I always used a NTFS formatted stick mounted as media/usb and not hdd and never had a problem.
The reason I prefer ntfs instead of ext4 is that I can use and edit the stick on a Windows PC since I store other kind of files too whilst I couldn't with ext4.

For the Octagon sf8008 4K, take some Oscam .ipk, copy it to the /tmp folder, click on Oscam and select installation from the drop-down menu. You must be connected to the internet for Oscam to install properly, and then restart the receiver. This procedure applies to all versions of OpenATV.
I suggest not to use the black colour for text, people that uses the dark style for the forum pages can hardly see it or not at all.

Wireless network connrction r8712u / rtl8188s It doesn't work with all py3 openatv 7.5.1 / openatv7.6 / openatv 8.0 images .
It was tested on these devices and it doesn't work.

I had a similar issue too and both LAN and WIFI connections where dead, not even WEBIF was comunicating with the deco, not to mention the various FTP programs or channel editors. I even came to think it was my STB damaged because I tried just about everything with no results and was thinking of getting a new one.
I don't know if it was just a lucky cohincidence but when I changed the skin I started seein the network again with WEBIF and all the rest.
I am talking about Octagon Supreme V3 and all the ATV images I have installed, 7.5.1 and 7.6.
It was quite ok with other images.

This is the message that appears when I try to manually update the settings with ngsettin downloaded and installed directly from the panel.
The same error appears randomly when the plugin checks for updates.

I see you're talking about the R9, why don't you try updating? Sometimes these problems resolve themselves with updates.
And that error doesn't generate a log?

Trying to install on ATV 7.5.1 onboard Octagon Supreme V3 but it gives error. It says "installed, updated or removed 0 packages with 1 error. The same happened un ATV 7.6. Even after reboot nothing done.

Thanks Urie, but I was looking for something similar to X-streamity that runs on Windows.
The problem is that many of the available M3U lists contain many servers that are no longer working or have expired, resulting in slower loading of the plugin.
Before transferring the .TXT list to the box, I would have liked to first check the valid URLs/servers on Windows.....
Then use IPTV Stream Checker to find out the validity of the servers.

Did you install it from ipk? You probably need to install the dipendencies. Install it from feeds the first time. -

Edit: I probably missunderstood your question. If you want to install the Egami oscam on ATV I don't really know. That oscam was made available also for other images some time ago but ever since many other versions came out and I personally don't remember that exact version. For the configs if you have it installed on Egami you just need to replicate those config files copying them.
Maybe radio3 can help better but you should ask in the right topics or you will be OT here. -
It's a skin purposely made for the OpenBH image and can be found on their forum but it's available for contributors only, or at least so it was untill last year for all I know.

Tonight I made an update of ATV and after it finished and rebooted both internet connections via LAN and WIRELESS aren't working anymore. Any idea why and how to fix please?

But if there was a hint which images are compatible , it would have saved us many useless efforts...

ammarbary , thanks first of all. The file in the first post you just added looks like a fix but there is no more the first installation files with the text instructions files probably deleted by mistake. Am I right?

Your reply was not helpful at all. It came with preinstalled openvix. Eventually i find out the problem it was aspecratioswitch plugin or weather plugin caused random crashes. Seems fine now.
You probably bought a second hand device where someone else have installed OpenVIX. Chances are that it was a faulty device that has been returned and put back on sale. I would send it back too if I was you and get it from an official seller.
It does comes with OpenATV and DEFINE OS as default from factory. -

Kiddac, in which file do you find the TV channel access information, such as the service reference (for example: 1:0:19:1F4B:42E:1:C00000:0:0:0) and the provider's URL?

.If you are talking about IPTV channels I don't know but for normal channels, also those created by BMX, you can go in that channel then go to Menu/Information/Service and you get that information.
Also some skins show it.

Did anyone have a problem like me with OpenATV 7.6 (7.6.0; 34646+9db2577; SF8008)? It seems, that the 'OK' Button will still hitten.
It comes not from the remote controller, i have removed the battery from it. With OpenATV 7.5.1 -> same Problem
with p.e. OpenPLI 9.1 no Problem.
Any Idea?

It could be the remote that needs to be cleaned inside.
Sometimes the rubbery part of the keys underneath the case gets greasy and needs to be cleaned because buttons act funny.
I usually use isopropyl alcohol for that kind of work.
The fact that it works with OpenPLI could just be a coincidence.
