my understand from a guide I read somewhere is you have to have an LNB for each satellite so the motor will work otherwise it'll never move.
here's guide someone gave me for basic setup. Hope it helps.
To add and configure new satellites in an Enigma2 receiver like the SF4008 or SF8008 Octagon.
Menu, Setup, Service Searching, Tuner Configuration, Tuner A,
Configuration Mode should be set to Advanced.
Next, go to Satellite and here you can use your right or left arrow to configure the satellites and add them to
your list.
We will use SES 3 C and then SES 3 Ku for an example.
Select 103.0W C-band DirecTV 10/12 & SES 3
Cursor down to LNB and it will say not configured. Use your right arrow and change to LNB1
Priority: Auto
LOF: C-Band
Voltage mode: Polarization
Increased voltage: no
Tone mode: Band
DiSEqC mode will be set to none. If you are using a DiSEqC switch, then set to 1.0
Fast DiDEqC: no
Toneburst: None
DiSEqC 1.0 command will be set to None. This is where you set up the PORT of your switch. For example, if
you have C-Band going to Port 1 or A of your switch, then set this to Port A.
Sequence repeat: no
Force Legacy Signal Stats: no
Then look at the bottom of the screen and you will see that the GREEN button is for Save. Press the GREEN
button.
Then EXIT and go to Automatic Scan, Manual Scan or Blind scan and you can do a scan.
You can also go to Signal Finder and select the Satellite name you want to scan and then input the Frequency,
Polarity and Symbol rate and see if you get a lock and if you do, then you can Hit the GREEN button to scan
those parameters.

For a Ku Satellite, here are the steps.
Select 103.0W Ku-band DirecTV 10/12 & SES 3
Cursor down to LNB and change to LNB2 (So C-Band will be on LNB1 and Ku-Band will be on LNB2 for all of your satellite setups.
Priority: Auto
LOF: Circular LNB (you will set all of your Ku Linear satellites to Circular, as this has the LO setting of 10750)
Voltage mode: Polarization
Increased voltage: no
Tone mode: Band
DiSEqC mode will be set to none. If you are using a DiSEqC switch, then set to 1.0
Fast DiSEqC: no
Toneburst: None
DiSEqC 1.0 command will be set to None. This is where you set up the PORT of your switch. For example, if you have C-Band
going to Port 1 or A of your switch, then set this to Port A. If you have Ku-Band on Port 2 or B, then set this to Port B
Then hit the GREEN button to SAVE.
If the DiSEqC switching is not working, then go back and change the DiSEqC mode to 1.1 and then make your settings on the
DiSEqC 1.1 command line.
