Because thats what this site recommends

Answering other part of question will be to your advantage. People descrivbe whta their tuners are set to, but do not say what is at the other end.

The Solo 2 has a limitation with the internal loop through. You can loop from B to A, but not A to B. People using internal loopthrough must connect to tuner port B.

Why are you using advanced tuner configuration? Forget the receiver settings for now.

Describe as fully as poissible what is at the other end of your cable/s
In which port is/are the cable/s connected?

The Vu+ tuner works perfectly fine.

The Sundteks run in a semi-closed environment. They are independent of kernel issues of receivers. You can even use them in a PC and almost any receiver, not just Vu machines. If/when you buy another receiver, you can always re-use the tuner. If you sell it, you are likely to get more for it.

With regards to creating bouquets, you can use AutoBouquetsMaker which will do satellite and cable too. You can even combine them.

In ABM, there is an option: Keep all non-ABM bouquets. Turn that off. You must be in expert setup mode.

You cannot use splitters with satellite cables (unless you are using a Unicable LNB). Voltages are sent to the LNB, splitters usually stop these signals going to the LNB. They normally only have one port which allows the power to go through. If you must alternate where the signal goes to, better to use a full isolation switch.

Can you try the following please?

Put Enigma to sleep with "init 4" command
Navigate to your EPG location, and delete EPG.dat
If there is acopy in /etc/enigma2/ delete that too.
    Restart

Disable the xmltv stuff within CrossEPG downloader.
    Double check the settings
    Download again.

There are two method Cross EPG downloader works:-
    1. Download from the satellite. No server is involved. You must have satellite signal to the EPG frequency. This is the OpenTV epg option
    2. Download from the Internet. This is teh xmltv etc. Lately,l the servers that host the EPG data are getting hammered by Kodi devices. The Kodi Developers refused to adapt the code to randomise the downloads. The servers change from time to time.

It is not a good idea to use two sources for the same provider. I.e Do not download from the Inetrnet as well as the satellite. Just use one.

You cannot use a splitter for satellite cable using a normal LNB. Each receiver needs to have an individual cable to an LNB. This is probably why you are having problems.

Please stick to one item per thread. We are discussing AutoBouquetsMaker here, let us deal with EPG later, in another thread. Root cause may be the same, but lets keep things simple.

    Task 1.
Check you can receive signal on the pictured transponder
Menu > Setup > Service Searching > Signal Finder
Change values to what is in picture.
Do you get a lock? Post a picture of it please.

Task 2 (only if you get lock on the trasnponder in task 1)
    Can you enable debug logs.
    Menu > Setup > System > Logs > Settings > Enable debug logs >
Change to yes and restart receiver.
Run AutoBouquetsMaker and then uplaod teh debug log. You will find the debug log in /home/root/logs

I don't think you are using Lraizer's plugin, AutoBouquets E2. I suspect you are using AutoBouquetsMaker instead.

Please confirm that you have set the tuner as: simple, single 28.2.
In AutoBouquetsMaker, which providers have you enabled?

How many tuner modules have you got? What type of tuners are they?
Do the individual tuners all have signal cable connected? And what is on the other end of each cable?
What is each tuner set/configured as? Please give separate answer for each tuner?
