That will work but you wont get good transfer speeds and a good size one costs a lot more per gigabyte
True, I use a 64gig usb stick which cost £16. So for second box on which I rarely record it does the job.

I just use a large capacity usb stick. It's not my main box so it works for me. Plus they pretty cheap.

Trust me BH will never support this receiver, and if they do they will have to cease supporting Vu+ in order to do it.
I don't doubt it. Its obviously all about the dollars.
No there will never be BH support for this receiver, BH only support Vu+ and their parent company Marusys because there paid to only support them.
Money talks
It's no biggy. But yes I'll try that.
No BH image support for this?
I had a Ferguson ariva 102 or 105 in bedroom before this, Man it sucked balls!
Even openbox far superior.

Running latest vix on the octagon version of this box.
It says 'boot' all the time on the front display. Is this normal for when not running the original image?
Still says it with usb removed.
Excellent wee receiver btw.

Assuming you get one you need an Irish address and a credit/debit card registered to that address to use it.
Thats not true. The credit card doesn't need to be registered to that address. Not for the purpose of subing to setanta via their website anyway.
It could be overheating. Take it apart and have a look. While you are in there blow out any dust too.
Also stick a friendly post in introductions. :-)

Hi dekelster. Thanks for your post, but as said port is 100% open for sure, as confirmed working on my old server (running right now). The port I mentioned earlier is not my actual port, simply used common one as example.
okies, checked you dns?
I'd double check that your port is open. Use something like Open Port Check Tool also if I read right in an earlier post your port is pretty common. So change it to something else. Also make sure to change over to the new port in your router port forward settings, where you push the traffic to your server.
Good job

When you make changes via the web info a backup of your existing config is made automatically.
