The OpenATV 5.3 exists for the Original DM520HD boxes, the Sim 2.30 DM520HD boxes and the Japhar Sim DM520HD.
So most probably you used the wrong sim image, with a sim that is different in your box.

Such errors are due to the use of an image for another sim, for example if your box is original and you use a clone image, or vice versa. Also if you have a Sim 2.30 and you use a Japhar DM520HD image, and vice versa.
So first of all check the sim card you have in your box, there is the Sim 2.30 from a Clone Manufacturer, the Japhar NC3 for DM520HD that can work on Clone or Original boxes, and the Original Sim that is a sim card or a chip.
Check and let us know, and give us the exact link of the image you used (I see OpenATV 5.3), from where exactly did you downloaded it ? Can you post the link here ?
