    Well I have managed to get newcamd working at last and I have to say in the end it was really easy to do, I found a guide to setting up your Amiko Alien2 for use with both CCcam and newcamd, it is really easy to follow and understand, they are in PDF format so I can't copy them and put them here but if you know how to do it I will send you the link by pm, I can't post a direct link as I will get my wrist slapped.

    Matjill Thanks for the reply believe it or not I have done exactly what you have suggested and still no joy, I do see the icon with the magnifying glass going round it but I get no other message on screen, also I have the spark up to date with 1.2.58 Europe, I will try the FTP option soon and let you know how I get on, thanks again for the reply.

    I can not get past the first step as when I put the usb stick into the back of the box nothing seems to be happening, it is formatted to fat32 and it is a kingston usb, on the front panel of the box there is like a spinning CD and above that it says timeshift and there is also a usb symbol there, but nothing appears on the screen to update and there is only calculate in the plugins, can you offer any help?

    In post number 1 how long should it take to load the plugin to the box? I have been waiting now for nearly 40 mins and still no sign of anything, there is something spinning on the front panel and it also says timeshift. I have a kingston usb formatted to fat 32, am I missing something? thanks for any replies.

    Thanks for all the replies lads, I have got myself the Amiko Alien2 triple tuner box and although I have only set the channels up and connected it to the internet, my first impression of this box is wow what a box, so far it has been every easy to set it up and the screens are a nice colour and easy to navigate. Now the fun really begins trying to set it up fully, trying to find out how to install cams etc and where to put them, so any help on that issue I would really appreciate, thanks again to all for the help so far.

    Lads tomorrow I basically have a choice between these two boxes and basically I am looking for advice on which one to get, living in Ireland a dvb-t tuner is a must but out of those two boxes which one is the best supported and which one has better cam support.


    Do you have one of these boxes and would you recommend it.

  • Strange Freezing Problem

    I know it's not the server as I have been in my brother house who has a share with him also and it does not happen there just my place, I have no script or cron job running on the box and as I said it also happens with an openbox that I have, and it doesn't happen on the FTA channels only the pay channels.     Hi there to everyone I have a vu duo now for the last couple of months and have to say very impressed with it except for one tiny little problem, No matter what image I am using every hour on the hour I get a 7 second freeze, say at 10am sharp my box will freeze and will stay like that for the 7 seconds, same again at 11 am, 12 etc, this is the only glitch that I get ever as the server I use is perfect. I am currently using vix as this I find is the most stable for me but it is exactly the same when using blackhole or whatever image. I have spoken to my server about this and he has said that I am the only one with this problem. (who I believe as he is a nice guy)


    This is not an issue for me just wondering has this or does this happen to anybody else, also happens with an openbox s10 that I have so not just a vu duo problem, I am in Ireland using upc broadband if that helps, thanks for looking.

  • Usb dvb-t tuner on Vix image

    Hi there to everybody I am trying to set up a usb dvb-t tuner on my vu+duo in Ireland but I am having no luck, the tuner I am trying uses the 9035 chipset so the driver I am trying to download is dvb-usb-af9035 (1.0-r1) but when I download it I am getting 3 pages of text saying downloading etc, and the very last line reads FATAL module dvb af9035 not found.


    As said I am using a Vix image build 151
    Kernel 3.1.1
    Drivers 2012-02-28


    So I want to ask can I install this or not? or has anybody managed to set up a usb dvb-t tuner using this driver in Ireland and if so what image are you using etc.
    And lastly when a usb dvb-t tuner is plugged into the box should I be able to see it recognised by the box?
