Thanks. It seems like the kernel on my image is too old, so I guess I can't do much about it.

i have a similar issue, where my xbox tuner will work on one STB (that dose not even need it ) and not on any of my other STB's where it would actually be useful :sadgun:

    Ok, that’s too bad :/.

It would’ve been great to use the DualHD since it would mean that I get 2 extra tuners on my box with only one device..

    Hi,

I'm trying to install the driver for my Hauppauge WinTV DualHD on my Miraclebox. The device is detected, but I get an error saying that the eeprom can't be read. My guess is (or was) that this happens because of missing firmware, I've tried to put the correct firmware on the correct location, but no luck...

Here is the output from dmesg, after doing a modprobe:

    Code
    em28xx: New device HCW dualHD @ 480 Mbps (2040:0265, interface 0, class 0)
em28xx: DVB interface 0 found: isoc
    em28xx: chip ID is em28174
    em28174 #0: failed to read eeprom (err=-145)
    em28174 #0: em28xx_i2c_register: em28xx_i2_eeprom failed! retval [-145]
    em28174 #0: em28xx_init_dev: em28xx_i2c_register bus 0 - error [-145]!
em28xx: probe of 2-1:1.0 failed with error -145

The firmware is called "dvb-demod-si2168-b40-01.fw" and I've placed it in /lib/firmware (as mentioned on https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/i…hp/Hauppauge_WinTV-dualHD).

    Any idea what's wrong?

Check all the other files inthat extra folder, the one i gave you is the main ond but the you have the partical gikes for every piece of hardware of the box, including the one for the tuner itself.

Naturally between the tests yiu will have to reboot the box as drivers are loaded during boot.

Thank you. Actually, I installed Newnigma2 and on that image it actually worked from scratch. So I'm a happy camper right now :). But will look into it more when/if the problem shows up the next time.

Image you tested could have different driver, released at different dates... this generally has an influence because its the driver/software used inside the tuner (microcode).

Ok, that sounds reasonable. Would it be possible to use the driver from the stock firmware in a custom one? Or at least check the driver version?

    Hi,

I have a DM520HD receiver, and I'm having problems tuning a certain frequency/set of channels.

The Frequency is 514 MHz, and the channels are HD channels (the only HD channels on the current transmitter). These are also the only channels that are in T2 mode and have another PLP ID 1.

    The situation is as follows.

    A. When I'm using stock firmware:

    • The channels are found when doing an automatic channel scan. But, when I try to watch them the tuning fails.
    • If I then do a manual channel search on the said frequency, with the following settings:
      • System:DVB-T2
      • PLP ID: 001
      • Other settings: Default.

...the channels start working. All good

    B. When using the latest OpenPLI- or OpenVision firmwares (haven't tested any others):

    • The channels are not found when doing an automatic channel scan (all other channels are found and working though).
    • When doing a manual scan with the same settings as above, the channels are still not found.

    Any ideas why?

The box is located in Sweden.
