I finally managed to recover the box, the only thing I did differently was load the basic image onto the flash drive on my old mac rather than the windows laptop I had been using.

Thanks for the suggestion, I found the correct file but it did exactly what the other images have done it got as far saying it was flashing but even after an hour all that seems to have changed was the image on the Vu screen which changed to the Vu logo. I then tried openvix again, it recognises the file on the usb, says it's flashing but almost immediately the flashing light on the usb flash drive stops flashing. Once I reboot I've got the openvix logo on the Vu screen for 30 seconds or so but then it goes black and there's nothing on the TV.

Any other ideas guys?

Hi, whilst reinstalling openvpn my Vu repeatedly crashed so I thought that I'd reflash and start again but when I tried reinstalling Openvix it hangs immediately after saying that it is starting to flash. If I reboot openvix appears on the front screen on the receiver but nothing on the TV and it just goes to a black screen soon after. I have also tried Open atv and the same thing happens although it get as far as showing open atv when I reboot but again it doesn't flash properly and the full image just doesn't seem to be there.

I have tried two flash drives both of which i've used for flashing before, formatted to fat32, I've disconnected the other usb drive I normally have connected plus the internal hdd, power completely disconnected even over night and i've tried every permutation of this about 20 times without any success.

Is there anyway to force a factory reset or does anyone have any ideas what may help?

Thanks, I've reflashed and it's now installed, just need to get it to work now!

It's weird, I can't get 1.1.7 py3 ipk to even install using the same version of openvix as you so at this stage in the process it can't be the vpn provider itself.

Maybe I need to erase the Vu and start again.

Thanks for the suggestion Master G, I thought that I was making progress, having used the telnet command I can see the files using ftp and went looking to see if I could find a folder to add username and password rather than trying to type from a remote control but I couldn't. So I went to the Vu and looked for the plugin itself and I get this message

Warning Some plugins are not available: Extensions/Nordvpnconnector/no module named 'plugins.extensions.nordvpnconnector. plugin'

I've tried rebooting, any ideas?

After further reading could the problem be that nordvpnconnector is not compatible with python 3?

Hi, I have been trying to get openvpn working on my Vu Duo 4kse running the latest openvix and have tried just about every method I can find without any success although I can see openvpn, my nordvpn config opvn files, my user/password file using ftp. Having no luck with that I have also tried to install vpn manager 1.1.7 as an ipk several times and for some reason it won't install, showing this error /bin/sh:c: line 1: syntax error near unexpected token '('

Can anyone identify the issue from this?

Alternatively is there a step by step guide to setting up openvpn using nordvpn configs for openvix?

As someone else inexperienced with oscam i'm finding this thread very educational.

Does the ccc version need to be the same in the server file and the conf file?

Similarly should the disablecrccws need to be the same or can I disable in the conf (I think this is what Master G calls Global) if they are set in the server/reader files?

And one other what does cccwantemu do?

I've just received my new Duo from the sponsors flashed with the latest Openvix, I'm trying to ftp some config files but keep receiving this error -

Insecure server, it does not support FTP over TLS. I can connect with openwebif so I know the ip and network is correct but can't understand why this doesn't work.

Any suggestions please?

I am hoping to buy a new 4K Duo SE soon to replace my old HD Ultimo, my question is whether or not I can install one of my old tuner cards into the second tuner slot on the Duo or do they have to be the new FBC type?

All sorted now, I installed another oscam, found some of s3n0's tutorials and used his scripts to update and add feeds, then added new dvbapi, services files etc.

Now whether I will be able to remember what I did the next time I try it is anyone's guess1

Sorry atari, I don't know, I just installed from the satvenus panel. I think I will try another version of oscam as Panda555 suggests.

The browser is installing http:// in front of the ip.

I think I'll try a fresh install and a change of browser just to see if that has anything to do with it.

Sorry guys I may have misled you a bit there, when I say webif I meant Openwebif I was just abbreviating. Openwebif will connect to the Vu but Oscam webinterface is now giving 'cannot reach this page'.

I don't suppose whether anyone knows whether the oscam ipk from SatVenus Panel contains all the necessary files to function, once server details added?

Sorry to be a pain but whilst I did get oscam working a few years ago I've forgotten how and as I'm hoping to get a new box soon I know that I'll have to move away from cccam so it's a lot of reading and trial and error I'm afraid.
