  • cccam works on Openbox but not on VU+ mystery ?

    Hello guys


    I had an Openbox and had entered the cccam details into fields for server, port, username, password... I did this manually with the remote. All works fine.


    I upgraded to VU+ and have tried CCCam 2.3, 2.2 and I cannot get this to work, despite putting the cccam.cfg file in the var/etc folder and running the cccam service.
    In the Cccam Server Info on the VU+, I see the details have been imported just fine "server3.abcd.me 15001 username password: 1" is what it says... but it does not work.


    The very same details work perfectly in the Openbox.


    BTW, I have a newcamd.list file using a different server/user/pass which works fine in the same VU+ box by running the mgcamd service, but that code is for my parent's house, so I have to get this cccam one working.


    Any ideas what may be the problem? It seems the code works, the box works, but not together!

    Hi Inspiral, I am also trying this, two keys with different servers on the same box...
    The line that starts with the # key and has dummy dummy... should that stay as is??

    I have just tried, and it still does not work... I think I know the problem. The newcamd.list file which does not work, does not have these 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 numbers at the end of the string... it ends with the username and password... so presumably the file is not formatted correctly if it does not have those numbers? The one that does end, has those numbers plus lan server1 at the end of the number string.

    ps are are mg_cfg files specific to the model, ie would all vu zero have he same mg cfg file?

    Ah, I think I got it to work by adding CWS_KEEPALIVE = 60 at the start of the key and 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 lan at the end... now it clears fine...
    thanks for the help... though I would love to know what the mg cfg files are, are they generic, the one you sent is much longer than the one I have on my solo2 box.

    I want to use separate keys on the boxes...
    Actually, ideally I would like to use two keys on my own boxes and use one of the keys on my parents box. They live at their own house, so have their own box and I have a newcamd.list file for them, but it did not come with the mg_cfg file. The main thing at the moment is getting their box working with their newcamd.list file... which it does not, probably because there is no mg_cfg file on their box.

    Hi MasterG, thans for the response. Well, I don't know the difference, but I guess N stands for Newcamd...so I guess that since I am using that on my other Solo box...


    I am guessing my problem is i dont have a newcamd.list AND the mg_cfg file in the user/keys folder. On my solo2 box I DO have both these files in the keys folder, and when I copy those two files over to the keys folder on my zero box, it clears fine... This second box cant have the same keys since I am giving it to my parents and it wont be running at the same house.

    The tutorials are above my head, so have to ask.
    I have a newcamd.list file and a cccam.cfg file, and copied the newcamd.list to the user/keys folder on my VU zero.
    I've installed the mgcamd plugin


    I also have a solo 2 box that runs fine and I noticed it has a mg_cfg file with the newcamd.list file. But on my Zero box there is no mg_cfg file... is this other file necessary, can I create it from my newcamd.list file... the basic question is, how do I make the newcamd.list file work?

    Hi, I am intrigued. I have two boxes and two different newcamd.list for each of the two boxes. How would I go about creating a newcamd.list and mg_cfg file which would enable me to have both, and therefore better stability, less freezes?

  • What plugins are you using?

    We need a sticky or a sub-forum with a thread for each of the plugins so they can be discussed and so people can find out what they are before having to install them, fiddle with them for a while before knowing what they do!


    It would be great if somebody who knows a lot about these plugins could start this off!

    Hello guys


    I have been using IP satellite receivers for several years, but am very far from knowing as much as most of you...


    I'd love some clarifications to these questions, within forum rules, of course...


    1/ with my Vu+ zero receiver, recording sky sports 3 cannot be done when viewing sky sports 2. Could it if I had a dish which had multiple transponders? What is the best way to be able to do that without buying another receiver?


    2/ what is the difference between plugins and extensions and addons?


    3/ is there a list of plugins that are available (on OpenVix) with descriptions, perhaps a forum thread for each as with Kodi addons?


    I have spent a lot of time on these forums, but have not found/understood this info.

    Thank you Sayyid, I managed to do a major cleanup and re-organisation of the autobouquetmaker folders and channel orders.
    I hope that when my AutoBouquetMaker does its daily scan, the channels and order I have created will stay as they are...

    Thanks very much for this excellent software. I have one problem, which is that when I do a daily scan of channels, the folders get duplicated, the custom ones stay, but then the update adds another folder for each favourite category, so two news folders, two documentary folders etc...
    Is there any way round that?
