It is a gift i dont think i dare buy any more boxes but for anyone who wants just a single sat tuner this has got to be the greatest give bargain

Can anyone help you buy an online channel list? why would you want to buy a channel list when great forums like this one have them on there boards --most boxes can either be updated manually using either a channel edit programme or DBE or automatic with AUTOBOUQUET but its a simple matter of looking through the boards finding a channel list and updating your box and thanking the guy who uploaded it --its honestly that easy for most boxes

This is a really informative thread and i thank riverstyx for bringing this to everyones attention

My collection is like yours lol and i praise you for showing us yours mine is in the spare bedroom in the drawers of the double bed lol but its obvious like me you have been around the hobby many many years and my collection consists of XREND-XSPEED-VU-OPTIBOX-OPTICUM-OCTIGON-TM-AND MY GOLDEN OLDIES FROM MY STARTUP TIME DRAKE AND ECHOSTAR LOL i had to skip a drake that cost me 1k and it broke my heart lol but i keep my boxes for memories as some are worthless

onto a point made in this friendly debate about the ET9000 by clarke tech i read a lot were having issues just like someone said about the earlier 9000 but truthfully and honestly i was using my original 9000 until last year without clock issues or any other issue that was reported so maybe i am just lucky with that box lol

I have enjoyed this debate and it is interesting to read others views and canthakit makes a great point in that he has owned and still does own both VU DUO2 AND XTREND so he is perhaps the best person to form a opinion and he gave a honest opinion but we all have favourites my old echostars still are sort of favourites of mine but useless today as i dont run a 36v motor system anymore nor do i watch analogue lol but its good things can be debated in a friendly manner--thanks guys for some great posts that got me posting again

Great sensible diplomatic post Fano and there are many great recievers out there with just as much going for them as VU although guys please dont have a go as i said im not comparing just stating that many have same spec and its always a personell preference and if mine tends to be German boxes so be it thats my choice and i respect others choice however i dont understand someone having a go at XTREND if they havent used one but my choice is based on my experiance of using a lot of boxes from different makers and this was how i based my opinion im not working for forum sponsor or anything just answering posts that relate to a type of box i use at the end of the day the type of box could be discussed all day but it comes down to personell choice

You seem to form opinions without answering the question have you used one ? i said myself i cannot compare my XTRENDS to vu duo2 as i had not used them but you form opinions without using them maybe you may change your mind if you did --by the way i know of VU support i have a solo and duo and dont need a education in it ive as i said been around this hobby longer than most but i do prefer the boxes as i said thats my preference and ive used most boxes --i agree totally with everything kari says obviously like me he has used them and is very happy with them and obviously like me he has used many boxes --i do not form a opinion on boxes that i have not tested as i said i cannot compare them to VU DUO2 and i respect the many guys opinions of there findings of the duo2 but as i say i dont form a opinion of a box i havent used if you have used the ET8000 or indeed the ET10,000 THEN i would be surprised at your outburst about XTREND

I never said they were in the same league i said i could not compare them as i had not used the solo2 or duo2 but having been in this hobby since the very begining nearly 26 years ive used a lot of boxes RIGHT FROM THE EARLY DAYS OF ANALOGUE until now and own a lot of boxes and as i said i get to test boxes and i gave my honest opinion of XTREND buying a box is very much a personell choice but i read what a box is capable of doing and of course what others think of the box and i have never read a bad report of XTRENDS --have you used the new ET8000?

When XTREND first started to produce the ET9000 there was a version of black hole available but support stopped but black hole is not the only image and although ive not used a solo2 or duo2 so cannot compare ive used many boxes and XTREND is a very good box always rock steady and reliable --personally i get to use many boxes but my favourites as you can see are XTREND --as far as build lets not forget that although they are German they are actually made in Korea just like VU so they are very well made and also as i said earlier if you google the ET8000 for price i would bet honestly you cannot find a cheaper deal than the forum sponsor

Not tried mate to be truthfull -this last few weeks ive been playing with my xtrend 8000 so not played as much with the xspeed LX2

I noticed this myself on the LX2 with VIX when restarting gui you end up restarting network strange but really a 2 minute job but its a strange one

