I have posted in your thread on the WeTek forums as well now, just waiting for my post on there to be authorised by a moderator.

I'll post in here if I hear anything back from them, or indeed if I manage to sort the issue myself in the mean time.

    Thanks again for your assistance

I checked my CEC settings on the TV again last night before I went to bed and there was a second setting relating to CEC that was still switched on, so I switched it off.

Woke up this morning and switched on the TV, and the WeTek was there ready and waiting for me to use it, it hadn't crashed or anything. Hopefully this has finally sorted the problem :)

Problem still seems to be present.

Just been on my PS4 for about an hour so switched AV Receiver input to HDMI 2. Switched back to HDMI 1 to do something on the WeTek and was met with a blank screen again. Also the WeTek had completely frozen up again.

Back to the drawing board on this one I guess

OK, so I've had a reply back on the WeTek Forums from the admin. Apparently they are working on a fix for a bug in the HDMI driver that may well be causing this problem.

They'll have it ready ASAP. I'll post back here when I hear more

    Hi mate

    Thanks for the reply.

I went out a few minutes after posting this topic, the WeTek was working fine up to that point. I've just got back in and it had crashed again, blank screen although this time it wasn't even accessible via web browser or ssh, I had to pull the power out and plug it back in again.
For what it's worth I'm also using an LG TV, there is also an LG HDMI AV Receiver sitting between the WeTek and the TV.

I'm not using the HDMI cable that came with the device. I'm using the same one I used with my Vu Duo for a couple of years with no problems

Do you want to update the thread you created about this on the WeTek forums? Or would you like me to register on there and post it myself?

I've got a sneaky suspicion that this is still somehow related to a CEC issue. Seeing as how I've disabled CEC from my TV and that hasn't helped, I've discovered how to also switch it off within OpenELEC.

Connect via SSH and issue this command:

    Code
    echo "0" > /sys/devices/virtual/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/cec_config

I'll see how I get on now and let you all know

Nope, left TV and AV Receiver switched off for half an hour. Switched them both back on and I've just got the blank screen again. WeTek has completely crashed again as well, can't access it at all. The remote doesn't even work, can't turn it off any other way other than pulling the power plug out

So there's a small problem I've come across with my WeTek running OpenELEC.

Sometimes I'll switch my TV on, lets say first thing in the morning and switch to the HDMI channel that the WeTek is plugged in to but the screen is just blank. The TV knows something is still plugged in to it because it doesn't give me a 'No Signal' message on that channel, the screen is just simply blank.
Pressing any buttons on the WeTek remote doesn't help at all.
To, possibly, add to the confusion, when this happens I am still able to access the WeTek via a web browser (TVHeadend Web GUI) as well as via SSH. Any scheduled recordings also appear to record fine. This happened yesterday evening whilst a recording was scheduled to happen and I was able to login to the TVHeadend Web GUI and watch the recording file size increasing accordingly.

Yesterday I switched off the HDMI-CEC function of my TV to see if this solved the problem but today the same thing happened.

I was originally running OpenELEC from a MicroSD card. When I noticed this problem happening a couple of times I installed OpenELEC to the WeTek NAND to see if it solved the problem, unfortunately it hasn't solved it.

I have now tried disabling the OpenELEC screensaver option (which was set to Dim after 3 minutes). I've only just made this change so I don't know if it's solved the problem or not but to be honest I can't see that it will do.

It seems as though something is going to sleep in the WeTek and not waking back up but I don't know what.

It may also be worth mentioning that occasionally the screen will go blank for a couple of seconds whilst we're in the middle of watching something but then it does come back again.

Has anyone got any suggestions on how to sort this? Or has anyone else experienced this?

i take it i have to manually move radio channels to a radio bouquet as not done by tvheadend on 28.2
also on channel tag section does sort index mean bouquet order preference ?

To get TVHeadend to map the Radio channels automatically, when you are on the Bouquets screen, put a tick in the 'Map Radio' check box for your selected bouquet region

    33b62a98d0548407e6e.jpg

As for the sort index. I'm not sure to be honest. I thought the same as you but it doesn't seem to work for me

I think it needs some more time to scan the muxes.

Click the Status button at the top of the screen and if you see anything in there where it shows you a signal strength then it's most likely still scanning the muxes.

