    Online Firmware Updates

USB only updates for all the Amiko Mira-X range (regardless of model) are few and far between. That's not to say they don't exist at all and they are not top secret or anything like that but generally they are not made public because they will be test firmware for something or other and then if to be released will be made available as an online update directly on the box itself either in the regular release or beta sections of the Upgrade menu depending on the type of update rather than given out as a USB update.

I do however have USB recovery firmware, this should only be used where the box will no longer fully boot up where it stays stuck on boot on the front display and no picture on screen or only boot logo etc. This is very easy to use BUT please just note it will erase all existing settings and return it to a factory state which when complete you can online update again to get you back to the latest version firmware.

There are two versions of recovery firmware, one for all Mira-X 4K models and one for all Mira-X non-4K models, you can download here:

    Code
    Mira-X 4K: https://mega.nz/file/AVxFiYIR#khOT8d6sHu1o_SNLiJNeXbW2vA5qK9BJJDUihRMyzeU

    Code
    Mira-X non-4K: https://mega.nz/file/oAgRXQDJ#EoHAxQZ5dIo76yYKlz0vD7LT9xlNN4jXaQx04GYN5Co

Here is the readme text guide which comes with the above firmware:

1.Copy hi430_force_nand.xml and nand_image to the USB root disk.

2.Insert the USB then power on stb, when you see front panel show "ENd", unplug USB then reboot the stb.

3.After recover, need delete the hi430_force_nand.xml file in the usb,if not, when you reboot stb, will recover again.

Notice: After recovery, the box will be restored to an unsold state, the database including portal settings will be cleared.

I have just spent a while quickly writing this guide below for you guys. Please let me know if it works for you or helps you out, I will probably make it a real PDF guide after that. This is off the top of my head version at the moment though so a bit rough and ready but will hopefully do the job...

This guide is how to re-flash firmware on the Amiko A6, A6N, A6N MAX using a USB stick and Android Recovery menu.

Generally this is needed or cures the issue where the device will not boot and only shows the white background with colour Amiko logo but does not boot past this.

You'll need a USB keyboard (for navigating around the recovery menu), USB stick formatted to FAT32 (firmware file is approx. 560-580MB), cocktail stick or similar to press in the recovery button.

First of all download your required firmware version NOTE that firmware is different for each model, A6, A6N, A6N MAX so it is IMPORTANT to choose the right one for your model.

The process below is exactly the same for all models, so it's just downloading the right version firmware for your specific model in the first place.

    Code
    A6: https://mega.nz/file/oBoD0IgB#8xY29xxJiaZ5Fhil6OJ1YnWldV7l5KRlNObPmZG7hEs
    Code
    A6N: https://mega.nz/file/4NYyjAzJ#81x9r2QalWcaB10gyQ9uBZhq_LdX2zeiujCbyVd3Mi0
    Code
    A6N MAX: https://mega.nz/file/AdARHAqb#qTi3stwjCfa-FLIY25nYXM9O7Lipau0o8VuGP-CHxI8

These are not the very latest or special firmwares as such, these are just older random firmwares which I know to be good for this recovery process. We'll use this to get the device working again and later on will online update to the latest firmware so it's all bang up to date.

Download the above version for your device which will be in .zip format and place this on a FAT32 formatted USB stick (directly on the USB stick, no need to be in a folder and no need to open the .zip file).

With the A6/N/MAX device powered off (power cable unplugged) insert the USB stick and USB keyboard (this will be needed to navigate round the recovery menu, the remote control will not work)

Now while pressing in the pin hole recovery button on the under side of the A6/N/MAX connect the power and keep the recovery button pressed in, you will see the white Amiko logo with black background on screen after a short while, keep the recovery button pressed in still just for a few more seconds (3 or 4 seconds should be fine) and then let go of the recovery button, the screen should go black and after a short while the recovery menu will be displayed on scree.

If the recovery menu is now showing and you had your USB keyboard attached while you went though the above process then you should be ready for the next step...

Using the arrow keys on the keyboard scroll down to 'Apply update from EXT' and press enter/return on keyboard

Scroll down to 'Update from udisk' and press enter/return

Scroll down to the firmware .zip file you put on USB earlier and press enter/return

    Installing system Update

    Install from udisk complete

It will now return to main menu, scroll to 'Reboot system now' (most probably already highlighted by default) and press enter/return on keyboard

The device will reboot and if all went well will eventually boot up to the main menu, it's basically in a 'working' state again now, you can browse through menu, remote control working etc. but now we want to update the firmware to whatever is the latest available online update.

First of all make sure you have a working Internet connection to the device and then...

When on the main menu go to Setting > System > Upgrade

You will be offered the latest 'Stable version' firmware update, if this is what you want then scroll down to 'Update now' and press OK, OK to 'Confirm' and online firmware flashing will begin and reboot at the end.