I have a few xtrends and i have had the 8000 a few weeks they are superb mate just like all xtrends they are rock solid and as canthackit says never miss a beat the xtrend is a very reliable box and the price the sponsor sells them for is unbeatable --mine i got with 3 sat tuners

GREAT answer and many thanks i just needed that clarifying as i have not used a triple tuner on a motorised dish before much preferring in the past single or dual tuners but never a triple so thanks very much for a great explanation

Hi friends i have a 1meter motorised dish with quad LNB 4 FEEDS and TM2600 MOTOR im expecting a xtrend 8000 triple sat tuner does anyone know the correct tuner settings i.e. usuals tuner A SIMPLE -POSITINER-LONG-LAT-
TUNER B IS IT EQUAL TO TUNER A OR SECOND FEED FROM TUNER A
then what is tuner C

I should know this as ive been motorised since the very begining but having tried another triple tuner i found issues with the tuners not been reconised and will it depend on image for the settings above -i realise this is a difficult question to answer as i dont have the box yet (im expecting it) but maybe someone with a motored dish and a quad or triple tuner reciever has experiance of it --i appreciate any advice

Got to agree with you 100% and personally i would not buy a clone now for the exact reasons you have mentioned many of the original boxes are very much cheaper than they used to be so making them affordable to most people without the chance of them been loaded with a timebomb image and as you have said warranty plays a massive part when considering a new box.
It is of course down to someones own personell budget and maybe they can save a few pounds by buying a clone and some get really good write ups and personally i have nothing against anyone buying/using a clone as it gives them a insight into this great hobby and at the end of the day all boxes will allow us all to watch TV.

+Clones price is usually very much cheaper - Sometimes hardware can be a failure
+Many forums and teams support them - Warranty is not always honoured

At the end of the day it is a total personell choice and of course what your pocket allows i think some clones are very well supported and seem to be used a lot without issue --personally i think many original boxes now have become cheaper so allowing many people to buy original boxes but the two things in favour of the original box is the warranty (you dont have to send a box abroad if you bought it abroad) and the support is sometimes better for original boxes --but the clone still allows us to do what we like to do best watch TV lol

A booster is just a small amplifier but your LNB is designed to block noise the posts above are correct while a booster will give a greater signal it amplifies noise so it doesnt always mean you get a good picture quite the reverse sometimes making situations worse

I can cetainly see your point because unlike the days im talking about when boxes averaged 1k each new boxes are brought out every month or so now and the hobby is changing that quick its very hard to keep up to date with it but my philosiphy is buy from a trusted source because of support and warranty for instance if i bought from china and something went wrong then would they repair it and would i incur postage charges i have admittedly bought one of my XTRENDS direct from Germany but up to now i have not encountered problems but in this day and age boxes change very quickly so i do see your point but personally i still like to buy from a source i know will support the box

Have you set your epg to load to external hdd if it is loading to flash it could explain the crash

When i came into the hobby it was common to pay 1k and above for boxes like drake and echostar -monterray was even more expensive i cried recently taken a few of these old boxes to the skips lol so the boxes have shot down in price over the years --just to mention the sponsor mentioned warranty which is important but what i must say as a buyer from the WOS is if i order one day it is delivered the next that is first class in my opinion

As you can see from some of the boxes i use i like German boxes this is my preferrance everyone has there own favourites but i must say i have never had a issue with German boxes and this is why i would buy another GOLDEN INTERSTAR but also the price is unbelievable for a box that offers so much.

I have not used zgemma but have used the solo and the golden interstar LX1 AND LX2 from forum sponsor i also test many boxes i can recommend the LX boxes and i rate them as the best value for money box i have ever used and my LX2 has become my main box i am so delighted in this box i will be ordering more for friends but the main thing is not just how good and its GOOD!!! the performance of the box is but the support that is offered by teams and knowing the box will be supported in the future and i know the sponsor will make sure its supported --i cannot speak for any of the other boxes listed by the sponsor but i have well tested the golden interstar and i rate them highly but im sure as always all the boxes he lists are very well supported
