I've got to go out shortly but yes I'll put a guide together later on this evening and post it up.

And sure it's possible to series link anything you want to. I think for series link it has to be set via web UI rather than directly via EPG on the WeTek, you can however set individual programs to record directly from the EPG on the WeTek.
I'll stick a series link guide up on here later on this evening as well

OK so I've had a Wetek Play for almost a week now. I've not really bothered using the Android side of it as that's not really what I got it for. I use it purely for OpenELEC with Live TV and recording stuff from 28.2e as well as streaming media over the LAN from my server

Admittedly, setting it up for use with 28.2e was initially a bit of a learning curve for me but this is only because I've never had any experience with configuring TVHeadEnd before. Now I've got it all configured I could literally do it all again in my sleep it's that simple.
Setting up AutoTimers for recording stuff is, for me at least, a lot more simpler than using an E2 box, it can all be done from a very clean and easy to use web based UI, much prefer it to the OpenWebIF offerings from E2.
7 day EPG is also not a problem as it pulls this data from exactly the same source that the likes of CrossEPG on an E2 box does.

Auto Bouquets were a slight issue for me. Whilst the channel list populated all the channels automatically, they were all in one big list. I had to manually organise them in to their correct genres, Entertainment, News, Sports etc etc. But despite having to do this it really was a doddle to do thanks again to the incredibly easy to use web based UI.

I've had one or two teething problems with certain scheduled recordings not actually getting recorded but I believe I have now got this under control, I'll know for definite within the next couple of days.

    Bottom line for me is

    • If you've had previous experience with setting up TVHeadEnd as a satellite receiver backend then definitely go for a WeTek Play
    • If you've not had previous experience but you're up for a little challenge of learning something new then go for a WeTek Play, but honestly after the initial set up this is an absolute dream to use, my Mrs and 2 young children have no trouble at all using it
    • If you want something a little more 'plug n play' then you need to stick to one of the more established E2 boxes or other established variants

This is definitely the start of the future for DVB reception in my opinion. Totally over the moon with my WeTek Play :thumb:

Have you forwarded the correct ports from your router to your NAS?

I've never done this myself as I just use Plex for streaming outside my home, but off the top of my head I believe the ports you need to forward are 8080 and 9777

It's probably because by using a ddns address your ecm requests are being sent out round the internet before finally coming back in to your home and being served.
By using the LAN IP address everything is being kept in your internal network, massively cutting down on the number of hops / distance the requests are having to travel

Your box is not accessible via the internet at all is it? I'm just wondering if someone has maliciously changed your box's password?

I'm sure this isn't what has happened but it might be worth double checking that their are no ports forwarded on your router to the Vu Solo box, just to be absolutely certain

There are a number of ways you can do it, depending on what Operating System you are trying to access the hard disk with and how you are trying to access the hard disk.

If you simply want to copy recordings to or from the hard disk you could just FTP to your DM800 and do it that way.

If you want to be able to access them directly over the network, i.e via a shared drive then you need to set up a Samba share on your DM800, assuming the image you are using supports this. I am running one of the latest build of Vix Apollo on my Vu Duo and I have the option for setting up a Samba share in: Menu-->Setup-->System-->Network-->Samba setup
Once set up you should be able to simply map a network drive as normal in Windows to \\ip-of-dm800\share name

If you're using Linux on your PC then you'd be better off configuring an NFS Share from your DM800. Again, assuming it supports this the option to do so should be somewhere in the menu near where the option to set up a Samba share is

Bit of a long shot, but if you really do want to persist with wireless, it might be worth changing the channel that your router is broadcasting it's wireless network on.

I tend to find channels 1, 7 or 11 to be the best, but you may have different results

Have you considered using a couple of Home Plugs?

I used to use a 150mbps wifi dongle on my Vu Duo but found a couple of 200mbps Home Plugs to be much more reliable, especially as I was streaming a lot of HD video files from another PC on my LAN

What you mean sorry? Don't use hd? There's no hd to watch ..

Precisely, so it's best to add all of the HD srvid's to your oscam.services file and then block them on your reader. That way your server will not even attempt to clear the channel, thus saving you valuable CPU time

I rooted my Sony Xperia Z running Android 4.4.2 a few days ago using the towelroot method.

Can confirm it worked perfectly and was ridiculously simple to do, download .apk file with your phone, install it and run Towelroot shortcut from your home screen. Job done

OK mate, I've tried the usual things such as powering off my Vu Duo and powering it back on, reflashing it etc but unfortunately nothing seems to resolve the problem.

It's not a huge issue as I do have 4oD on my XBMC machine upstairs so if I really do need to catch up on anything I can do so with that, however if anyone else knows why I'm having this problem on the Vu Duo I look forward to hearing about it :)

Does anyone know the reason for there being no sound in anything I watch from 4od in the OnDemand plugin? Everything from the BBC iPlayer and the ITV Player is fine, it's just 4od that there seems to be something wrong with.

For what it's worth, I've had this same problem since at least the last two previous builds of the old Helios Vix releases as well

    Hi guys,

After a bit of help from an installer if there is anyone local to me on here?

My current set up consists of a zone 1 fixed dish pointing at 28.2e

I have purchased a zone 2 dish along with a couple of Inverto Black Ultra lnbs, a 4-way diseqc switch and a multi-lnb bracket.

I have a Vu Duo stb which is currently working flawlessly set up to work with the 28.2e satellite.

I have had someone come round and they've mounted the new zone 2 dish on the side of my house alongside (or slightly above as it goes) the existing zone 1 dish. They have attempted to set it up to receive 13e and 19.2e. According to their satellite meter they were getting a decent signal and snr from both satellites, but when we plugged the lnbs into the Vu Duo and configured the tuner correctly we have been unable to pick ANYTHING up from either satellite.
I think I need someone to come round and double check that the dish is aligned correctly, and possibly double check my configuration settings on the Duo.

My goal is to have the following:

    • Have one direct feed from the fixed zone 1 dish to one tuner on my Vu Duo
    • Second feed from fixed zone 1 dish to one of the diseqc inputs
    • Align fixed zone 2 dish to pick up 13e and 19.2e and have one feed from both lnbs going in to diseqc inputs
    • Have diseqc switch plugged in to remaining tuner on my Duo and configured correctly (I'm currently running OpenViX Zeus, but I'm open to running any other preferred image)

Unfortunately I have Cerebral Palsy which causes me a great deal of mobility problems so I am in no way able to climb a ladder and start trying to sort this out myself :(

So I think my best option is to call on the expertise of you wonderful people on here in the hope that someone may be able to help me out :)
If anyone is willing to take a look at this for me could you please get in contact with me and give me an idea of what it's going to cost. Everything is already up on the wall, I believe it just needs properly aligning etc.

I live in Hodnet, near Market Drayton in Shropshire.

Right I hope I've covered everything here that I need to. If anyone needs anymore information from me, let me know :)

    Cheers,
    Jim
