By default pressing the OK button twice should bring it up...
if you´re not happy with the image ,then change to another..
As for "so many viewing" ,consider they might be in the same boat as yourself or reading to learn themselves...
Have you looked in the media/usb folder??
use filezilla or DCC to FTP over to see it.
You should be able to see epg.dat.gz and another folder named vuplus where your full backup will be stored.
if it isn´t there then you need to remount the usb stick.
as for your first question,: after making a backup to hdd it will then proceed to backup in usb too.
it usually takes between 5-7 minutes

Have you unplugged the box and plugged it in again yet?
If it is either the LNB or the dish moved by wind/bird/drone,etc,, the time/date won´t be correct after restarting.(unless you have it running from the internet obiously)
Have you tried pinging your Peer´s IP ? Although you say signal and not viewing/opening...
Can you get signal on FTA channels? have you updated the list recently?
Unscrew all cable connections and screw them again..
i think SID REJECT only works if you have a card

I wonder would SID REJECT not suffice if its the shorter length?
As long as the Dish is big enough, the pole/motor/dish were properly aligned and the correct coordinates were added and tuner config is set,
let it move and try out FTA channels on each sat.
if the other sats/platforms are greyed out its usually because of tuner config not properly set to receive them

Ask your peer if they have that package .... maybe they don´t so they can´t share what they don´t have....
Ask for a different user password...
if you're not happy ,then stop sharing with that peer and find yourself another one.

please also take note from when the links were posted and the date you tried them.
Do not bother posting/reporting that a link dies or loops within x time, as this is usually because of an overloaded server.
The main reason for this is that a lot of IPTV streams captured are from private domestic servers with dynamic IPs which change every 2/3 days.
