Openpli have a unique development branch, they have always made excellent images that run well even on older products.

This cable has been tested from me and it work on V8uhd and on V7pro.

This is a clip usb programmer ch341a, but change firmware with it is a little more difficult than rs232. For a guide you can see y@utub videos about programming an eeprom with it.

Usually stock firmware. When you have the box put a screenshot about menu info of your V8uhd.

For rs232 cable you can see on aliexp.. with search for " rs232 gtmedia v8uhd".

Wich firmware have your V8uhd now ?? Mars or stock ??

If you have stock firmware installed, you can upgrade to ecam without any rs232 cable, but only with usb stick.

If you start from mars, as say master G first, you need open the box than rs232 cable or ch341a clip programmer.

I uninstalled oscam and installed ciplus helper 5.8r2 (I thought it would not work but it is), now I have really less problem, still some occasional freeze from time to time.

I have a second CAM installed, I'll try one at a time to see if it makes some differences.

For clip programmer you can see every youtube video for ch341a bios flash.

You need ch341a software and the gtmedia bin you want install, you can go from one every gtmedia software to another one as you want.

If you programming with ch341a clip, v8uhd motherboard must be fully disconnected from power supply.

From mars to stock the only way are:

• special rs232 cable
• ch341a clip programmer

You can find all on @liexpress for very few money.

vpn plugin on mars at the moment is broken or working only with a pptp protocol.

Buy a cheap little router as gl.inet and put every vpn device behind it.

Will be a pcsc reader. I have found 0bda:0169 into the ccid driver package.

If you are on a Linux PC install libpcsclite and ccid package and after that you can see in Oscam wiki pcsc reader config.

So you need Oscam compiled with pcsc support.

It's very good network virtualization software but not real vpn service.

It is based and under United States juridstiction....5-9 and 14 eyes alliance, not really the best.
