Thanks, but unfortunately, no result. I deffo have the correct plugin, I have also already installed dependencies, nothing in plugins and nothing on long blue. Curiouser & curiouser!

Hi guys, I just flashed my Solo with BH 2.1.1, all looking good so far. I'm looking to install IPTV listupdater, but can't find it anywhere on the various menus. I downloaded the enigma2 plugin, put it in .tmp, tried to install .ipk. It said it couldn't do that, so I installed all appropriate dependencies and tried again. This time, it appeard to install, but I can't find it anywhere! So, if anyone can suggest where it might be, or, how I should do this properly, please give me a shout.

    Hi guys,

The chatbox is great for communication between members, BUT, "Chatbox Is For Small Talk Only, For Technical Support Post Your Questions On The Forum." is not doing the job it's supposed to. Can I suggest that staff think of a way to strengthen the rule. Perhaps, a larger and bolder font. Maybe even stronger wording. I obviously don't know how any other members feel, but I certainly don't enjoy having to read personal support questions in there.

In my experience, splitting the signal does NOT work. You will be losing signal strength, and that will explain why you lose signal on the weaker transponders. You could check this by using single tuner and having a look at the SNR of lost channels against the signal of the ones that were still there.

Two big advantages you have there. The size of the SSD compared with mechanical drives, and of course, data transfer speed. The DM is a small box, so I would think an SSD would be perfect. Lucky man to have a 500GB lying around spare!

TSmedia is a plugin for linux-based boxes, such as VU+, Xtrend, Dreambox etc. It can be downloaded from enigma plugins on this forum. It can be installed by ftp in the .tmp folder of your box image. There are plenty of how-to's on the forum.

Thanks again lads, for all the feedback. I must say that, if it wasn't for the insular and xenophobic attitude of the UK government about an outdated antiquated tax, the license fee, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Please forgive the rant!

10°E is a great idea, but, unfortunately, they have a fixed dish, and would lose too many channels on 28.2°E. I had a look at the 10°E footprint, and it looks like they would get quite a good signal, unlike me, in Scotland!

They have a steady 5meg down speed and .3 up. They seem to be able to stream movies well, but not the UK basic channels. Being X-pats, they like these basic channels, so I think I will suggest a motor. Obviously, that would give them a whole new perspective.

Thanks for the input lads. I've been trying alternatives like IPTV and TSmedia for them, but channels like BBC1 keep dropping out after a few minutes, although it's good here. I have a feeling that Telefo***a has something to do with this. They don't use them as ISP, but I think they own the line. If anyone has a reliable alternative for my Sis and bro-in-law to watch BBC & ITV, please let me know.

Thanks for that m8. Where I am, (East Scotland), I pick up 960 services on 28.2°E, but my sister only sees just over 700. I'm trying to find out if this is caused by their system or the moving and closing of transponders. It does seem a very big drop. I wondered if the recent winds and/or a very long cable run has affected their signal.

    Hi guys,

Could someone in the general area of Southern Spain please help? How many channels (approximately) should my sister receive on 28.2°E with a scan using a 1.3m dish?

    TIA

In addition to the above post, I notice that on the latest Openvix image for the ET5x00 under setup/system/network, there's an option for openvpn. Unfortunately it doesn't open. Does anyone know anything about this? Perhaps there's a plugin somewhere!

If you've lost the channels that you watch a lot, like BBC 1, which have been lost in Spain, France, Germany, Greece etc, can I suggest you install TSmedia on your stb. When installed, go to Menu/TSmedia/IPTV/Oneplaylist/All channels, and then scroll to the right till you find BBC 1. There will be two instances there, the second one seems to work best. Probably temporary, but it works.

    Hi guys,

I've got a paid VPN set up on one of my PCs atm, but don't know how to go about applying it to the Xtrend. Does anyone know how, or even a couple of pointers in the right direction. I'm hoping to get better streams using this. Any ideas will be most welcome.

Everything points to a small adjustment at the dish. I've advised him to wait for a significant improvement in the weather. When I get a result, I'll be glad to post it here, but in the meantime, thanks for all the input, invaluable info.

Thanks a lot guys! The info looks to be spot on.

I haven't been posting long here, but because of response, I'll probably have a lot more to say.
