Try to install an image (OpenATV) from the menu option "Network Multiboot Image Upgrade".

You will need to use a cable to connect your box to the router via LAN, otherwise it won’t work.

If you still don’t succeed, then you’ll need to install a Recovery Image (in Slot1 by default), but you will lose the other slots as well.

Afterwards, you can restore the backup images.

It’s always some kind of solution, but I’m a supporter of the idea that if something is supposed to work – it should work. Well, maybe a solution will come up eventually.

I downloaded a clean OpenATV image. I tried flashing it directly in the root directory with the name _mmc.zip, I also tried placing it inside the images folder, then in image, but I still get the same message: “No image found on the USB storage device.” So even flashing a clean image is a problem. I used 3 different USB sticks, and none of them are detected.

As I already wrote above, I know there is a possibility to use the backup directly from within the OpenATV system. But what if the system completely freezes and cannot be started at all? In that case, I would need to restore the backup from the recovery menu, but this doesn’t work for me — it doesn’t find the image.

I have a problem with restoring a system backup from a USB stick. I’m currently running OpenATV 7.5. I create a system backup, which is saved as a ZIP file in the images folder on the USB stick. I’ve tried two USB sticks, one 2GB and one 32GB, both formatted in FAT32. Unfortunately, in the recovery menu the image is not detected in the USB Multiboot Image Upgrade option — I get the message: No image found on the USB storage device.

However, from within the system, in the online update menu, there is a backup section where the backup I created is visible and works fine, since I was able to restore it to a second slot. But this option only works if the system is still running. I would like to have the possibility to restore the system from the recovery menu in case the system completely crashes.

Both USB sticks are working fine — I used the same ones on a Zgemma H9SSE receiver, and restoring backups worked there.

you need to rename the file from_usb.zip to _mmc.zip

Unfortunately it still doesn’t work, I renamed the file to _mmc.zip and I’m still getting the same message: "No image found on the USB storage device"
