Yes, thanks, I knew that, but I don't like it permanently like that, I want it on only when I need it in some

cases like when checking the TV signal and such. Hmm, if not the OK key, perhaps another key? Maybe

there could be another way to do it...

    Thanks, guys!

Yes, I can activate PiP by accesing the Extensions menu long pressing the blue button, but

then you have to scroll down and hit the 'Activation' entry... Many hits, so I want a faster

way, just hitting one key like the virtual remote control does.

I will try it later when I get home. Cool for the PiP feature. But what about the InfoBar? I want

it to stay permanently when long pressing the OK key and then making it disappear with the

Exit key. Is it posible to do this also with the HotKeys configuration?

    Hi,

I just checked a bit OpenWebIf and saw that its virtual remote control has a PiP key which actually

works, but the ZGemma's remote control doesn't have this specific key. To avoid having to go

through the menus to activate PiP, how could I assign a key, long press if needed is fine, to activate

PiP with the physical remote control?

I thought of trying the HotKeys functions, but before that I'd like to know if there is another way

    already available.

Also, I would like to assign another key to make the InfoBar visible permanently. Long pressing the

    OK key would be fine.

    Thanks.

complete backup gives you choice of what partition to backup you can restore from usb or with online flash from where you stored backup image

you can also save settings backup that is settings only not full partition image.

You mean saving settings alone from the other entry of the menu, right? Or the 'Backup Image' feature

gives you the option of choosing saving settings only too?

I'm saving settings with the saving settings alone entry in the menu just in case anything goes wrong.

But with the test I did with the second receiver, original clean Image flashed and then restoring the

saved settings, the Multiboot selection came out wrong, as Mode 1 instead of 12. Also the network

password had to be re-entered. So I guess a complete Image backup should restore everything 100%

as it was, including plugins, settings, everything. And must be a faster method.

Hi guys, now that I've had a bit more time to test the receiver, I have a few more questions about it I hope

you can help me with. These are the following.

Receiver and image: ZGemma H7C, OpenATV 7.3.

    - Zoom. How do I activate the zoom for any TV channel and video playback? Teletext has a zoom feature,

but I can't find the way to zoom the TV and video picture. A at least x8 zoom with the option to move it up,

down, left and right would be great. If OpenATV can not do it for any reason, what Image can?

    - Backup Image. Does this feature from the menu actually backup the whole image and all settings? the

whole partiition where the Image is installed or the 4 partitions? And, if so, how do I restore it? by

flashing it from a USB pendrive?

    - PREV and NEXT keys. How do I advance to the next or previous videos or pics in a directory with many

videos or pics? the PREV and NEXT keys seem not to work. Having to move the cursor down to go to the

next file and hitting Play again is annoying.

    - GoTo function. Is there a GoTo function, a way to advance to a certain time in video or even audio files

    by introducing manually the time?

    - Aspect Ratio. How to change or swap the aspect ratio? the VMode function and the selections from the

video modes menu seem not to work...

    - Disabling TV and Radio. Is there a way to disable the TV, and also Radio, while a recording is going on?

I mean, to save unnecessary processing usage if you are not watching anything while the receiver is

recording, also when scheduled recordings are on, and also while you are just browsing the menus

and don't want to watch TV just yet. For scheduled TV recordings it would be great if the receiver

could not decode the video as it records or could move to some menu page to show just this.

    - Air Digital Logo. Any way to dim or power off the Air Digital logo on the front display? Very bright

    especially at night...

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers.

OK, so Mode 12 bootup gave me PiP. It was there hidden! Haven't tested it much but it seems

    to work fine.

Thank you, guys. Without the help and support of the community it would be tough to get

to know how these receivers work - they have too many functions, they are very complex.

I still have a few minor details I would like to sort out, so if any of you know how to it will

    be great:

    - Is there a plugin or extension or any way to set the time and date manually? My sister

has no internet connection at home and the syncing with Transponder only, I fear could

fail some day. One available in the main menu would be handy and great for her.

    - Is it possible to disable the Trashcam? I thik I saw no option for this...

    - The recordings are saved in TS format but there are many small files created. File

Commander shows them all, and its annoying having such many files in there. Is

there a way to make the recording create just one single TS file?

    - I´d like to have the Quality signal meter, AGC, on the main info bar next to the

SNR meter. Is it possible to set it there? Also, the maximum percentage I saw

so far is 99%. Why is that? no room for 3 digits? It's nice to see a 100% mark.

    Cheers.

Hey guys, I´m back and with very good news! I installed the splitter and now both DVB-T2 tuners

work perfectly at the same time. Tested them recording with, which apparently seems to be

the default tuner, B, although I set both in Auto mode, and once recording I swapped to a

channel of a different frequency, and guess what... it showed up perfectly and in the info bar

of OpenATV the C tuner was highlighted in yellow, meaning it was the tuner that locked that

channel. Did more recordings of several channels of 2 different frequencies and all of them

came out fine. What a relief!

