    He/They don't want much do they! lol

    Yes it is all possible,

    If you where going to host the card and connect it to your server you would need a second card reader

    You would set the 2nd card (setanta) up as a second [reader] in your Oscam.Server file or from within Oscam WebIf - Using Setanta Configs
    Where your first [reader] is set to Group = 1, the 2nd [reader] would be Group = 2 if you had a 3rd Group = 3 e.t.c

    No i can only speak for sharing through Oscam only as i wouldn't want to mislead, but with each user you assign the Group they can access so therfore
    your cousin and his friends would be assigned Group = 1,2 (which would allow them or any user you set like this to see Group 1 (5ly) and Group 2 (Setanta)

    This will have Setanta setup and being read in Oscam - To share through CCcam someone please ADD

    In answer to your second question!

    Yes, the easiest thing to do would be install Oscam and/or Cccam either manually or with a backup image with those cams already installed!
    Then share from there to your server and allow reshare so you can share out!

    Just bear in mind.....his DM goes down - No sharing for everyone- Changes his image - needs to be set up - Goes on holiday? No Internet e.t.c you get the jist so setting it up on your server probably best!

    Decide how your going to do it.....look for the configs.....give it a try and post back if any problems!

    Next Your Cousin will say he wants USA Tv or something lol

    Hi Gemelli,

    Yeah this box is a Linux Box so will run all the goodies we talk about on here from it!

    'Vix' is the image.....There are Various images out there that will run on this box.....Vix is one of the most common/user friendly...others inc....Black Hole....Black Pole....Vti to name a few
    any will work from this type (linux) reciever!

    Plugins can be added to the box via the Plugin Downloader from within Image or by manually installing ipk files by ftp them to your reciever and manually installing thrugh UI

    You missed our raffle a few months ago we had one for a £5 lol - Shame not sure if winner has commented on the box yet though....but it looks good and we havent heard any major issues with it as yet!

    May not be a like for like alternative but not a bad choice if you decided to go down this route....think its a bit cheaper then the others also!

    Let us know if you get? and what its like!

    I think the majority will say Vu stuff mate.....they are like the VW or receivers....safe and secure with bells and whistles to wet most appetites lol

    Dreamboxes seem to be a good starting point for many dependant on which version

    and the Amiko's seem like the Kia lol Everything the above do just cheaper!

    With regards the Duo2 like Musogeek pointed out to me.....an alternative may be the New Gigablue!

    Your spoilt for choice really which isn't a bad thing so do your research and choose wisely!

    Enjoy!

    Every week people seem to be having problems with these S16's?

    By the looks of them they don't look much different to the Openbox X3 and 5kybox F3's!

    I think people should place there bets there if they need/have to get a Open/5kybox tbh.....better support and less problems to date!

    Well to start with buddy you need to read through the forum.....use the searchbar....search within sections....all the info is here just need to do some digging!

    As you plan to use your receiver as a server you need to choose your image and add Oscam and Cccam!

    Ten Below has put together a nice backup image with all this preinstalled so you may wish to start there....link below (read through Thread...various info and stuff there)

    http://linuxsat-support.com/dm…-ready-mapped-backup.html

    It should be already setup....just put your card in and go from there!

    You will need to read through the forum though buddy and get a greater understanding of how it all works though! but that should get you up and running

    I find most mine are detected when plugged in for viewing anyway!

    It would be dependant on image but

    With most images you should/would have an option to set that would record anything to the path you choose!

    So you may need to set this up prior to recording anything but once done and left it it will record to your destination when required!

    Just ensure USB is formatted Fat32

    I find HDD's are getting cheaper though and its always better to have one inside if you can....i picked up a 500gb for £40 and works sweet!

    Even her in doors hasn't filled it yet!

    Either way it will be Image specific but should be easy enough to sort out!

    Only difference reader wise is noted below from my setup!

    Make sure you change Ports and Passwords from the Default examples!

    [reader]

    label = ***uk
    description = Reader
    protocol = smartreader
    device = 001:003

    mhz = 600
    cardmhz = 600

    if that is the reading given when lsusb is entered in terminal that is where your smargo is located!

    change the following line in [reader] file

    device = 002:002

    to

    device = 001:003

    Restart Oscam and see if it picks up card bud!

    Hi Umy,

    Please take the time to read through our rules....you won't get much help on obtaining a paid C-Line as we don't like/support/advise going down the route you plan! Payservers = No Support from Us!

    Everything you need to know about the Hobby is here mate....But you won't find any info on Payservers or C lines!

    If you plan to join our Hobby of sharing you will need something to share and Build Friendships with people within the Community.

    A lot of us are enthusiasts that like playing with things Satellite and Linux Related! We welcome
    new people to the Hobby but ask that you get in it for the right reasons!

    One would be that you already have a paid subscription via a viewing card and would like to find out more about
    obtaining other Sats and Channels through various ways that are all detailed in this forum!

    Go through the Forum....Obtain a greater understanding of what is going on and plan your route from there!

    If you can save you port settings (VM Router allows you to save your setup)

    Hard Reset either through Router Admin or Reset button on Router (Your Port setting will then be reset....or should be lol)

    Reload your settings or Setup you ports again!

    That should fix it!

    Text or whole page? Zoom in and Out? ctrl + or ctrl -

    if its just text

    On the toolbar in Internet Explorer 7, choose the Page button, and then choose Text Size.

    Choose the text size that you want.

    not a 100% sure on this as i don't use that box or image sorry bro!

    But in general!

    A settings backup - should backup/save any plugins and basic settings from your current image/box

    It may be worth using something like DreamBoxEdit to make a backup of your Channel settings....Download from site > Connect to box and receive current channel settings from box! Then with New Image....Reconnect and send them back to box!

    The problem that may arise is that if you put a different image you may have trouble reloading settings....just something to bear in mind as i havent tried loading settings from one image to a different image!

    Just make a note of everything you have on there just in case! and it may be worth copying your plugins folder and you cam files also!

    Let us know how you get on Bud!

    Read through this Thread mate it should make things a bit clearer?

    http://linuxsat-support.com/ca…6-newbie-cardsharing.html

    Equipment wise you want an Enigma2 box.....have a look at our sponsors site Sat-Shop.co.uk - Sat-Shop.co.uk Online Satellite and Electronics Store from Lavatronics and get a idea of what your budget will get you!
    Anything Enigma2 will be a good start and will give you access to most of the goodies (plugins, epg guides e.t.c) with Amiko Alien machines being new and quite good on Price or the Vu range of you want the 'Daddy' of receivers lol
