Sky Sports UHD launched this month. It'll be showing 124 Premier League matches in Ultra HD this season.
Granted it isn't currently shareable, but 4K transmissions are now very much a thing

That's why I got my Vu+ Solo 4K and my LG OLED 950V TV.
But this is for pure hobby, not because I have watched any transmission in 4K(Except from Euro 2016)

So, if you are going to decide based on logic, you do not need a 4K receiver right now, if you already have a FHD receiver.
If you are in the market of buying a new receiver because you do not have one, then I strongly recommend a UHD receiver as I see the future there.

There is no 4K transmission for the moment.
Except from some channels that are transmitting only the "idea" of 4K.

The only decent 4K transmission has been Euro 2016 (7 games).

    My setup:
    1 motorized dish
1 cable going to 1 receiver
    1 x Inverto Black Unicable Quad 40mm LNB 2 Legacy Ports 0,2dB + 1 Splitter
    1 x TBS Brand TBS5925 USB DVB-S2 TV Box,Unique USB TV Box supports VCM,CCM,ACM and 32APSK

The config I need is for my VU+ solo 4k. How to set first and second internal DVB-S2 tuners and then how to set TBS?

    Thanks!

I am resurrecting this thread as I've recently got other equipment:
    1 x Inverto Black Unicable Quad 40mm LNB 2 Legacy Ports 0,2dB + 1 Splitter
    1 x TBS Brand TBS5925 USB DVB-S2 TV Box,Unique USB TV Box supports VCM,CCM,ACM and 32APSK

Can you please, help me the configuration so I get the most from all the tuners?

    Thanks!

    Hi All,
I am using OATV 5.3 with Kodi 16.1(Thanks Master G for the backup) in my VU+ Solo 4K.
Everything is fine except for the subtitles.

My specific problem is that Kodi doesn't launch Mediaplayer2 (that supports downloading of subtitles).
Also, it doesn't launch it's internal player(that also supports subtitles).

The media player which is launched by default is a very limited one in functionalities. Never seen it before.

My question is: can I set the player to be the internal or Mediaplayer2 for all streams?
The strangest thing is that for some live tv it starts the internal kodi player,
and for some VOD it starts Mediaplayer2, but the number is very limited.

For almost all services it starts a strange player that has almost no added functionality.

I would suggest a LG OLED TV.
    Mine is a last year's 65EF950V.
You can check for this year's models, but I have to tell you that sometimes I look at the few 4K channels on satellite or YouTube, just for the sake of watching something wonderful.
BTW, I have the same VU+ Solo 4k as a satellite receiver(No wonder here as it's the only one right now).

As for 4K content, we just got the news that RAI Italia will transmit at least 7 games of European Championship this summer and it's just the beginning ;-)

Forget the FBC for one moment.
I just want to use two simple DVB-S2 tuners with one cable.
With the GB Quad I had previously I could do this with the internal loopthrough.
    Isn't it available in VU+ Solo 4k?

    Another clarification:
apparently I have not a good configuration of the tuners, as I cannot use tuner B for streaming.

Any help for the correct configuration of the second DVB-S2 tuner with only one line?

    Thanks!

    Tuner setup:
    1st DVB-S2 tuner Positioner
    2nd DVB-S2 tuner: loopthrough to 1st
    3rd DVB-T2/C dual tuner

Only one feed from motor to first tuner.

    Just to clarify sth:
when I watch one DVB-S2 service I can stream(or record) another from the same satellite so tuners are working as they should

I am using OpenATV with my VU+ Solo 4K, and PIP works fine with two channels from different tuners(DVB-S and DVB-T).
But, when I try to do PIP with two channels from the same satellite (not same transponder) I can see only one channel.
Is there a problem or I need to configure something?
    Thanks!
