ok ten i give up on my work so far and im goin back to basics and following this tut you recommened. im not in the process of downloading ubuntu desktop and installing oscam to it!!!

ok i need to install my oscam files over again. i originally did this via ssh following a tutorial but when i now try to do it via ftp i cant cos im not logged in as root

any ideas?

still no joy mrgmx. i found out that its device /dev/ttyUSB0 and put that line in my oscam.server file but i still got the error below. im not even sure if im looking for the smargo in the right usb port?

hi ten i already started my install from Install Ubuntu Server 10.04 + Oscam + Smargo Reader. everything went well except for when i ran oscam i get this msg

i followed the ubuntu smargo tutorial but hit a stumbling block so decided to format and start again? the question is tho what set up or tutoril should i follow which is easiest to install and maintain. i am a complete novice and the simpler the better. a video tutorial would be excellent if available

hi all im a complete novice so forgive my low level of understanding. i am following the tutorial below on how to set up my ubuntu server and install a smargo reader and oscam. i have got as far as point 3. and entered sudo pico /usr/local/etc/oscam.conf but its bring up a slightly different interface called GNU nano in which im not sure how to enter the following code and execute it? when i do enter it and hit enter it does nothing, can some one please tell me what im not doing correctly?
