I have tried init way it did not work.
But i have managed to add ip in config on kodilite.
In the settings folder i folder i found .wgetpath=/usr/bin/fullwget
config.plugins.kodiplug.vlcip=192. xxx.x.x
But still crashes when try play in VLC
Can i minimize VLC on PC or has it got be fully open

I have sorted the fast forward problem by pressing the numbers keys as you said.
Not tried ip address yet.
In telnet is the command excatly as said init4.

Yes i do see the keyboard but all numbers you have to three of four times to get the numbers not the alphabet that is where it sticks.

I should have explained it more detail.
I go in the config in kodilite and try to enter IP address get to 19 after pressing 1 and 9 three times but after that seems stick on letters on the remote

I i open a film in kodilite it plays ok. But if try to fast forward the speed to 2 speed it crashes the box every time.
I have tried using VLC but i can't enter ip address of pc.
I can stream from box to pc no problem.

They have been saying it is due in april for the last three years and switching to dec of that year.
Checked about a month ago they said good news they said they laying the cable and installing plus new box and you can order in the next month or so .
Checked today it's gone from april to dec again.
What is so frustrating i am 120m from box and 400m from the local BT exchange.
Everybody around me can get , Even my two sons who have bought houses 2miles away from me either way can get.
Got in touch with my local council a while back and BT was granting planning permission to install new box in 2012
All sorted now thanks guys it was a lose wire in the socket not taking the signal properly that is why it was coming and going.
It's connecting for a couple of mins and then disconnecting.
No other equipment connected.
In my router it was there with the mac address so i knew it was the right one
Refreshed in router gone again.
Same with the box checked the box green showing link is working next thing light goes out

Connected in router then gone again assigned ip address see if that worked.
Not sure it it's related over the last week or so when starting box from standby the picture on tv the flickers like hell. Put box to standby and on it clears.
Same thing happened just now when trying to connect.
As i said changed everthing including HDMI lead
Shows a solid green led and flashing orange on mine as well.

Box's mac add not showing in router either.
Having trouble connecting to box last night:
Thought it was the image.
Loaded openatv 6 backup by MASTER G.
Flashed OK
When going to network test all OK except IP address.
I am connecting with homeplugs.
Changed them and all cat6 cables .
Can the port on the box be faulty
Two lights on back of box where the port is working ok
The image could be corrupt try another image
