  • OPENBOX V8S Latest Firmware...

    Hi can anyone tell me the latest firmware for the openbox v8s as of today 14 June 2016 .
    i have installed the one thats available through the network menus and updated channell lists etc but i notice alot of the iptv chns dont work but YOUPORN hasnt worked since i bought it so i am wondering if i have the latest firmware or not...thanks in advance

  • Openbox v8s .... Sound /audio problem .

    Hi there
    the brother got an openbox V8S at the weekend and although for a cheap box it does the trick there is one annoying problem , the sound sometimes gets distorted / muffled . i have set it up in my house to see if i can figure out whats up with it as it dosent happen all the time . sometimes if you change a channel especially the *** ones the sound is muffled and distorted and the only way to get the sound clear is to reboot the box . i have looked at the audio settings but nothing seems to work bar rebooting the box . the box is brand new . Any Ideas what the problem is and how to fix it and has anyone else had this problem ...thanks

    Can i just install the update above or do i have to install all the previous updates one by one in order to get everything working as i am getting the " ERROR ADDON " message on lots of streams , i get the menus up and the submenus and the thumbnails and categories etc but thats it , then get the ERROR ADDON message...or is there something else i am doing wrong .

    OK , so thats the difference , good man , definitely worth a look then , i am in two minds whether to get a wetek with a terrestrial tuner and a satellite tuner if that is possible or just get a better android box than the one i have already ,i have a sumvision cyclone 2 and its a good little box but prone to completely freezing to the extreme that i have to reboot the box , this happens only if i dont use it for a while and then switch over to it from my enigma 2 box so i suppose its not the end of the world to have to reboot it every so often ....thanks again for your reply though ...i see you have a nVIDIA shield , i bet that box is the business , anyway thanks again bud .

    what is the difference between the M8S and the M8S+ , What does the + version do that the M8S dosent.....thinking of getting one of these M8S boxes but then heard of the + version .

    i will try and get it working and see what happens , maybe G-ogi or Robijay know more , its trial and error with me just to get it going ,....thanks for the link to the plugin , i would never have found it .

    Hi i have an 8 channel DVR and a separate IP Camera on my home network . Is there a plugin that i can use to view these on my lx2 . i am running the latest openvix image
    (035 ) if ican remember correctly . ideally i would like to be able to view both systems but the DVR would be the main one if possible....ta

  • Build 035 openvix on lx2 and linuxsat-support Addons Plugin

    Hi i flashed a new image on my lx2 , it was build 032 and then updated tthe software to the latest version at the moment i.e build 035
    is it ok to install the linuxsat-support Addons plugin to this image and if so which version .
    i take it i ftp it to the temp folder and install from there ...thanks

    Thanks for all the good advice about other boxes but i was hoping to get a bit of info about this box thats why i put it in the openbox section originally but judging by the feedback , i would say nobody has this box or possibly never even knew it existed which makes me think it probably isnt that popular and i will probably end up telling my buddy to steer clear of it and go for one of the boxes mentioned above....thanks again ....

    but he had a look at my boxes and reckons they are too complicated with the e2 and all that jazz so wants something simple to get the terrestrial and the @@@ channels so he was going to get a v8s but i spotted this and wondered if it was any good for a little bit more money than the v8s as it has the extra tuner ...havent heard anything much on this forum about these boxes which worries me . he might be better stick to the v8s rather than this one then and watch the terrestrial through his normal tv .....thanks anyway

    By now you probably have fixed this but the same thing happenend to my father in laws v5s box so i doubled checked the satellite feed into the box and done a rescan and everything was perfect again including all the @@@ channels .
    The box seemed to have lost the channels but worked fine again after the rescan....give it a lash jack

    Hi all
    A friend of mine is thinking of getting a cheap openbox for 60 or 70 euros , i spotted the normal v8s or f8s or whatever its called as a possibility but then came across the combo version of this model which is the combo v8 with sat and terrestrial tuners .
    Anybody know anything about them whether they are good , bad or a load of rubbish . he is not looking for anything special . i cant find the processor on the specs to see if its the same as the standard v8s satellite reciever or not....
    Should i run a mile from these boxes as i dont see much about them anywhere....thanks
