i stuck my card in the original box and it was saying wrong box for the card. i rang them up and they said it could be because the box hadn't had power ( not had power for 2 years that box).
you can pair it up to the box again and it will work.

Yes but what type of box it wont be a drx box you need to be more specific before people that are not sure do the wrong thing thinking any box or do you mean family pack only after pairing it again its not clear

Pari you are brave if you decide to skip some of the emm and they are the wrong ones and you try write them after in a possible different order to how they arrived , this might give you issues also you can possibly finish your card before sly ,let us know how you get on as im a very interested in the outcome and make sure you have researched to know what emm is good or bad , its catch 22 no point in panic just yet as not enough cases its like the choice of option A cancer but you can possibly be cured ,or option B commit suicide because you dont want chemotherapy and suffering

Carmine ive never seen a difference ever and I did installs for a good while , its like when you paid a fortune for oxygen free scart leads for crt tvs i never saw anything there it might be possible that it makes an odds with super hd but we havent got there yet , i think itll be the feel good factor knowing you paid a fortune for a lead and convincing yourself its better , nano might be able to elaborate more as he is more in the know with installs these days

Every so often when using CCcam the video will stutter...I'm thinking it's because of latency. Is there a way to somehow delay playback a little bit to create a buffer so that it won't stutter, or is that not how CCcam works?
The ecm would then become invalid and would not clear the channel anyway ,i asume you are using a cline from someone else , its really down to internet ping times and the quality of the server , mainly the server in most cases

Abaaba you need to follow the motor instructions to the word with dishpointer for your co ordinated set the motor elevation scale and the dish elevation correct pick your strongest sat and with your meter move the dish left right up and down till you get the best you can ensuring that the angle shown on the stub is close to what your satellite is so if its 28e make sure its at 28 the cast line on the stub should be centre of the dishes v on the bracket ,when moving left to right by hand slacken the motor to wall mount bracket and turn on the motor with your hands not the dish as it forces thru the gears only slacken enough to get it to move ,tightening the bolts can alter your signal so keep an eye on that also , you are far from close ,if you have doubts about a tree even slight its your issue it only takes a few leaves to drop the signal , dont add degrees move the motor by hand thats what you got a meterr for ,you will not track the arc properly otherwise ,if all you co ordinates are correct and elevations you should just drive the dish to 0.8 for example move the dish left and right tilll you get the sat at best lock up and job done , the motor does everything do not skew your lnb either it needs to be square to the dish arm

drx-890c is a amstrad box buddy,thats 2 of them not a thomson box effected now i know of as the sd box even was amstrad

to be honest you are probably correct and once upon a time many years ago the card may have been inserted into the box,like you say for activation.
but i repeat this is probably a counter measure to prevent repairing and its possible that what worked for me may not work for others,if this 2nd pairing is not with the same box as they have on record for your account details.
im guessing here and this is pure speculation,but mine may have been turned on again because i supplied them with the same details that they have on record for my account.

Its not all speculation buddy they more than likely find it cheaper an easier to put messages on your screen than call and letter you to upgrade that will be fact and they are temporarily killing boxes to make you respond to upgrade requests ,however as with the icoms system on cable tv the box/card will never be active without both on the system even an incorrect serial number that is not on the sly inventory would not work there is an inventory list that gets cross checked and throws an error message on the customers service reps screen upon trying to send a hit to the box and card , they have a history of where every box has ever been and a card is user specific , putting a card into the box doesnt pair it its already paired ,as far as drx boxes the card get alterations from the box software when inserted and we now have a cs specific version of paired where people think the card has never been paired as its not been in the box ,its would be good if we could get feedback off troubled peers after trying what ian has done to see if this is whats causing the recent issues , thanks for your input Ian

Ian they know who is paired to what all your box and card details show up in your account , its physically impossible to have an active card without a box the system will not and cant send initial hits an emm without it ,so they do already know they have to BTW im not disputing what your saying so dont think that its the system setup they know

as we said b4 my card was never in original receiver so don't know how its been paired could be what Ian has said and they just turned me off
anyway got me self a tomson boxyes buddy but you are always paired to some type of box on the system you have to be , maybe not paired by placing it in the drx , but still you went off ??