HOWEVER there is also often a BETA version firmware available which is newer than the stable version, generally I would choose BETA if available and release version is a higher number than stable version (it's called BETA but is safe to use)

For the available BETA version then while in the Upgrade menu press blue button for BETA version, select the version you want (only one choice if any usually) and then as above, Update now > OK > Confirm > OK and firmware flashing will begin and reboot at the end.

Which ever version firmware you choose then when flashing is complete and device reboots when it eventually boots back up you should now have the latest fully functioning firmware on there and be ready to go!

The above perhaps sounds like a lot of things to take in all at once, don't worry though, it's not nearly as bad as it might first seem, give it a try and good luck!

    Hi there,

I have seen the direct contact you sent to us in regards to this and your previous contact from the start of the week regarding a different matter but I have also been made aware that you are already in communication with the reseller you purchased the hardware from.

To answer the question on changing a MAC address within MYTV then the answer is ultimately yes it is possible but I will not be able to provide details on changing a MAC address in a public forum I am afraid or get involved with discussions centring around providers, sorry, that's not something for us.

As you are already in dialogue with the place you purchased your hardware from then please continue with that, they are the guys who will be able to help you out on this occasion.

    Thanks

Hey guys, only just passed by and noticed this, sure I will try and help. First thing to know, when you say it will not turn on exactly what state is it in, if you power it on do you get the Amiko boot logo on screen, the one with the white background you'd normally expect when it boots but it just stays stuck on this and never loads or does it appear more terminal than that as in no picture output on screen at all, is the power LED and front display showing anything?

Armed with the above information we should be able to decide what's your best next step.

As of this morning there are online beta firmware updates available now for the Mira-X range of receivers (all models), so to upgrade it is Settings > Upgrade > PIN (0000 is default) > BETA_version (blue button) > Start Update (red button)

(If you do not see the 'BETA_version' blue button option then first update to the latest available regular online update firmware. When this is complete then you will now see the beta option available and can make the update as above)

    Release notes:

    V000D_20210609:

    1.ADD: VOD group edit function.

2.ADD: Add a 3-hour auto sleep switch to the system option menu.

3.FIX: Solve the problem of long login portal when the server uses the XUI.one panel.

4.FIX: The livetv sometimes can not be play.

5.FIX: The epg time display of some servers is offset.

6.FIX: Seek is not smooth after adding thumbnails to vod info.

7.FIX: When playing the vod, press the blue button to jump to the series, the playing times is not recorded problem.

8.FIX: The radio background will disappear when the switcher is set to black screen.

9.FIX: Optimize the playlist function to solve the problem of excessive memory consumption.

You can also load a Playlist m3u file from a local m3u file on USB stick though there are some requirements for it to work:

    1) m3u file needs to be in a directory named m3u which is in root of USB, so for example /m3u/your-file-name.m3u

    2) m3u file needs to be an m3u with 'options' i.e. each stream also needs to be assigned to a category (or at least this is how I can make it work)

With that in place then head to Portal Setting menu and scroll down to PlayList 1 or PlayList 2 (your choice) then scroll right so Import from Usb (red button) option is showing. If your m3u file is on the connected USB stick and in the directory called m3u then pressing the red button should pop up a list so you can choose the m3u file. Choose the one you want then you will see URL is filled our as /USB/your-file-name.m3u. Scroll back over to highlight PlayList 1 or Playlist 2 (whichever you used) on the left and press the OK button. This should import your m3u and launch to the first channel in the all list. That's it, you can scroll around channels and sections now. It's more basic as it's just an m3u but it does work fine as such!

Just some notes. As you are loading this locally from USB then unlike using the http import method as above which will re-load to whatever is the latest every time you connect then here from USB it will only update (import) anything new if you manually update the file on the USB stick and import again so this may or may not suite your needs. The other thing I found is loading a decent sized list works fine but if it gets to big for example something with thousands and thousands of entries say from VOD content then it's probably not going to load it, I don't know what the actual limit is but I experimented with a few and most are fine but I found a list that was nearly 30MB just for a playlist and that one for me failed! Just give it a try, if it loads then it should work!

We now have a new firmware release in BETA which has fixed the LED colour issue. I have tested myself this morning and is now working fine for me but please try for yourself. To update to new BETA lease firmware (which you probably already know how, but just in case) then while A6 Combo is connected to the Internet press HOME > Setting > System > Upgrade > BETA version (Blue Button) > 1.0.12 2021-03-03 (this is currently the only version listed) > OK > Update now > Confirm.

Once update is finally complete then you can test LED settings in the Misc. menu and hopefully all working correctly now. :)

I checked this out today and can confirm the same issue as you report so it looks like just a small bug in the firmware. I have reported this to the guys behind this so hopefully this can be fixed in a future firmware update. :)
