    Hi.

The PuTTY toolkit also includes the PLINK.EXE utility, with which it is possible to send commands to SSH or Telnet via the Windows command line.

Using the command-line connection tool Plink

For example, if you need to restart the Enigma2-GUI, in your set-top box:

    plink.exe -batch -v -t -ssh IP_ADDRESS -l root -pw YOUR_PASSWORD "/sbin/init 4 && sleep 5 && /sbin/init 3"

Of course, store passwords on your computer, is not safe way other than store the password in your own head only.

I'm not a Jedi Maker Xtream plugin developer.

I don't even use it, so I can't advise, sorry.

If you have detected a BUG, report it here (Github registration required):

    Or here to discussion:

And KiddaC then I guess will answer you.

In the crashlog file there are some entries that justify the crash of the Enigma2 GUI system. From this file, you can find out exactly where the problem is. However, the problem is your mentioned Jedi Maker Xtream plugin. It's rather good for Jedi Maker plugin developers... to fix it if it's a real bug and not just some temporary little problem.

Even if Enigma2 freezes or is disrupted, you can still connect via PuTTY while booting the set-top box. When Linux (set-top box) starts, wait about 30 seconds. Then... when Enigma2 starts (visible text from Enigma2 or the spinner icon), you will quickly connect via PuTTY and hard stop Enigma with the command:

    init 4; sleep 5; killall -9 enigma2

You also have plenty of time, counting down the seconds, to connect via FTP, browse the directory and quickly copy the crashlog to your hard drive in your PC.

However, if you managed to stop Enigma2 and stayed connected via PuTTY (via a terminal connection) ... then you can uninstall this whole Jedi Maker plugin:

    Code
    opkg update
opkg list | grep -i jedi
    opkg remove <the-package-name-to-remove>
    ### Use the package name found by the previous command, as for example:
    ### opkg remove enigma2-plugin-extensions-jedimakerxtream
    reboot

@kashmir nope, he has a problem with the plugin as he wrote - with "Jedi Maker Xtream".

OpenPLi is a very good Enigma2. It is very stable and very fast. However, like any Enigma2 distribution, it requires a lot of settings after installation (allow the display of the picon / channel logo, change the font size and number of lines in the channel list, etc. etc. etc.).

    Hi.

As it is written there. Download and then post to the discussion, the crash-log file.

Connect to your set-top box with the help of an FTP client and you will then find the crashlog file in the appropriate folder.

However, it would be best to post it on the OpenPLi discussion forum here: https://forums.openpli.org/forum/55-en-enduser-support/

    EDIT:

This problem can be eliminated, as temporary, by uninstalling the plugin - using the PuTTY application - i.e. using the terminal connection to a set-top box, with a Telnet or SSH communication network protocol.

    Hi.

It is not enough to create a directory in the plugin configuration. You must also assign (set) this directory - in the plugin configuration.

If you use the same channel lists on both Enigma2 distributions and therefore the same picons, then why not use the same and the same directory on the external disk? For example "/media/usb/picon".

    OBH:

According to the source code here: https://github.com/OpenBlackHo…nts/Renderer/Picon.py#L12

...this search path is also included ("/media/usb" + "/picon") there.

    BH:

However, the default directory "/media/usb/picon" does not included in BlackHole image: https://github.com/BlackHole/e…nts/Renderer/Picon.py#L18

...so there must to be created a symbolic link.

In most Enigma2 distributions is used as the default directory for picons, just this: "/usr/share/enigma2/picon" (in the internal flash drive). If this directory does not exist, you must create it, of course.

    //// EDIT:

You can also use a symbolic-link as a redirect-dir in your new installed Enigma2:

    Code
    mkdir -p /usr/share/enigma2/picon
    ln -s /media/usb/picon /usr/share/enigma2/picon

However, I would not use the OpenBlackHole Enigma2 - it's outdated. Use BlackHole (https://github.com/BlackHole/enigma2) instead. I think both use a different Enigma2 distribution as a source. So in my opinion, neither of these two (BH and OBH) is a happy solution. You'd better use and get used to the most popular and fastest OpenPLi. It is the most popular and so far the fastest I have seen in my short practice.

So uninstall it. The ZeroTier network driver in your Enigma2 distribution may not work. Unfortunately. You need to ask the creators of your Enigma2 OpenViX distribution to compile the ZeroTier client for this Enigma2 OpenViX as well. However, it is possible that you are using the old version 6.0 ... and that 6.1 may already include the ZeroTier client as well. I don't really know.

