don’t have a temperature sensor, so even if you try smartctl, you won’t get any value.

Some modern types (especially NVMe over USB or high-end flash drives) may support temperature reporting.

Changes made:

• Added a function for automatic detection of all connected storage devices (SATA, SSD, NVMe).

• Added a function to automatically determine the device type: HDD, SSD, NVMe.

• Modified a function to use auto-detection with device ordering: SATA first, then NVMe.

• Implemented automatic naming: HDD1, HDD2, SSD1, SSD2, NVMe1, NVMe2.

• Added support for mixing different types of drives.

• Improved a function to display the first two detected devices with proper colors and warnings.

The script now:

• Automatically detects hard drives (sda, sdb).

• Identifies the type of each drive (HDD1, HDD2).

• Displays the actual temperatures.

There is an important point I forgot to mention: after replacing the plugin.py file, you must delete any *.pyo files (for Dream images) or *.pyc files (for open-source images). After that, restart your receiver.

i want you to test file which i uploaded today morning.

Please replace the file again, delete the mentioned files as explained earlier, then restart and report back.

The code has been reviewed and several improvements have been added:

• Plugin interface improvements

• The plugin now automatically detects the device resolution and selects the best option.

• Button control (Toggle Key):

  • Old: Switching between skins was possible only with the Yellow button.

  • New: A toggle_key variable has been introduced, which is recognized from the settings or the script itself → allowing it to be changed later.

• Version number: The plugin now takes the version number from a single place to avoid mistakes.

  • Old: The version was hard-coded inside the script.

Now we’ve moved to version 4.3, fully compatible with Python 2 and Python 3.

What’s new in this release:

🔹 Multiple Skins + Save User Choice

• The plugin now comes with two skins:

  • Fhd1 → resolution 900×680, suitable for smaller screens or compact menus.

  • Fhd2 → resolution 1920×1080 (Full HD) with a different layout for buttons and backgrounds.

• The user can switch between them via the Menu button.

• Once changed, the plugin remembers your choice, so even after restarting the device or reopening the plugin, the selected skin stays active.

🔹 Safer XML File Management & Updates

• Main files handled by the plugin:

  • satellites.xml

  • terrestrial.xml

  • cables.xml

• Before replacing any file, the plugin creates a backup with the .bak extension, so you can easily restore it if something goes wrong.

• Automatic cleanup of older backup files to save space.

• Safer writing process: new file is written in two steps (download → rename) to avoid corruption if power or internet drops.

• If the update script is missing, the plugin checks multiple alternative paths. If not found, it shows a clear warning.

🔹 UI & Visual Improvements

• Cleaner, more polished interface with better colors and backgrounds.

• Optimized to look good on both large and small screens.

🔹 Organized Logging

• Every action is logged: update, removal, skin change, file error, etc.

• Logs are stored in /tmp/tssateditor.log with date and time stamps, making debugging easier.

• Includes safe close protection: prevents crashes if the plugin is closed multiple times quickly.

• Very useful for tracking what happened in the background or when sending bug reports to the developer.

For the internal one, the default should be hdd.

For the second hard drive, name it hdd2.

Now version 1.2.3

The new update in the plugin: the skin frames have been modified, and it now includes two skins, so each user can choose the design they prefer, either FHD1 or FHD2.

The selection is made using the yellow button.

Also, the name and function of the yellow button have been changed to switch skin instead of return to default.

The chosen skin will be saved.

Tested on Marlin image and OpenATV, meaning it works with Py2 & Py3.

A few days ago, I hadn't dealt with this version, and when I saw it, I was impressed by the intelligence of the late developer and creator, Mahmoud Farag (may God have mercy on him and reward him with all the best for his good work) – this plugin is a masterpiece for all satellite enthusiasts. Without effort and with a single button press, it updates the satellite and digital terrestrial broadcasting files. I don't know how I missed this plugin.

Therefore, while practicing my hobby, keeping in mind that I'm not a professional programmer but an amateur, I decided to deal with this plugin and re-adjusted it to be compatible with both Python 2 and Python 3,

Anyway, thank God, with His help, I succeeded, and this is version 4.1.

It has been tested on Dream and Vu+ and I tested it on the Merlin image and several versions of the OpenATV image – these two images are supposed to ensure that what works on them should work on the rest of the images.

Features of the New Version:

* The new version is safer, more flexible, more aesthetically pleasing, and compatible with Py2 and Py3.

* It supports event logging and automatic backups.

* With a modern, easily interactive user interface.

* Another feature is that the files are downloaded to the folder /etc/enigma2 and I made the plugin copy them to the following folder: /etc/tuxbox.

* It is also possible to modify any frequency or satellite by deletion, addition, or modification.

Recently, I was looking for a plugin that could display the hard disk temperature, since high temperature is one of the most critical factors that can damage HDDs. As I couldn’t find any plugin that provided this feature, I decided to develop one myself, I successfully created the plugin, and it works seamlessly with both Python 2 and Python 3. I have tested it on Dreambox and Vu+ receivers without encountering any issues. I named the   plugin

Main Features:

• Display CPU and internal/external HDD temperature.
• Accurate readings: attempts to read temperature from multiple sources (sysfs for CPU, smartctl for HDD).
• Dynamic colors changing with temperature levels (Green → Yellow → Red).

• Visual alert: Popup + warning bar at the top of the screen.

Temp to Color Function:

• Lightweight performance without slowing down the device.
• Low temperature → Light Green (Good condition).

• Error or no data → White (Default).

New Gradient Mapping:

• Blue → Cyan (0–20%): Low temperatures.
• Cyan → Green (20–40%): Moderate temperatures.
• Green → Yellow (40–60%): Warm temperatures.
• Yellow → Orange (60–80%): High temperatures.
• Orange → Red (80–100%): Very high temperatures.

This gradient better matches human perception of temperature: blue is associated with cold, and red with heat.
