I hope this helps someone has translated from polish to english

cheers buddy ... do you know much about the box . i have 2 or 3 arivas and they are fairly reliable but the android and 4k feature of this box has made me have a second look at it as i was thinking of purchasing a box for the sitting room and moving my present stb to the kitchen .

Lines work good on it, I didn't have any issue of disconnecting every 3 4 seconds. Better off paying extra few bob for Mars box from linuxsatellite.com they put ki to shame. Best hybrid box for price I feel.

when you say hybrid box do you mean it has a dvbt2 and a dvbs2 tuners and an Android Opetating system aswell and i can run cccam on it and do you mean " world of satellite co.uk " shop as i would like to support the shop connected with this forum if possible or is linuxsatellite.com a different place altogether, and do you or HONCHO have links to these boxes i.e Mars or U4 Quad so i can check them out at the shop ....i want to watch the saorview chns and the satellite chns and also have Android on it to run Kodi etc aswell and run cccam without any hitches....thanks

Looks nice and kodi working well but where i can find Oscam?

Maybe there is patch firmware somewhere like in the old Ariva boxes but you would want to be sure of your source in case the box ended up " bricked "....surely a box like this should have a means of installing softcams as it is so new on the market .

gg69me, Small world from Limerick too☺.

They are good box for money and Android side plays streams without issue. Depending on your dish the tuners can be a hit and miss. I'm using shared dish in apartment complex the some channels very low siginal compared to other boxes. But normal sky dish you will have no problems.

Oscam runs good in them too.

Sounds Good , glad to get feedback from someone who has one and a fellow county man " LUIMNEACH ABU "...great value for money then as you would hardly get a stand alone Android box for that kind of money....how is cccam on it , i read on another website that it keeps disconnecting every 3 or 4 seconds .

These boxes are extremely cheap but are they any good for this price ,77 dollars for the K1 plus . havent ppriced the K2 PRO yet but heard its about 90 , wonder if any of our members have one and what do they think....

    https://www.alibaba.com/produc…=a2700.7724857.0.0.CI1btb

Kii pro android dvbs2 dvbt2 same as k1 plus, but with 2G ram 16G rom, bluetooth 4, dual band wifi, ac

These boxes look pretty good but are they ?....the K1 PLUS sells for 77 dollars which dosent fill me with confidence as its so cheap , havent priced the other one yet....has anyone bought one of these boxes on this forum i wonder , and what was the verdict on it ...interested in their feedback..

OK ta for reply ... i cant believe there isnt a decent box on the market that does dvdt2 and dvbs2 and android and also is enigma 2 / linux based . FERGUSON brought out a combo box with Android and 4k but i cant seem to get information if it is linux / enigma2 based aswell or not and if softcams can be ran on it without patching the firmware and even if such a patch exists...i will keep reading this forum i guess...ta again

    Kodi mean?

i was thinking of buying the edison os mini as a second linu x box and then i decided to see if i could get a combo box with a built in android operating system as i have a separate android box at the moment to the xpeed lx2 i have and i have to keep switching from one to the other so i thought it would be handy to have a combo box with android built in also
. the ferguson mentioned above has the combo tuners and android but i dont think it is linux / enigma 2 based but i could be wrong ....are there any other boxes out there with a combination of dvbs2 and dvbt2 and android and enigma 2/linux or does such a box even exist....

i am looking for a combo box with android and enigma 2 / linux based....i know ferguson have a new 4k box out with android and combo tuners but dont think its enigma 2 based....must look into it a bit more , maybe somebody on here knows more about them.....thanks anyway

Doesn't look good for your ariva to be honest.
I'd have tried exactly what you've done.
Maybe time to open the wallet.
    Or get the multimeter out

    Thanks Anyway Codar

it was worth a try , i have got my moneysworth out of that box anyway . i had no luck with the Erom Upgrade Tool but here is a direct Translation using Google Translate for others who may need to use it , it may be of help...

Make of it what you will as the translation is a bit off but if you grasp the bigger picture from the instructions it might to be useful as a guide to someone .....BEST OF LUCK...

Let me know how you get on.
I can have a go for you if your unsuccessful or haven't the right cable (still passing through your town twice a week)
P.M. me if you need assistance.

Thanks Codar but have a read of this first . The rs232 cable i used cured an "ASH " problem on an Ariva box before so i presume its ok , these are the steps i took .

i downloaded both files to my desktop and ran the erom upgrade tool 2.0.0c 2009-05-22
i left the settings alone i.e

    PORT = COM1
    Bits Rate = 115200
    Parity = Even

    Operate Mode = Upgrade

i then entered the abs file from my desktop that i downloaded i.e " A250Combo 20151012 v1.27B9 ABS " the file size was 8.00 mb into the section that says " Browse " beside it .
i ticked the box to include Bootloader . ( not sure if this was right or wrong but tried it ticked and unticked but with no success )

i then clicked " Next " and when the " synchronising STBs...Please reset target " sign came up on the next screen i powered off and on the box using the rocker switch at the back but nothing happened , the screen just stayed as it was with no kick out of the box or no information changing on the screen apart from the " synchronising STBs...Please reset target " still on the screen .

i was wondering if i have the right settings inputed as i didnt change anything from what was on the original settings , i also tried different abs files with the same result and even tried changing the PORT settings to different ones like COM2 and COM3 etc but with no success . i think the motherboard of the box could be knackered but you would have a better idea if this is the case than i would .....
i went through the process step by step so that you might spot what if anything i done wrong and it might also be a help to others as i couldnt find instructions anywhere in English as to the steps involved and what settings to be entered etc , there was german instructions alright but i couldnt find english ones anywhere , a step by step guide in English if anyone had the patience to write it out or if there is a link to it somewhere would be great in this section but in the meantime If you can see what i might have done wrong let me know or maybe i should just give up the ghost at this stage ,...thanks again .

    Thanks Codar ,
i will give this a go , i have nothing to lose anyway..top man.. and thanks to the other guys that responded....

Thanks i have RS232 cable . i am getting nothing on the box at the moment not even the " ASH " message , no lights , nothing, it wont power up but i will give this a go ...do i upload the top file first and then the bottom file or what is the process..thanks

    Hi
i have a couple of ferguson Ariva boxes and they have served me well over the years , however when i got up the other morning my Ariva 250 wasnt working . i mean it was completely dead , not a dicky bird out of it , no lights , nothing . i switched it on and off at the back , no joy , checked the fuse in the plug and that was fine so i figured that there might be a small internal fuse in the box so i carefully opened the box to have a look . checked the live and nuetral wire with a multimeter to make sure i had power and i had my 230 volts , spotted a small fuse on the circuit board and checked this aswell without disturbing anything and this was fine so basically thats as much as i know about these things and as i am not an electronics genius i carefully put the cover back on and left it be so i am wondering if anybody has any idea of what could be wrong and can it be fixed or is it time to send the box to the set top box graveyard and give up on it.... any advice would be appreciated . thanks
