UPDATE.

I installed Ncam 1.1 in the alien which runs the card perfectly. I now am trying to share Meo 1814 from the alien to my bedroom using oscam, however I get pictures for about 20 seconds or so and then zero. This is when I run Mgcam in the bedroom, oscam on client box gives no picture at all. Almost there.

Leave well enough alone, as my late father used to say. However I have been trying for a long while to get my Meo 1814 card to share without success. When I run it in an alien mini with sh4 oscam it runs ok so I thought that my version of oscam in my server is my problem. I tried all sorts of configs etc but with no success. I was trying at first to pass the oscam which reads the card to cccam for sharing without success. My approach is now to read and share in oscam but still no joy. To clarify, I am using the alien with oscam as a 'test jig' to check if my configs are reading the card correctly. Maybe this is not the correct approach.

Checked all the above as this is the procedure I was using but just in case I was missing something I carried out your suggestions again.

When the pc server is rebooted with the new oscam I notice that the omnikey appears dead ( no led lit ) . I cannot browse to oscam. If I revert back to the old version r9584 all is running again.

I get,

no such file or directory.

If I FTP to the above oscam is there.

Ran a command line in putty and it reports back,

CPU pentium 3.000Ghz

Intel.

size 3ghz

width 64 bits

clock 800mhz

x-86 -64

Just in case it makes a difference I originally built the server from the tutorial 'auto install oscam/cccam' on this site.

I tried your version and am still in trouble. Renamed original oscam to oscam.old and named your version to oscam and set 755. Hope this is correct. My oscam configs are still in the original location.

I have tried to update my oscam r9584 (libusb pcsc ) using the ftp to usr/local/bin, renaming and 755 etc as this method seems to be very simple. It will not run at all. I have tried versions 11292 both webif ssl and libusb versions etc. I need clarification on what version to use. I am using a pc with ubuntu 12.04.5 lts. Oscam will run when I revert back to version r9584.

Thanks for the offer bud. I have a Vu duo here. Might give it a try. I thought that as I have the card running in the box I could share it no problem with cccam on my server. Maybe I might bite the bullet and share in oscam. I hate letting a problem beat me.

Do you pass it to cccam as I think this is where my problem lies. The card runs in the alien ok. I tried Ncam on the alien and it almost worked but cccam would freeze after about 20 seconds.

UPDATE,

I re-flashed the alien with Openatv and managed to install Ncam 1.1. However it is behaving in the same way as oscam was in vix. My client receivers running cccam clear pictures and after about 20 seconds they freeze. If I change channels the picture will return for another 20 seconds or so. It seems to only get 1 ecm from cccam.

Any ideas anyone.

My main aim is to run my Meo card in the alien and feed to my other stb's using cccam. For some reason Oscam was opening the meo channels but was very hit and miss when I sent to cccam so I was following advise from another forum member and was going to see how Ncam would work as a reader.

I will only be using the alien as a card reader so I am open to suggestions as to what image I will boot to. I have never heard of OpenESI but am willing to give it a go.

If I have trouble in achieving this I allow my server to obtain an IP address from the router. I then log into the router and reserve this IP on the router for the mac address of my server. Works and never fails.

Sent Ncam1.7sh4 to / usr / bin / cam and set 755. Went to alternativesoftcamanager and pressed start but I still cannot see ncam running with the web interface eg, 192.168.1.10:8181. I checked the port in my ncam.conf

Update.

Installed 1.5 spark form first entry, renamed it ncam and set 755. My configs are in var keys and I renamed them all to ncam.xxx etc.

Still cant web browse using ip:8181. My box is alien mini chip 7111 and running Vix 4.

Had a go but cannot even browse to ncam using webif. I installed ncam in usr/bin/cam and renamed it to ncam and set to 755.

I put all my original oscam configs in var/keys and renamed to ncam.cfg etc, etc.. I removed my original SH4 oscam. Any Ideas. I am using the alternativesoftcammanager to start ncam. Maybe I have not installed correctly. Ncam installed is V1.7r5.

UPDATE.

Tried 1.1-linuxsat mips32el.ipk. Still the same. I cannot browse to see if ncam is working or installed correctly.
