True, just tested with Zgemma H9.2H: BBC iPlayer in E2iPlayer and it's not working for "catch-up", only Live channels...

However, with Kodi, in the same box, not only do Live channels work but "catch-up" also works with iPlayer WWW > Highlights > Collection : Documentaries > Inside Europe, for instance... See the attached photo, as it is running on my laptop and H9.2H... ;)

Which box, which version of the image, i.e. did you do all the SW updates, did you install Service App, where are you, are you using a VPN, have you installed a different skin, do you.............?????

Or should I gaze into the chicken entrails, perhaps summon the God of Thunder and ask him for your details? How is anyone to help you if you don't....? Arghh... Loads of questions are like that - no details whatsoever and yet...

On top of that, I really made a major effort here, spent half a night chasing it all up, finding a way, I then set it up on a silver platter and yet... you tried it with "Kodi Lite"... Well...

C'mon, m8, pull your socks up and do the right thing here... You've seen me do it...

So, some news, fresh from the presssssss(still sizzlin')... :rasta2bigsmoke0gf1:

Whomever has problems playing certain channels/streaming/playback - please, see here for more details:

    BBC iplayer and ITV player

"Pure2 has switched to ffmpeg 4.1.1 and gstreamer 15.2.xx ,so perhaps it is good idea to keep Pure2 version of ffmpeg in the image. No idea what is happening on the E2iPlayer server." (Delfi)

    Moreover, in FNC media players:

"... most film plugins are updated!

    http://pur-e2.club/OU/images/index.php?dir=Plugins/

Amongst other things in change log:

-some plugins can change the player now, like YIFY-FNC can do it via the menu, while others, Like Plass, Filme, Serien... in cfg.cfg file" (Franc)

Soooo, as ever with PurE2: the best option - is to have options! And PurE2 is the best in precisely that! Giving users options aplenty to make their PurE2 - their own, to serve their needs/wants/preferences, i.e. the greatest malleability while having the highest quality usability!!

    AMEN!!! :laugh1:

    :cool1:

Ten or so years ago I tested it all carefully, as I had some young and an older guest who were not to just "stumble upon" those channels! I remember my boxes slowing down considerably to the point of not being able to normally open channels, even those which were NOT encrypted and not XXX. So, I had to delete those channels while my guests were visiting but I did not enable parental controls back then, as it rendered the whole thing unusable. Hence my question...

Perhaps we did not have the same boxes, perhaps we didn't use the same images, perhaps we didn't use the same lists, perhaps... But I know what I experienced and why I didn't bother with it, in the meantime...

That is not my experience, I am happy to report, m8... That is, despite the problems, of which we have to mention at least 2...

What you need to know is this:

    A) Use Gstreamer for now!

    I am quoting Delfi now:

"Pure2 has switched to ffmpeg 4.1.1 and gstreamer 15.2.xx ,so perhaps it is good idea to keep Pure2 version of ffmpeg in the image. No idea what is happening on the E2iPlayer server."

    So, what I did was:

    1) ServiceApp > Gstplayer.

    2) E2iPlayer > before you get to a channel/stream/playback > blue button > change the player > External gstplayer...

==> in both cases (E2iPlayer & Kodi) we have positive results...

    B) Moreover, in Edision OS mio 4K, for instance, I have problems with OpenVPN. Once I killed it I got it working. After that I had to mess with ExtePlayer3 or ExtGstplayer but I got it to work, as mentioned, thanx to Delfi's warning and my bloody-mindedness... :laugh1::rasta2bigsmoke0gf1: Look at the images:

OK, having chatted with Ciefp, I had to check and double check my previously established "facts" re. the Parental lock and how that functioned... Namely, long ago, machines were weaker and it would all slow down considerably if one had a PIN activated... Now, this is not so.

So, what Ciefp does is he activates PIN/Parental Control, on all 18+ channels (XXX), when he does the list in DB Edit. However, this is not activated unless one goes into MENU > Setup > Parental Control and then:

    1) Protect services has to be = YES

    and then one must

    2) CHANGE PIN (the default PIN is 0000)

    and then

    3) Save.

Then, any channel deemed and signed as "18+" will ask you for PIN.

Also, the Parental Control settings in MENU will also be protected by a PIN.

In the same panel one has an option to protect various MENUs/"screens", just in case you have a mischievous kid who likes to change things on the STB, without actually knowing what s/he is doing.... So, useful! :)

Just to share the info, if it can help people with kids... ;)

Well, yeah but - XXX in a bouquet with "kids"? :eye-tongue:

Btw, anyone with a different experience than mine with "parental controls" - at my end, a while back when I tested it, everything slowed down considerably...?? I suppose with the new, powerful machines it should not be an issue...

Not sure about this: you see, you give it the command to search for channels but it must search for TPs first. How many did you get?

Then, according to those, it searches for channels, from what it looks like to me....

Now, I am not an expert and I might be wrong on this but...

I compare this to Alien5 and Edision OS mio 4K...

One more thing: I do use the "search network" setting, too.

Anyway, do tell, if you are going to experiment - if you have the time - if you, say, leave just 1 TP in the satellites.xml file, what do you get, please?

Thanx for the PM and answers you have given me in it, m8.

Hmmm, strange... I am not sure but this doesn't seem quite right, since I regularly find almost 1000 channels on 28E, having installed Ciefp's list (so satellites.xml file in the machine is his)...

Now, to test it all properly, I did the regular manual search - before I did the SW Update - and I found 942 channels with H7S + T90 setup, 28E being my second LNB, of 11 LNBs on T90.

Then, I updated my SW (no need for re-flashing, well done developers, a simple SW Update did it!) and I did a Blind search - I got 76 TPs (stuck a bit on 24, 37, 61) and 965 channels.

Interesting - when I went to the living room where H7 lives, to see how far it went, I found that at 54% of blind scan it already got 942 channels...