By the way, the splitter hasn't dropped the signal strength at all... very surprised here, and

    very nice indeed.

Thanks a lot again to you all for the help.

Now I have to make the PiP function work. Thanks Captain for the help on this. I will try

that boot mode 12. Hopefully it works and then let's set it so it is the main bootup mode.

Just tried the other receiver with OpenATV 6.1 and it shows the same behaviour with the

tuners, and no PiP after long pressing the blue button.

I have the Metrix HD skin although I modified it a bit with a plugin or extension it has to

show the Quality signal meter on another info bar on top of screen and some other bits.

Maybe that booting alternative could work but I have no idea how to access it...

Anyway, it's late for me, gotta go to bed, I'll keep testing this tomorrow.

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Cheers.

Most tuners are hybrid, I. E they do DVB -T/T2 and DVB-C. If they have two physical inputs, they do not have an internal splitter and you will have to do as Urie suggested to provide signal.

Not all receivers support Picture in Picture. Are you sure that your receiver does?

Someone in this forum told me that PiP works fine on the Zgemma H7C, so this is one of

reasons I bought this receiver. I think he is one of the developers of the image Pure2.

Update: I've just done a scan of tuner C, and am getting an error: Tune Failed!

Connected the antenna cable to the tuner C port, selected tuner C to scan, cleared whatever,

scanned fine and got same number of channels as did tuner B, but when tuning a channel

    I get this error message.

    What is wrong?

By the way, on a side note: I can not find PiP anywhere. OpenATV 7.3. Hit the blue button as

    some say, but not there.

    Hi guys,

After some tests, I'm not sure if the Gemma H7C receiver's 2 DVB-T2 tuners are twins or duals, meaning that

each of them, or at least one, could tune 2 frequencies at the same time (to watch 2 channels, record/watch

or record 2 from different frequencies) with just one single antenna cable connected to only 1 tuner's port.

I scanned with tuner B alone, only one antenna cable connected, and it works fine, it even can record 4

channels at the same time from the same frequency, but if I tune another channel from another frequency,

I get a black screen with 0% SNR.

Anyone who has this receiver knows for certain if, or not, one tuner alone can tune 2 frequencies at the same

time? Maybe I did something wrong in the tuners configuration menu, and it can if configured correctly.

Since the first DVB-T tuner, the one below the LNB In port, has written next to it "TUNER A/B" I thought that

this was a dual tuner, capable of tunning 2 frequencies simultaneously, and that "TUNER C " was only meant

    for Cable TV.

    Confused and frustrated...

    Thanks in advance.

Deep Model = Box is Off, no Time Possible

    only in the Standby

Too bad. Most old VHS VCRs kept the time when powered off and some Linux boxes maybe too,

they must have some memory chip, eeprom or whatever to keep the time for a long period of

time even when disconnected from the mains. I read in the manual that in Deep Standby mode

the receiver only consumes less than 1 watt, so I thought this was for keeping the time, but no.

Anyway, displaying the time is not the important thing here, but keeping the time is. And this

brings a problem, not for my personal box, but for my sister's. She would use it mostly to

schedule recordings for next day while at work, so the time is imperative to be correct.

She doesn't have an internet connection at home, so I´ve set the time to be synced with

Transponder. Tried it, terrestrial TV, and it works, though it takes a few seconds to sync

after the box's startup. But I fear the syncing may fail some day, and I see there is no

manual time setting in the setup menu of OpenATV. Just in case it is needed some day,

how could a manual time and date setup be done?

I found a plugin to do this, but a very old version from 2012, enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-dvbtime_0.4-20120528-r0_all.ipk.zip, but it didn't install correctly, and doesn't show up in the

plugins menu, and now I don't know how to remove it from the system.

Please, anyone has an updated version of this that works fine? Or another similar plugin to

set the time and date manually.

    Thanks.

    Cheers.

Issue fixed! Finally I could flash an image to this receiver from a USB stick! Thought that the

problem with the several sticks I tried and none worked could be the formatting, so I

decided to reformat the 32 GB stick with an external program instead of the Windows

utility, so I used DiskGenius Partition Manager, and this software has made the stick

perfectly recognizable by this box, so the Recovery image was flashed fine. What a relief!

I advice everybody not to use the formatting Windows utility and use an external program

    like this one.

And regarding the crashes I had when hitting the 'About OpenATV' entry, it doesn't crash

anymore. I hope everything else works fine too from now on.

Thanks everyone who helped me, specially Captain for checking my unit's crash log.

OK, so I have to keep testing the receiver. And, regarding the other question in the title

of this thread, anybody knows how to configure the receiver so it shows the time when

    in Deep Standby mode?

    Cheers!
