I would have thought the pictures he posted were pretty self explanatory.....
i'm talking about @BanjoXo71 setup not anyone else's!

Okay if you have a specific question then ask.
You are going to have to do a lot of reading, understand what is required, make yourself a plan of what your going to do, then do it.
Very Basically
- Read and understand what is required before you begin.
- gather up all the required tools- Angle finders, signal meters, cabling, spirit levels, spanners ETC ETC
- Check line of sight for your required sats at your location
- Get mount and pole perfectly aligned
- Get basic elevation and DE inclination for your latitude and longitude - refer to your manual
- Install dish to pole with basic setup
- align with signal meter using 3 sats to get the dish to trac correctly (use 1 far west, one far east and one about in the middle)
reason i asked @BanjoXo7, is because his pictures in this post: My Channel Master 1.2m System Fully Installed is what im hoping to achieve, and he's in uk, so am i, and his looks awesome that's why i'm asking him for help as well!

I moved your post to its own thread.
Right what is confusing ? you could not have possibly read that thread in its entirety already.
I said in the thread i linked to above and will say it again... if you want to install a system yourself, for the first time... you can expect to spend several days doing so.
If you don't have the patience to do it yourself, get an installer to do it for you.
yes i read it last night actually! , yes i plan on doing it myself, that's a lot of different information from a lot of different people how do i know what's correct for me? see where i'm coming from?
you seem to know what you are talking about so im asking for your help with this matter!
If you are going to have a go at installing yourself, read this thread:
ThreadHelp Correctly Aligning My 1.2M Channel Master Dish and moteck H-H180 motorHi People so i need Help Correctly Aligning My 1.2M Channel Master Dish and moteck H-H180 motor, if you can help that be great thanks, my location is kings lynn norfolk (for long and lat), so my 1.2m CM (Channel Master) satellite dish is ground mounted to a pole and base, (see my attached pics showing how it currently looks),
please help me understand what im doing wrong, i need to align it to Thor 0.8w first so it can track the arc, i currently have no signal from any satellites :(
please…The motors are very similar, the same principles apply to all installs anyways. What works for one person will not be exactly the same for another.
Take you time and read that thread in its entirety, despite several members spending a lot of there time, explaining everything in great detail the OP became abusive and was banned, however everything you need to know is there.
ok ok thanks, just wondering what the correct angles are thats all (like what number is the motor at for 0.8w), i wont post any of my details here for obvious reasons but my setup should be the same as his due to the fact im not that far away from this person!
i would like your explanation please @jenseneverest, that post sounds to confusing really so much different information there, so i'm here asking for your help if you don't mind Sir
I put it all up myself and part aligned it but got somebody else to finish getting tracking on the arc. Ive took the scaffold down now so i cant take pictures, Besides my angles will be different to yours. I put my el angle at around 37.8 if that helps. Declination...i used a meter to peak the signal on 0.8w.
ok thanks, shame you dont have a close up picture, are you not able to climb the ladders to take pictures?
to me it looks like 0.8w is on the right side of your motor correct?
looking at the back of your dish it looks like its on the right side not the left, please confirm?

can you remember what number your motor is pointing to ? as there isn't a 0.8 on the motor what's the closest number its at??
It was satsuk but a different member, he has another one for sale but he has just reconditioned it ready for sale. Thinking of buying it as a spare.

Display MoreHey guys, i decided to get back into the Satellite scene after a while and wanted to share my install which i completed today. Just took me a day alone getting the positions into my V-Box using an Alsat GBox but run into issues, finally realised it was the Alsat at fault so switched it out with a Moteck i just managed to buy and all went well in the end.
Currently tracking 53E - 30W, some positions are duff around the arc so i think i have over 30 good stored positions.
So my gear is as follows:
VU+ Ultimo 4K [1TB]
Moteck V-Box [99 Memories]
Jaeger SMR 1224 36v Motor [Brand new]
Channel Master 1.2m Dish
Inverto Twin c120 LNB
Raven Feedhorn
3m 76mm Pole Galvanised & Triple Powder Coated
X2 450mm Standoff Wallmounts Galvanised & Triple Powder Coated
OpenBH v5.3.016
Ive never installed a system before so I purchased the scaffold to install the dish, i managed to get it on 0.8w and round to 39e but then had problems trying to track the arc properly so bowed out and called in someone to do it due to back problems and patience issues :D
I took some pics along the way so i hope you like them.
awesome set up, where did you buy your Jaeger SMR 1224 36v Motor from please? looks awesome
