I currently have only 28.2 East showing. I will soon have a second dish pointing at 19.2 East and need to use a separate LNB cable for this. How would I add 192 to my tuner configuration to allow both satellites to work? For example, I could just change the LNB cable but by doing that all the 19.2 channels would show in the 28.2 East folder.

How can I scan 19.2 without mergin the channel list? I am having trouble with the tuner configuration as well as much of the terminology does not make sense to me.

    Thanks for your help.

Either just add the new 19.2 cable to one of the tuners, or you could use a diseqc switch, this allows you to share that input with more than one satellite eg. 28 and 19, you can scan 19.2 and it won't add to your 28.2 channel list as they're seperate satellites, you can add the two satellites in seperate bouquet lists or same list up to you.

I have the hang of editing channel lists using DreamboxEdit, Dreamset and E-Channelizer, but have a question, on 28.2 most ITV channels don't show their regional name unlike BBC1, so I manually renamed them then sent to my box, all sent no problem, check on the box and regional names showing, then go back five minutes later, and they have gone back to ITV, how are the channels renaming themselves? It's only a minor problem, but annoying me.

If it's only loading such an outdated image, it could be that the bootloader needs flashing before you try to put a more recent image on

I think that sounds right, never thought of that, the previous owner had a old Openvix Apollo image on it. How easy is it to update the bootloader?

Well all sorted, flashed a new bootloader then a Openvix image, all loaded, now going to have a play, cheers gents for your help. :)

Thanks for advice guys, I've followed the pdf guide to flashing the Gigablue on the Openvix site, usb fat32, tried two sticks that have worked with other boxes before, loaded Gigablue file to root of usb, and followed instructions, box recognised usb, and starts flashing, couple of minutes later stops flashing, but boxes never reboots to new image. Only Openmips 2.1 has worked.

As for CCcam, I have ftp'ed previously with Vu boxes, using DCC, and a CCcam ipk file to tmp folder, though one I tried first didn't show up once I'd Installed local extensions. If I can only use this image then that's what I will do, but just very strange that none of the other 10 images have worked.

Yes I have a few boxes, but by no means a expert, still learning stuff. Have tried two different usb's, that have successfully worked when flashing my Vu+ boxes, strange as for example just flashed Vix, box doesn't reload once finished flashing, so restarted manually, the Openvix black and white screen appears, but goes no further, so the image must of flashed, but wont load.

Would it be a bad idea to try a Quad Plus image, or would that brick the box?

I just bought a Quad second hand on ebay, switched it on yesterday, it came with Openvix Apollo image on, for some reason I couldn't load new channel list, ftp not working, so decided to try a new image.

Began with latest Openvix 3.2, OpenAtv 5.1, 5.2, Opendroid 5.3, Opennfr 5.0, Openrsi 4.1, 4.5, Openspa 5.0, Openmips 4.2, 4.3, all of these images wouldn't load, flashed ok, got to splash screen ie. OpenATV logo, but wont respond further. The only image I've managed to load successfully is Openmips-2.1-20140224, so a bit confused why all these other images won't work, I used the HD Quad not Quad plus images, as that's the model I've got.

Now just trying to add CCcam to Openmips-2.1-20140224 I take it I can ftp it to tmp folder like any other image?

I've flashed my Dm800 with this image, it's looking good, I've mounted Hdd and Usb, I added picons on to my usb, /media/usb/picon but they don't show on the Metrixhd skin, adjusted menus to add picons, not sure why they're not showing, using MK 400x240 UK (SNP) picons. Also I can't change weather location, input new city, searches but nothing.

Have you tried loading your own channel bouquet using software like DreamBoxedit or DreamSet? You could also download a list from the boxes plugins menu.

i have both my cables going into the tuner b, would i just need to move one of them into tuner a and then how would i get the tuner a set up to allow me to then record and watch a different channel?

    thanks

Yes you want to put one cable into tuner A as well as tuner B, in tuner config if it's just a fixed dish pointing at 28.2, set A & B to simple, single Astra 28E, or you can put tuner B to equal to tuner A, then you should be able to record one channel while watching another, you'll know it works, if when you record a channel, select the channel list, if all other channels are highlighted and not dull, and can zap channels it works.