    You can also try this:

    ifconfig -a

    And also this:

    cat /var/log/messages | grep zt

Do not send output to the discussion if you do not want to publish any VPN - IP addresses (if it works). Only if in private message. However, this ZeroTier on your Enigma2 will probably not work as I have already written. You should contact the creators of OpenVIX:

    OpenViX, often cloned, never bettered…

    ViX Team Images Support Discussion

    OpenViX
OpenViX has 11 repositories available. Follow their code on GitHub.
    github.com

ROFL... but check it... for example... to list of all network interfaces on your linux-system:

    ifconfig

Check the "zt....." network interface in listing, i.e. ZeroTier as a virtual network interface.

I've already written answers to your private message. Try to first find and install ZeroTier from the feed server of your Enigma2 distribution:

If you can't find it there, try another Enigma2 distribution, but it probably won't work, because these network drivers in ZeroTier VPN are of course very dependent on the system libraries as well as the Linux-kernel version. So... then... you can also to try the IPK package from OpenPLi Enigma. As first, try the new ZeroTier version. If you got an error, then try also old version:

    http://downloads.openpli.org/f….5-r0.5_armv7ahf-neon.ipk (direct copy: zerotier_1.6.5-r0.5_armv7ahf-neon.ipk)

    ... and / or :

    http://downloads.openpli.org/f….6-r0.0_armv7ahf-neon.ipk (direct copy: zerotier_1.4.6-r0.0_armv7ahf-neon.ipk)

Both have I think bad support for open-source Enigma2 distributions :(.

In addition, as someone wrote, Vu+ is already losing support altogether. Also, the VTi image for Vu+ devices as a special Enigma2, is no longer being developed. So it looks pretty bad.

I recommend some of the more "free" boxes, and these are:

    Zgemma, Octagon, Gigablue, .....

From these, choose one that has all the parameters you personally require. There are very many models. For example, Zgemma has a lot of different set top box models.

    1. you need to write what Enigma2 distribution you are using... not every Enigma2 distribution has this ZeroTier in its feed / server... although it has already been compiled to work under Linux set-top boxes, it depends on the compatibility of system libraries

    2. VPN networks are not for IT illiterates... it is to neccessary to know at least the simple knowledges about computer networking... unfortunately

Sadly we do not have dm9x0, so we have put it in sort of unsupported state. We had conflicting reports with v65 versions (work yes/no). Until we get the box, no sense to punish users or ourselves.

OK but what's wrong there ? With what ? NIC driver is faulty ? Or some system libraries ? Or what's wrong there ? Or FTP daemon itself is bugged ?

I don't share the content of my private PC there. I really have nothing to worry about. If you're doing this... if you're sharing your private data on a PC over a VPN, then that's your problem.

BTW, an experienced IT technician can access any VPN. You have to want it and you don't have to be stupid.

Although VPNs are secure, they are provided by total loosers. It's similar to Linux administration. If you are not an expert in Linux security, then anyone will to destroy your Linux. Definitely if he gets direct physical access to the PC.

Understand plese, that nothing in the world is completely safe !!! And never will be. Namely, everything that a person has encrypted, so everything can also be decrypted.

ZeroTier is a great VPN network that is very efficient and free.

BTW, not even your Skype, Facebook, Instagram, etc. they are not safe. There, too, you can read in the license terms that company owners have the right to handle your private conversations as they see fit. Everything is in their possession and you are unfortunately just an ordinary "visitor" in their world.

You don't know anything about the world yet and you came here to write "hate" on the topic of internet security. It's ridiculous indeed.

hello how do you change the Boot Logo on a boot in the novaler 4K receiver. thank you have a good day everyone.

    Hi.

It depends on the Enigma2 distribution you are using.

In the case of OpenATV or OpenPLi firmware, just copy (and overwrite) the bootlogo file here: /usr/share/bootlogo.mvi and then restart.

I recommend backing up the original file first and then overwriting it with a new file !

If you can't find the right .MVI file in your set-top box, try searching it, via the Linux-Shell:

    find / -type f -iname "*logo*mvi"

Hi dudes. I recommend to use a simple and free - ZeroTier. Just create your free account on the ZeroTier website. Only very small and negligible restrictions are used there !!! ZeroTier VPN works on all known platforms (including Linux and also Enigma2 set-top boxes). Join the ZeroTier VPN network is a matter of one command in Enigma2 (via the Linux Shell). Then just enable the new appropriate VPN client via the ZeroTier website (i.e. on the website with your ZeroTier account). VPN settings are also made via the ZeroTier website (in your free account).
