    Rafe,

    Are you sorted? or was this in response to Banny's comments?

    Are you getting any channels? If No (Check Sat Feed)

    If you getting FTA not Premium (Check Internet connection)

    If the line says Active when entered and saved and still no joy (check the person that gave you the line)

    Pm me or post (omit dns address) the line here to double check thats ok?

    I would enter line manually in 'manage config files' and restart and see if that works if not its Internet Connection or Line Problem!

    I would doubt it would be a problem with CCcam on box? That's all they do lol! If you try above and still no joy id send box back! But has to be a Line or Internet problem!

    Have you personally tried line from DM500 from your location????

    No mate.....you cant install anything on these boxes as its closed linux!

    You wouldn't need to anyway as i doubt that would be the issue!

    It will be in the Network settings bit on the Menu you will see a reference to Cccam setup and Mgcamd setup! Choose Cccam !

    Then update via Usb or Manually!

    Make sure the line is active/online when finished....if you do it manually think Yellow button is to save!

    You will then see it Active/Online!

    Restart box and you should be sorted....pretty simple these boxes! lol!

    Think its Cccam Plug/Protocol setup!

    Then Update files via usb - Have you edited/looked at the Cccam.cfg file??? (for example if you use word or notepad it can mess file up)

    you could try Cccam Plug Steup > manage config files and enter line manually?

    So you have a dreambox there and it works with that or its been tried on a dreambox somewhere else?

    If a box is connecting from you house/network with the line already and you add a line to another box and its not working one of 2 things?

    entered line wrong on other box
    if your trying to use 2 boxes and duplicate accounts is disbaled at source? (if so disconnect other box and it should work)

    Openboxes are Closed Linux so pretty much for viewing purposes only mate!

    Cccam will already be installed so that isn't your problem.

    Where is the line from?
    Have you set it out in correct format?
    C: ipaddress.or.dyndns.account PortNumber Username Password
    C: linux.sat.info 12345 linux sat

    Have you tried to enter line manually? Go to Manage config files and enter Host > Port > Username > Password in the fields provided?

    I take it you've restarted Box and connected to Internet?

    If your connected and line is active it must be inputed wrong?

    Have a look here and report back

    Older box but principle the same just updated UI

    Its going to be down to choice Annie pick one and give it a try!

    If you want the glory of drag and drop and an editor to edit files then choose Desktop

    If you happy ftp, wnscp files e.t.c the choose server?

    Debian and Ubuntu scripts attached in previous posts

    You will have to choose the path you go down.

    That will get OS installed and/or Oscam Cccam....then just choose configs and tweak!

    But get OS installed and Run autoscripts and post back!

    PS
    Desktop OS - User Interface with programs e.t.c like windows! Users Computer Resources!
    Server OS - Dos like layout, linux commands, remote access ! Uses a lot less, Small in install e.t.c

    Both will do the job, one just easier than the other if not used to remote access and linux commands e.t.c

    Hi Annie,

    Now the fun starts lol!

    Well everything is in the forum just a case of bringing it all together a tweaking!

    Debian or Ubuntu horses for courses! I tried both and prefer Debian but many people will beg to differ!

    Firstly you need to decided server only OS or Desktop OS baring in mind the Desktop OS will be a bit of a drain on your PC dependent on it spec but nothing to much to worry about!
    If you familiar with linux commands and remote access and the like then server OS will be better all round!

    Theres auto scripts/tuts below so just make a choice and dive straight in

    if you get stuck give us a shout but just read through carefully with a clear mind lol!

    Have Fun!

    :mrgmx:

    If its only present for a few seconds its probably a user restarting box!

    Anything more than a few mins and long periods of time someone using line/connection twice mate!

    Should be roughly the same for all openboxes/5kyboxes

    In the UI for CCcam setup

    Host = myhost@anydns.org or IP address
    port = 123456
    user = user1
    pass = pass1

    Use one of the colour buttons (think its yellow to Save/Activate/ok)

    The line should then be present in a window something like c:yourip 12345 e.t.c

    Reboot box and you should be activated!

    Give us a shout if not

    Sorry mate, my Bad!

    If you still got a problem just reflash the original image my link was for a clone but I know Caz put original link
    on a post yesterday/day before!

    Put the original Vu image on it then reinstall image of your choice! If it's a real one you should be ok
    with new builds I'd probably stay away from .191 and .209 as they may not be stable! Vix seem to putting out an image a day at moment
    so they must not be to stable???

    These boxes are the simplest to set up mate!

    In the UI for CCcam setup

    Host = myhost@anydns.org
    port = 123456
    user = user1
    pass = pass1

    You would only need the c:/f:/n: if you were writing the line in an editor to flash to a box via usb but as the x3/f3 have a UI input screen for it you dont need it!

    Hope it helps if you get stuck holla back!

    :mrgmx:

    CantHackIt!

    Just a search in the searchbar....or browsing through the past 24 hours posts would of revealed this mate!

    http://linuxsat-support.com/vu…ew-vu-drivers-clones.html

    From Build .155 (vix) and 1.7.5(BH) basically any of the images released in past week or 2 carries new Vu Drivers and Anti-Clone measures....hence the reason you may be seeing problems!

    Re-Install original VU Image link below (Clone image)

    http://www.resicon.co.uk/VUDUOOriginalImageCLONE.zip

    Then once you have done that put any BH or Vix Image released upto .155 (vix) and 1.7.5(BH)

    BH Good Backup by Mckee
    http://linuxsat-support.com/vu…u-duo-backup-mckee25.html

    Vix Good backup by Myself lol
    http://linuxsat-support.com/vu…p-image-vu-duo-mrgmx.html

    Hopefully that should get you sorted....and sit tight for a fix with new images on Clones!

    PS When reflashed final image disable Auto Updates as they will want to update you onto latest image with Drivers that will crash Duo again!

    Openbox x3 or ***box f3 mate although both are the same just with the front panel different!

    IMO

    To start with the x3/f3 have got faster processors then previous versions so there has been a marked improvement in response times e.t.c

    I haven't used S10 but upgraded from S12 as the x3/f3 have more component attachments on the back!

    The UI is better (just) black BG is niceer then previous...and theres a weather plugin Whoop Whoop!

    In all mate probably the best of the brand so far....only drawback was USB attachment on the front....so if you use a wifi dongle that will take
    that up :(

    EPG isn't good either although i think this is UK 5ky related...the box can do a 7day epg so it says lol!

    If you want a basic box then yeah....but for the extra few pounds a E2 box would be better...more to play with!

    PS:I wouldn't necessarily say there the same.....based on same model but diff UI, faster processor and different design....much like a New Car and a 5 year old one....yes there cars but the newer should be better! In theory anyway's! lol

    and Yes you just add the line through the Cam setup section as per normal!

    Yipeeeeeeee! Glad your sorted!

    :thumbsup:

    Good Job to Andy Ray for persevering and getting you up and running! That's what its all about!!!
