Thanks to everyone for the input. Now I feel dumb! :beat_brick: I have not had a huge amount of time to play around so far. Have a 2TB HD in a 14gig usb and the basic stuff set up.
So this will allow me to get my network shares up and running and might even move the box downstairs!

youll need to be a bit more specific as to what you have , are you talking shares like nas server or share sub to another box in the house ?If its share sub what boxes card and how far are you set up ?

Its hard to not see it that way , the way you conduct your self in here at times your more of a critic than anything else , instead of just saying to enable text support do this buddy nah ! with you its looks like the person , the finger out again , You are not much use to this forum in my opinion your just a vix parrot repeating what you hear and not understanding any of it ,and im not on any band wagon but this thread and loads of other dont look good at all for someone new in the forum they will be reluctant to ask anything , why dont you make a few vix backups and promote your software you feel so strongly about ?

looks like the person who created the backup did not enable text support.
menu> setup> system> remote control code > text support = YES then green to save.
Hmmmm suppose the next thing we will be doing wrong is not adding enabled clines in the backups , maybe you should put up a few backups of your own instead of pointing the finger try do something to help rather than be sarky

Is that all I really need to do then? When it comes to updating entitlements, I normally use my old (but trusty) TM9101 to update. Can I still do this as normal or should I update some other way? Is it still recommended to block all emm's and add white list (although not not sure how to do this)?

you will only need to update when your dates are due to expire and you have a renewal sorted as for a white list ive not used on on any card i have and every thing is working fine

so quick question the entitlements on the card are on until the final expiry and dont need updating , so if i buy a viaaccess card and share it to my box in spain on 7w i can watch channels on 13e here and 7w over there with no emm updates ever required???
that will work until your cards expiry date ,and you will get 7w if your card allows that

are you using a viaaccess card ? what is your server oscam or cccam and if oscam/cccam what is your reader in oscam or cccam ?
if oscam turn au off on the reader if its viaaccess indereto you need it on

You could try do a manual scan/single satellite and make the satellite 13e and see what you are picking up , then you will know how your dish is lined up , after that you will find all the channels in last scanned got thru them ,personally i dont think you have lined your dish correct as you were doing a rain dance with it if i remember right ,if you have an android phone or pad download enigma signal meter off google play and connect to your wifi and setup to your boxes ip address make sure open webif is on in your plugins your will get live signal readings off your phone/pad and tweak your dish youll see when you hit the best possible signal

Not sure what settings you have on the box but if you use auto bouquets maker / menu /setup /searching services you will find it there go to configure first , make setup mode expert/ set a schedule scan if you like but i leave this at no /keep all bouquets no if you want a fresh list / add provider prefix yes to make it easy if your loading other lists / press green to save then go to providers and set what you are after eg 5ky Uk West Midlands press green to save again then just scan now and itll do it for you then just reboot your box

Press the up arrow and then green for satellites and then got to 28.2e services most of the redbutton is in the begining of that selection you just need to try them and the help button on the remote will bring up the guide on buttons for you

try making tuner b your preferd tuner and see if that sorts it otherwise try another switch ? might help , make sure send diseqc on switching satellites on ok also

If you are using the latest tb vix backup solo 2 replace metrix HD skin with the standard HD night skin then upgrade fix to latest version.
Then you can put metrix hd back on
Had a similar issue updating this worked for meAre you saying the skin stopped the box updating ??