I rescanned mine last night and it took at least 20 mins to complete, so yours will probably need the same amount of time

OK, this is a strange one. I've just gone back through my settings and it definitely works fine for me.

It might be worth resetting the WeTek OpenELEC back to factory settings and starting again, something does seem to have gone wrong somewhere

Right, on that screen, click on the '*** TV' network name and then click the Edit button.

In the box that appears, in the 'Pre-defined Muxes' drop down menu have you selected '> 28.2E:Astra'?
Also worth checking, in the 'Orbital Position' drop down menu have you selected '28.2E : Astra 2A/2C/2E/2F/Eutelsat 28A'?

I had a look at that perl script a few nights ago but I don't think there's any way to actually run perl scripts within OpenELEC on the Wetek.

Would like to know if anyone knows any different though :)

Have you enabled the SSH service during initial set up of OpenELEC?

If so when connecting to it you need to use port 22 and the username is: root and password is: openelec

As for having trouble tuning in to 28.2e, what problem are you having? How far in to the tutorial did you get before you noticed things weren't going as they should?

I'm not sure if this will make a difference but when you were configuring the DVB-S networks have you selected the correct satellites in the 'Pre-defined muxes' drop down menu.
From your screenshots it looks as though you haven't. Try doing so and see if that fixes the problem you're having

So as I mentioned in my guide to setting up Series Link recordings, if you're using a USB Hard Drive to store your recordings on, it is important to know where your Hard Drive is mounted on your WeTek play box.

You can sometimes find what you need directly using OpenELEC by going to System, then to System info and then to Storage, but for me the mount point name was too long and it wouldn't display the whole name.

An easier way to find what you need is to connect to your WeTek using an SSH client, PuTTY is a popular free client available for Windows. Please note that SSH needs to be enabled within OpenELEC for this to work. Scooterbuk explains how to enable SSH HERE if you need to know how to enable it.

With PuTTY or any other SSH client connect to your WeTek's IP Address, and the port if you need to enter it is 22. When asked to login, the username should be root and the password should be openelec

When you've logged in, just simply type the following command

    Code
    df -h

    and hit enter
This will list all of the storage devices on the WeTek Play.
An external USB hard drive should be listed as

    Code
    /dev/sda1

at the end of that line is the Mount Point Name and this is what you need to type in to the 'Recording System Path' that I mentioned in my Series Link guide

As an example, if you look at my screenshot here, you will see that my external USB hard drive has a Mount Point name of

    Code
    /var/media/sda1-usb-TOSHIBA_External

    e163edf3dfc.jpg

OK first of all I want to quickly run through a very important setting within the DVR Configuration.

From the TVHeadend Web GUI click on 'Configuration' and then click 'Recording'

On the right hand side of the screen are a number of options relating to your DVR config. Some potentially useful ones are the option to add extra recording times before and after a recording. This may be useful if you find your series link recordings consistently miss the beginning or end of a program each time it records. The settings here will affect every recording globally, although you can alter the settings for each recording or series link individually as well.
The 'Recording System Path' is important as this is where you tell TVHeadend to store your recordings. You can enter an NFS Mount Point here or if you are using an external USB hard drive you can enter the mount point for that here. If you are using an NFS Mount Point you probably already know what to enter here. If you are using a USB hard drive and you don't know what it's Mount Point is, have a look HERE for a way to find out

OK, the other vitally important option on this screen is 'Remove All Unsafe Characters From Filename:'
You MUST select this option. I have found certain things fail to record without this option ticked
    74cec88d0.jpg

Everything else is pretty much optional for however you want it set. I would however leave the File Permissions and Directory Permissions as they are.

Once you are finished here, click the Save button near-ish the top left of the screen.

