Nice but im using version 10, I have sorted it, I took a chance and ran the automated script of 10's for debian and it pulled off ;)

I have decided start afresh so I have installed ubuntu server and done all upgrades.

Last time I installed proftpd to enable ftp access and such, is this the best way of enabling ftp access (and ultimately SSH), or is there a better or more efficient way in which to enable access from another device?

I know the oscam/cccam auto install script configures them all, but how do you get the script etc on there in the first place?

As far as I am aware, I have everything needed, it has run oscam before and yes everything has 755 permissions.

I renamed the file to oscam and uploaded it to /usr/local/bin and now when I try to run it (oscam -b) I get the following error 'Segmentation fault (core dumped)'

I was having a problem with OSCam and ive noticed I was using x86 64 (is this the 64 bit version) as I had assumed that the 64 bit version would come under x64 and not x86.

If it is does anyway have a copy of an up to date version of the x86 32 bit version?

There is no group and the FTP account details arent there

I am trying to upload some files via ftp

and it won't let me add any files that arent already there as in I can overwrite existing ones with new versions but I can't create any new ones.

Any ideas?

I have checked that the permission of the folder I am trying to upload to = 755

I installed proftpd if this makes a difference.

I have removed all the ones, I feel safe removing. If anyone else can see any other settings I can safely remove, please let me know.

The other question I have is obviously I would have to setup the other reader, but if I did one to use s*y then what would I need to do under the [newcamd] header

Editions made -
Version 1.1 - Removed load balance configs, and oscam.services (its in code tags for now but will be removed when confirmed working without)

I managed to resolve it in the end, might be interesting to compare configs, as I did a lot of fing about my are quite long winded a lot of values can be taken out of mine, which I need to do anyway in order to move them over to my ubuntu server.

In the post above when I said mine was probably something daft, I ddidn't upgrade the version of oscam high enough and I hadn't put the newcam config info in.

Ive just got one job I need to do first then ill make this my next job of the day.

For your needs, id say omnikey - cheaper, easier to setup and 'they' say that it gives faster ecm times.

Have you updated oscam also?

Try adding this provider to oscam - Provider 0500:042800 let me know if this resolves it for bein sport 1?

As most of the info I can see is for y mod and clearing them using keys, your probably best off waiting for someone ese to respond but the provider number above at least gives you something to try.

Think you might be right there, im not 100% either though.

My advice would be to try to fix/resolve the any issues/misconfiguration on your ubuntu server, rather than using the openbox to read it.

If you do opt to take this route, then please advise
What version of ubuntu are you running?
What is the spec of the machine (this shouldnt be causing a problem, but just to be sure).
What local are you running?
Also post your configs from oscam?

Seems a lot to ask but helps to rule out possible issues.

You could of course continue as you planned, up to you, its your setup :)
