Well if they are genuine sticks and not fleebay snides. you can always try cleaning your usb ports with a cotton bud. Some of these boxes are known for dodgy usb ports. Personally never had a problem with usbs myself though.
Are you not even getting the FLSH or USB message on the front of your box.
-
if you have done it to 2 boxes, I would get yourself a genuine descent usb stick. Sounds like its a dodgy fake usb to me. Which might be why the flash is completely failing
-
Some people have had some luck just pressing random buttons on your remote when this happens. Turn it on and off and the back and just press some buttons.
Other things to try...
Turn it of at the mains for a while.
Try re-flashing with a clean image first, before installing a backup build.
http://images.mynonpublic.com/…/index.php?open=zgemmah2safter that you will probably have to try a bootloader. (which can brick your box completely if you mess that up)

Which skin are you actually referring to???
If you are referring to the custimisable Metrix skin, you just go into plugins via the main menu, select MyMetrixlite and change what ever you want.
If you are refering to any other skin... we need to know what you are talking about.

I have never used dreamboxedit so can't comment on that. I mainly got into echannelizer when I started creating my picons sets, because it was a lot easier for me to see which picons were missings and lot easier to import and export picons. I now use it for lots of things like re-ordering boquets, uploading playlists etc.
Like everything in the satellite box world. There is no one way of doing anything. Try all the different applications/plugins/methods. Use the one you most like, or find easist to do your specific task your after. -
Although echannelizer can seem quite daunting at first, it is very easy to use and a very useful program, there are lots of tutorials on echannelizer site and youtube. Just spend a little time reading how to use it and learn some of the keyboard short cuts and you will be fine.
It's just a simple case of you reference your satellite box. Download all your channels and bouquets into the program.
Then you can change whatever you like, whether that be assigning picons, swapping bouquets/channels around, hiding channels, adding in or updating iptv playlists, etc etc.
Then you just push your changes back to your box.
It should be in every satellite box users arsenal.

I am not going to totally babysit you, it's up to you to do your own research via google or the many satellite forums out there. So here is a quick summary
IPTV... These can come in many formats. Here are a few examples of common ones.
single streams.... these will usually end in .m3u8 or .ts
udp single streams... http://000.000.000.000:0000/udp/000.000.000.000:0000
another type of single stream... http://domain.com:8000/play/a045
playlists (which is a whole bunch of channels) Can also come in various formats.
http://domain.com:port/get.php?username=USERNAME?password=PASSWORD?type=m3u&output=ts
(type can vary depending on what device its being played on, output is the format that it will stream in. i.e m3u, ts or rmtp.
http://domain.com:port/playlist
http://domain.com:8000/playlist.m3u8
So how do you use them.
Just paste them into VLC player (ctrl v) and if they are active they will just play.
Most streams only allow 1 user at a time to view the stream. Most of the streams you find on the internet will be getting hammered by mulitple users. They will therefore boot you out from viewing after 10/30/60 seconds. In vlc player you click the repeat loop button to overcome this.
How do you use them on a satellite box. There are many ways to do this.
You either use a script that is provided by the iptv provider.
You can use a 3rd party script like suls m3ubouquets
or you use e-channelizer to create an iptv bouquet from a downloaded playlist.
you use specific plugins like XC plugin.
you can use iptv player plugin and copy them to your usb/hard drive and search for them via the local media folder in the plugin.
You can also check if a stream is active by using one of the many iptv checkers out there. Here is my own new iptv checker. (read the thread on how to use it).
*NEW* IPTV Stream Checker by KiddaCAs for getting up to speed with the terminolgy. Google "general sateliite terminolgy kiddac". You will find a thread a wrote a couple of years ago when I was first getting into satellite boxes.
I will now leave you to go do some research ;)

Have you tried deleting your existing epg.dat file from your usb/hdd?
Try "Load EPG only services in bouquets"... no
Try "Clear current EPG before import".. yes
and you have all sources selected
-
have you tried the full ipk for epg importer from post 9, or just copied over the rytec.sources.xml
Personally I would delete epg importer plugin. Then install the ipk in post 9.
-
so here is what I have tried.
uninstalled an early version of e2m3ubouquet plugin. This also forcible uninstalled epg importer. Suls needs to sort that out if that still happens with later versions.
Reinstalled epg importer via plugins menu. (didn't work).
Installed epg importer from github folders (didn't work).
Deleted epgimport.conf from /etc/enigma2 (didn't work).
Deleted any reference to e2mu2b and epgimport from settings in /etc.enigma2 (didn't work)
Deleted epg.dat from USB (Didn't work). Epg.dat wasn't reloaded either when trying to run epg importer.
Tried lululla's rytec.sources.xml from post 7. Gave me an usunsual strange list.
d360cb4cf9105d.pngbut ticked the ones I thought relevant. Now loading something...
So looking at github and my files it was just missing the new sources as provided by lululla.
that goes in
\etc\epgimport\

I notice this week my epg importer has stopped working too on openatv 6.1. I think it stopped working when I put in some iptv epg script for epg importer.
Then again the source might just be invalid at the moment. I will be investigating this problem tonight and let you know how I get on with it.
Supposedly the buggy crossepg has now been fixed for openatv again. So this might be an option if epg importer is buggered.

.and judging by your username, you are probably a vix fan. Openvix doesn't work on these boxes very well as it will be a hacked image. Also if you do find a vix image it will be very old as the latest version doesn't work at all on zgemmas. So it's highly recommended you use openatv on these boxes.
-
Here's the latest openatv6.1 image for zgemma h2.
You have to make sure you use the correct image for your box model.
http://images.mynonpublic.com/…/index.php?open=zgemmash2If you look in the in SH1 folder
you will see it says noforce.
This means you have to press the standby button on the front of your box as soon as the front display says USB.
On pressing standby your box should say FLSH and it will take about 5-10 mins to flash.
Let the box flash and as soon as your box reboots and says boot on the front display. Remove the USB stick.
If you have any backed up older settings, don't use them. These can lead to boot problems.
When you first boot up, it should give you a menu where you select your display type. This should auto rotate through them if you are seeing nothing on screen.
Openatv is german. So first load it will just display the boot logo as it can't find any of the default german channels.
You then have to complete the rest of your setup. adding channels. adding epg. adding softcams etc.
To finish the rest of your setup have a look at my setup guide for zgemmas here...

These boxes can be confusing at first as they are not a plug an play box.
But there are plenty of guides on how to set them up from scratch.
I have a setup guide here for zgemmas.

you can get your image firmware from here for this model.
http://images.mynonpublic.com/…t/index.php?open=zgemmah7
If you are just using satelitte, I can help you set that up.
If you are using cable instead, I am sure someone like dsayers will be able to help you with that side of things.
Don't be so defeative... you have a very good box there, it seems a waste to sell it because you can't fathom it out.
-
Your zgemma HS only has a single tuner.
Therefore it can only play one stream at a time. (Unless the channels are on the same transponder. )
So either turn your box into standby or turn your box to the channel you want to watch on VLC.
Also make sure both your satbox and VLC are on the same internet/wifi.

Use xorionBootLogoMatik to create any bootlogo with your new radio graphic.
This creates a sub folder in the location of xorion. Find your mvi file you just created. Rename it to radio.mvi and upload to etc/enigma2 -
I object. leave documentaries alone ;)
