    Thanks for the replies.

    I originally built the server using the simplebuild method on this site. I upgraded the server recently to ubuntu 16.04 but did not need the omnikey until now. If I run pcsc _scan it reports the card ( conax ) details so I presume the omnikey is operating correctly ????. The reader will not show up on the oscam interface when I set protocol = pcsc. When set to protocol = newcamd it shows up in the interface but will not display any card details.

    Update.

    Thought it might be worth mentioning that this line '' TB(1) = 00 --> VPP is not electrically connected'' when I run the pcsc scan .

    Hi Codar,

    I think you are correct about the omnikey drivers. I ran a command to install drivers and pcsc tools. Hope this is correct. Now when I run pcsc scan I can see information about the omnikey and it tells me that the card is inserted. I am running ubuntu 16.04. I think that I am closer now . Just need tho get oscam reader config correct.

    Also, when I use protocol = pcsc in oscam config the reader will not show up in oscam UI. When I change to protocol = newcamd it shows up but shows no card info.

    Hi All,

    My bedroom VU+ duo which was running my 0b01 conax card is on is last legs so I decided to run it in my PC. I have an Omnikey connected to the PC and copied my oscam reader configs from my VU to my PC. I thought that I would just need to change the protocol and devise to get it running, but how wrong I was. Here is the config that I tried.

    [reader]

    label = NC +

    protocol = pcsc # ( tried newcamd also)

    device = 0# ( tried 1,2 etc )

    RSAkey = xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    caid = 0B01

    mhz = 500

    cardmhz = 368

    group = 1

    emmcache = 1,3,2

    detect = cd # ( not sure about this at all )

    ident = 0B01:000000

    emmcache = 1,5,2

    saveemm-u = 1

    saveemm-s = 1

    saveemm-g = 1

    auprovid = 000B01

    This works in my VU duo no problem. When I run the oscam usb scan option in the Web Interface the omnikey shows up. Oscam reader will not show any info from the card.

    Anyone any idea please.

    Thanks Master G,

    I got the problem sorted. It turned out to be the ethernet interface eth0 name. I discovered that in the rules file after the upgrade this eth0 was replaced with another name. The easiest way for me to fix this with my limited Linux skills was to match this name in my network interfaces. All working again. Hope this will help other forum members if they have the same problem after doing an upgrade.

    Hi All,

    Did a silly thing and ran upgrade from 14.04 to 16.04 and now my network isn't working. I checked in network interfaces and all my static settings are still there. Need help as i am struggling.

    UPDATE,

    I took a look at the oscam logs and saw a notice something like ''temporary failure in name resolution'' and after further searching I went down the road of a network DNS problem on my server. I ran the command /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/head and noticed the file was empty so I put nameserver 8.8.8.8 and this started to yield results. I can now ping http://www.google.com using putty which I could not before and I was now able to connect and see pictures from my friends server, however after a reboot the servers oscam listen port seems to be not working. I ran sudo netstat -plnt and can see other ports listening but not my oscam one. The port is in my oscam.conf file and was working until I rebooted. Anyone any ideas to get main listening port working again.

    Hi,

    Upgraded from old version oscam to 11431 and now have problem connecting to N line that my mate gave me to put on my server. I have confirmed that his line is working ok by putting in into a box and seeing pictures. Don't know what I am doing wrong as I have the same configs that was running with the older version. This line shows up as a proxie reader but is not connecting to mate. Tried with and without caid and ident. I have a box running another card in my bedroom as a second proxie and it works fine.

    Here are my configs .

    Hi All,

    I have mgcamd running on my Vu with the latest vix image. Problem is that I have a C line from my mates server which works fine. I need mgcamd as it runs my 0960 card perfectly, so I have mates C line in cccamd.list. in usr/keys. All works perfectly between cccam and oscam servers clearing channels etc but after about 20 mins I get freezing on the oscam channels. If I put both lines on a basic box like the amiko mini they run perfectly all the time. The problem seems to be that one of the cams goes to sleep.

    Pulling my hair out.

    Thanks guys for your replies,

    I copied to laptop first and ten to new machine. Didn't realize the wife had so many gardening programs recorded.:)

    Hi All,

    After many years my VU+ duo is going into semi retirement to my bedroom. I have a new e2 box running the same vix image installed on it as my VU. I would like to transfer the recordings on my VU to my new box. Can I do this over the lan in my house. Any suggestions welcome.

    Hi All,

    My old CS PC server got hit by lightening at the weekend so I put together a new one using a spare PC. Not a big job as I have copies of my Oscam files etc and things seemed to go OK. My Problem is that I can browse to oscam from another PC on my network and see that its running ok but it would not connect to my friends server. After some checking I discovered that in terminal I can ping any other devises on my network but I cannot ping the outside world eg, ping 8.8.8.8 or http://www.ebay.com. etc. It might be worth mentioning that I had to replace my router also but this seems ok as it gives me internet access. I also have firewalls etc disabled. Here are my network interfaces settings. As you can see I tried a static IP setup which always worked for me. I have left some settings # out at the moment should I need to re-instate later.

    #The loopback network interface

    auto lo

    iface lo inet loopback

    # The primary network interface

    auto p1p1

    iface p1p1 inet dhcp

    #address 192.168.*.*

    #gateway 192.168.*.*

    #dns-nameserver 8.8.8.8

    #netmask 255.255.255.0

    #network 192.168.*.0

    #broadcast 192.168.* 255

    The only difference that I can see from the above compared with my old server is the P1p1 which I understand reefers to the network chip used in this PC ??????.

    Any help or suggestions appreciated.

    Hi All,

    Going back to an old problem now that I have some spare time.

    I have an N line from a mate which I have on my PC server which works perfectly. It's for a 0960 caid. He has sent me an N line for sly Germany which I cannot get to run. I tested this N line on a box and it runs fine, but wont run in my server. Here are my config's.

    This N line runs fine.
