No, I'm not using USB hub. Smargo readers go directlyin USB ports on tower mate. How would I go about disabling britty package? Sorry, I'm a total newb when it comes to debian 6

smargo works fine in debian no drivers needed..what card are you wanting to read as you need the correct configs putting into cccam.cfg
Sly Uk, do you have a example of the correct config needed, obviously need to put my correct boxkey. This is the one I have in at the moment -
SERIAL READER : /dev/ttyUSB0 smartreader+
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/ttyUSB0 6860000
BOXKEY : /dev/ttyUSB0 ** ** ** **
but I am not getting entitlements only -
card reader /dev/ttyUSB0
no or unknown card inserted
I have tried the smargo reader in every USB port but still says the same.
Any ideas?
Thanks for you time
smargo should work fine out the box !
you'll need to do dmesg command to find correct path !
Omnikey requires special drivers if i remember correctly not smargo !
Thanks mate, when you do dmesg command is that to find out what USB port the smargo smart reader is in so I can put the right number in my config i.e SERIAL READER : /dev/ttyUSB0 smartreader+
Thanks for the help
Hi, I have set up a debian 6 linux server with automated CCcam 2.3.0 and have added config file using CS studio. I now need to set up my smargo smart readers but don't know whether I need to install smargo drivers to get them to work. If so can anybody help me out with installing the drivers as I am finding it a bit difficult to understand the tutorials I have read, Thanks.
Ok, I managed to connect, I was using the main password instead of the user password, what a dumbass ay. Just trying to setup smargo smart readers now but am struggling, I have the drivers on my PC but don't know where to send them on my debian linux server to install them, Any ideas mate? think I'm nearly there, Thanks again
How do I run ./CCcam.x86 -d, do I not need to install drivers -srp_tools_x86
srp_update_x86. Sorry, I'm trying to get my head around this but I'm struggling.
Hi, I am new to debian 6 so bare with me, I am trying to get my smargo smart reader working on my debian 6 server, I have been reading the tutorial to do so butI amgetting a bit confused when it comes to this bit
4: Uptate beginning.
Copy to your PC linux server FTP 2 files:
srp_tools_x86
srp_update_x86
Set on console to both file chmod 755 !
I have DL the smargo driver on the destop of my PC but am unsure how to FTP it to my debian server and where to FTP it to. Can anybody help me out as I have hit a bit of a wall? Thanks
Thanks Ten, I managed to send my CCcam.cfg to home/ccam on my debian server with WinSCP but on the main page it is displaying - Update failed : Unable to connect to 192.168.1.38:16001 I dont have any F lines in the config but I have a box key for a smargo reader, I would have thought even with no F lines It would still connect just show 0 connected clients. Any ideas where I might be going wrong? Thanks again
Thanks for the reply mate, my problem is getting CS studio on my PC to connect to my debian server. The tutorial tells me what to do when I am connected but I'm still unsure on how to set up CS studio so it knows to connect to my server, there Is probably some info I need to retreive from my debian server and input into CS studio but I dont know what it is and where it goes, any ideas where I might be going wrong?
Hi, I have had a vu duo set up as a card server for the last year but am trying to swap over to a debian linux PC server. I have installed automated CCcam 2.1.3 on the debian server and CS studio on my PC to add CCcam.cfgs, but I don't know how to connect my PC to my server. I have read many tutorials but they seem to explain adding F lines once you are already connected and I am abit lost. Are there any more in depth tutorials around or are there details I need to receive from my debian server and input into CS studio on my PC? Any feedback would be much appreciated as I am a total newbie to PC servers, Thanks
Hi, I have Oscam 6059/CCcam 2.1.3 on a Vu duo that has been reading my sly uk card fine up untill the last 3 months. I lost ESPN in September last year but after adding 85 to my ecm whitelist I had it working fine. However about 3 months ago it just stopped reading the card all together, I have two boxes and the same problem on both, it seems to be clearing none premium channels but not sly sports and ESPN. I don't know if the oscam version i am using is old but i am running out of ideas. If anybody has any advice it would be much aprreciated, thanks
Can any one recommend a good image for a DM600 pvr clone in which I can get a 7 day EPG, tried Pli jade but I have to map all the channels individually for the EPG which is a bit of a pain.
Managed to solve problem by adding ecmwhitelist = 0963@000000:3E,42,44,45,47,4E,53,54,61,62,68,69,6A ,6B,6D,6F,71,72,73,77,78,79,7A,7C,7D,7E,80,8B,85 to my oscam.server config. works fine now, Thanks again
I have Racing UK working fine with CCcam 2.1.3 on my Vu+Duo
maybe card needs to be updated in original receiver, strange as I have never had to do it before. Main thing is other people have it so it is an isolated issue. Thanks for the replies
For the last for day's ESPN SD does not seem to clear on my Vu+ Duo with Oscam+CCcam 2.1.3. I have ESPN HD and ESPN America HD fine, I have perfect signal and have done an auto scan and still nothing so I am puzzled. Does anybody else have the same issue?
I have a Vu+ duo and I was wondering whether I could share two cards at the same time using the twin cards slots, or do I have to use external card readers to share more than one card? Any feed back would be much appreciated.
