use the likes of dreambox control centre to ftp your latest oscam file. rename the file exactly the same as the one you have in the path var/bin and when you ftp it over set attributes to 755

you can flash you dm500 using telnet feature in dreambox control center. make sure the image you are flashing is called backup.img ftp it into tmp folder of dm500 and enter this line in telnet cd /tmp && eraseall /dev/mtd/3 && cp backup.img /dev/mtd/3 && reboot Probably best using dm500 as server

You could use video senders to send signal fromone room to another are you using a tv also in the same room as the box? Although you cant move box you can use homeplugs or wifi dongle to send internet connection from one room to another.

I am trying to set up a crontabe on the above image to run every 5 mins. I got services/daemons > Crond set up > set 5 minutes new and then go to the "command line". I press OK and enter a new script using the yellow button.. The problem I have is the default path for this image is /var/script and the path I want for my script is /var/bin. Is there anyway of getting round this?? -
hi, been reading through this thread and trying myself and have spent time over last 3 days trying this. I get to the point of insert, then paste */3 * * * * /var/bin/oscamcheck.sh when i press esc, the cursor moves between sh of(*/3 * * * * /var/bin/oscamcheck.sh) I then press shift+snooze button together but I dont get root file in crontabs. I hope I am right in presuming the zz in this thread is sleep/snozze. Is there an alternative key I can use to the zz key?? Any help appreciated.

psu is the power supply unit. If you switch box off then switch it back on whilst holding in the on/off button on front of box does it show ip address? also try different versions of dream up

does this have a script to check if cccam and oscam are running and if they stop they will be restarted?? thanx for looking . Would a such script be put in var>script?? -
If you have another box to try on your set up i would do that first and see if channels clear. Cant see why jtag would help it as its to breathe life in a dead box.

Cut the usb off the fan.
Find an old scart lead and break it open.
Pin 8 is + and pin 21 is - (pin 21 is on the side of the scart lead)
Connect the + from the fan to pin 8 on the scart and the - from the fan to pin 21 on the scart ( I left about 3" of wire on the scart and soldered it on).
Plug into the back of the dm800 and bingo ...off and on when needed -
switch the 3 pin serial connecter for a 8 pin one

Thanx for replies and will dig deeper for info from your comments. I would prefer to buy setanta card and keep it a close knit share, but @£450 it seems a rip for a couple of channels. If it was say £200 a year i would be more than happy to pay for it. thanx again

have small family/friends server with full *s*l*y package. I was after setenta sports to add to server and and member on another forum put me in contact with another member who could help me out and who is a long serving respected member . Basically he said my card would be useful as a back up for him. The way we exchanged lines was i created an account in oscam user file where the user/pass are the same as the nline I sent him. I opened up a port in router **** e.g and in var/tuxbox/config i have an oscam.conf.bak file which has port = ****@0963:000000.
My concern is In CS studio I cant monitior ecm hits from him.I can only moniter ecm's from my other clients and the ecms from my clients to his server. If I look in oscam webif i can see ecm requests in there which are normal for the small number of people on the server. I have no reason not to trust him and feel guilty asking, but it would be nice to know how to moniter his access to my server. -

I was given that advice of a guy who lives local to me on another forum and had his own family/friends server. All my clients apart, from 1 only use their clines for their personal use in their dm box. So although I've stopped the emms problem its causing my server to work harder?? Theres so much to learn:surrender: -
mine wasn't updating so altered a trusted clients cline to user pass 5 0 1 { 0:0:2 } Its taking the Emms fine now

it certainly does,,,but then if you dont have a strong/popular package or platform,,
then imagine how many peers you would need to have a "full/all-round" server... imagine to have 37 platforms you would need to find at least 37 peers with "fullcards"..... hard if not impossible,then for those 37 "fullcards" to be on 24/7,356 per anumm...so to back it up ,you´d be looking for more peers... on the other hand ,,the more hops you share the more likely that you will be sharing a "common" peer that the other 2 already have..( don´t know if that makes any sense to you) for example if A shares with B and A+B share with C ,then A will be recieving C´s card from B in hop1 translating into hop2.............. so the norm is to set it at 2 0 0 { 0:0:2 } especially if it is a pc server bacause it can take it....or a "weaker card" .that relies on resharing of others´cards.

yeah its generally just a couple of HD channels on the L tuner but he has the inline amp which much improved things before the newer rev m tuner come out.

I am only a n00bie so please forgive if I am talking rubbish. If you are downloading can you not restrict your downlad speed? i.e if you have 20meg restrict to 15meg. Was round my m8's on sunday, he had glitching/breaking up, low snr levels also. tweaks his dish for him, still glitching but snr improves slightly. Tried my dm800 pro (his has the L tuner) and nearly a 20% improvement on snr but pictute still breaking up. he then mentions just got the new iphone and he's downloading some stuff for it. when he stopped downloading all was good.
