If you want to 'tune' your pc up, id suggest running cc cleaner, getting rid of the unecessary files that have built up.
Then if you click on tools -> startup and see whats starting when your pc boots, i usually disable all mine except for anti virus, sound card drivers. your setup will be slightly different. Also delete all but the last restore, in the system restore section.
After that remove any programs you dont want.
Then go to start -> run (if you have it), type services.msc, now do not remove any of these unless you know what you are doing but if any stand out, then disable them or set them to manual.
Finally defrag your hard drive and you should be, running somewhat better.

It works fine, except when I clock the Euro 2012 icon, and then click on a link, I get a message saying file type not recognised.
I know they won't work yet, but what extension are they/where are the files it referring to put?
m my temp folder, just so I can make the association and it should get rid of the problem.

im currently using Blackhole 1.7.2 image, but I am unable to add the blindscan addon and install dlna as per the tutorial
Codehttp://linuxsat-support.com/enigma2-tutorials/14036-install-plugins-dlna-dreambox-500hd-800se.htmlCan anyone suggest an image, as it seems the Blackhole one has a lack of space to add anything else really, and I would like to use oscam/mgcamd.

Im just wondering, on what sort of spec of pc/server would i be looking at to run a linux server reasonably well
of course better processor more memory is always going to be better, but im just wondering what type of tackle is required to do this reasonably well.
If you know of any links to second hand equipment, they would be gratefully received.

Well your first step I have already given you, the configs are in the thread for oscam, that leaves you with mgcamd, quick search of forum will give you that info.
Give it a go, if you get stuck, then make a post, and make sure you give enough info.