Now click the 'Electronic Program Guide' tab (This assumes that you have correctly configured the EPG Grabber, if you haven't then no programs will show up here. If you need help getting the EPG Grabber working then please have a read through MY OTHER GUIDE.
In the 'Search title...' box type whatever program you want to Series Link.
You should be presented with a list of all instances found for your search.
    fcf77770bb.jpg
Find the relevant program from the list that you want to Series Link (make sure it's the correct channel and has the correct start time etc) and then click on it.
On the next box that appears you simply have to click on 'Record Series' and that's it, job done
    1cd3caf700ad5588e1160.jpg

This guide assumes you have already got TVHeadend installed on your WeTek / OpenELEC system along with OSCAM to be able to read your subscriptions for encrypted channels. Snifferdsx has already got this covered in various guides on here so I feel I don't need to go over that again.
This guide is purely for getting TVHeadend working specifically with 28.2e

First thing to do after loading up the TVHeadend Web GUI is to click on the 'Configuration' tab, then click 'DVB Inputs' then click 'Networks'
    cd3816e8ce7ae6a66511c748.jpg
Now click on the 'Add' button and from the box that appears choose DVB-S Network from the drop down menu
    c724a3ef5c3f1fcefe49f3f.jpg
In the next box you must give the network a name, this can be whatever you want it to be. Select 'Network Discovery'
'Pre-defined Muxes' should be set to '28.2E:Astra' from the drop down menu and 'Orbital Position' should be set to '28.2E : Astra 2A/2C/2E/2F/Eutelsat 28A' from the drop down menu.
    704d19b.jpg
Now click the Save button and then select the TV Adapters tab
Select the 'Availink AVL6211+AV2011 DVB-S/S2 : DVB-S #0' which is the third option in the list. On the right hand side ensure that 'Enabled' 'Over-the-air EPG' 'Power Save' and 'Initial Scan' are all ticked. Click the Save button
    d18a1b.jpg
Do exactly the same for the second 'Availink AVL6211+AV2011 DVB-S/S2 : DVB-S #0' which is the sixth option in the list.
Select 'Universal LNB Only' from the list, it should be the fourth option. On the right hand side, from the 'Networks' drop down menu select whatever you called the network that you set up earlier in this tutorial. Also ensure that 'Turn off LNB when idle' is ticked. Click the Save button
    00a609d93cc0.jpg
Do exactly the same for the second 'Universal LNB Only' which is the seventh option in the list.
Now select the 'Muxes' button. This should show you a list of all the frequencies that have been scanned in from 28.2e along with how many services / channels have been found at each frequency. If the 'Scan Status' or 'Scan Result' columns show as 'PEND' then give it a bit more time and try refreshing the page in a couple of minutes
    44ca9ffa53d789f581fd5.jpg
Next you must click the 'Channel / EPG' tab and then click 'Bouquets' This should bring up a list of all the Bouquets that have been scanned in from 28.2e. You need to find the one that is relevant for your region of the UK. I've noticed there seems to be duplicates of each region, I'm not sure why this is but I just selected the one with the highest number of seen services for my region, this number should be 730 I believe.
Tick the following: 'Enabled' 'Rescan' 'Auto-map to Channels' and 'Create Tag' Then select the Save button
    ebd0e35b178c211c90b9.jpg
Now we'll move on to configuring the EPG grabber so you can have a nice 7 day EPG.
    Click the 'EPG Grabber' button.
Most of the options in here don't need altering. The important one you must select is 'OpenTV: *** UK' then click 'Save Configuration' and then 'Trigger OTA EPG Grabber'
    7a77ccc4e7ee6d.jpg
Now click the 'Channel Tags' button and click the 'Add' button. This is where you are going to set up each bouquet to store your channels in, eg Entertainment, News, Sports etc so you don't have to trawl through a long list of channels everytime you want to watch a specific channel. For each Channel Tag / Bouquet that you create make sure that you tick the 'Enabled' option.

Once you have set these up you can click on the 'Channels' button.
To make things easier, it's probably best to ensure this list is sorted by the Number column in ascending order. Also, in the bottom right hand corner of the screen it is probably best to choose to display only 25 channels per page just whilst you are doing this bit.
Now then, if you double click in the 'Tags' column for each channel, you should be given a drop down menu where you can choose which bouquet you would like to put each channel in to.
Work your way through the list of channels, but before you move to the next page of channels, make sure you click the Save button else it will forget what you have done for that page

Right, once you have done all this you should be set up and good to go for 28.2e
I have tried to make this guide as straight forward as I can. Apologies if it is a little hard to follow, it's been quite a while since I have put any sort of a tutorial together.

If you have any questions or get stuck at any point I'll be more than happy to help out
