Maybe, but I'm so aware of the risk of cutting power having had a career in IT that I'd be very surprised it's something I've done. I can't remember a recent power cut either. I'll check the timeshift settings and change to USB if need be. I may also look at SSDs, I've got those in other devices.

    p.s. quad still on ;-)

It appears that it was corrupted. I connected it to my pc and formatted it using HDDguru, thanks for the recommendation jenseneverest, and initialised it back in the HD61 and it seems to work again. For how long I don't know. I've lost all my recordings but at least it's working.

I've got no idea what corrupted it as there was nothing obvious so i can't take any steps to prevent it happening again.

Thanks again...yes, I tried all of that and am coming to the realisation that the HDD is corrupt. I'm waiting for a male - male USB cable to arrive in today's post and I'll be able to connect the HDD to my PC.

Either way I've contacted the vendor in Germany as I wouldn't expect a Toshiba HDD to fail within 3 months of use.

it doesn't appear to see it...

Hi, I have a 3 month old HD61 4K with a pre-installed Toshiba 1TB HDD. It's worked flawlessly (openatv 6.4, 7.0 and OpenVix 6) until a few days ago. Now the HDD cannot be seen - it cannot be mounted, I get 'mount failed' and any operation on the HDD fails, even initialisation - which I see the attached error for. can anyone suggest how to resolve this issue? I've got a number of recordings on it but am resigned to losing them. I just want a HDD that works.

I've even tried mounting via telnet but get the following...

    Code
    mount /dev/sda1 /media/hdd
    NTFS signature is missing.
Failed to mount '/dev/sda1': Invalid argument
The device '/dev/sda1' doesn't seem to have a valid NTFS.
Maybe the wrong device is used? Or the whole disk instead of a
partition (e.g. /dev/sda, not /dev/sda1)? Or the other way around?
mount: mounting /dev/sda1 on /media/hdd failed: No such file or directory

I'm having a similar problem, with a supplier installed Tosiba 1TB hard disk drive. It's been working flawlessly ever since I got the box (early March this year) but all of a sudden it won't mount. I noticed that the PVR wasn't showing my recordings and took it from there. The mount function fails and I can't check the filesystem, it errors with a technical error saying run manual fsck. No idea what that is.

I don't want to initialise it as it's got recordings on it, but I can't mount it so I can't access them anyway.

Can anyone suggest what I can do to mount the hdd please?

    Thanks, Matt

cojones how are you installing this via plugin feeds,

or copying the ipk over to tmp folder and installing via ipk packager or telnet

Hi, I have resolved it and I believe the issue to be something to do with old settings. I did a fresh install of 6.0.008 but didn't restore anything. I set up everything as new. It was available in the plugins, installed with no issues and is working perfectly. Thank you! It seems that there was something I was restoring that prevented me from seeing it in the plugins.

Hi, I'm trying to install jedimakerxtream on openvix 6.0.7 / xstreamity but once installed there is no menu item and I cannot find a way to open it. It doesn't appear in the plugins list either. It does appear in the list when I click 'remove plugin', so I'm really not sure what to do...has anyone seen this and got any advice please?
