I'm totally new to this biss keys, I returned to dish hobby after 10 year gap.

I understand biss keys can auto roll via internet. and source is someone who doing this all hardwork for us.

    Ive 3 questions

Can we open all power vu channels?
Is there any way or site that i can filter biss keys channels only to see all in one page?
What plugin I can use for max biss keys auto roll database that cover all satellites from 1 deg east to 154 deg East.

    my primary targets

    NSS 12 at 57.0°E

    Intelsat 20/36 at 68.5°E C

    ABS 2 at 75.0°E ku

    Apstar 7 at 76.5°E C

    Measat 3b/3d at 91.5°E c

    AsiaSat 7 at 105.5°E C

and all europe satellites from 4 deg west to 70 deg east KU bands.

    Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed that a lot of people are currently selling the iCone iRO Pro boxes that come with the Orca server (which supposedly opens many European satellite channels).

This made me a bit curious and concerned.

Is there any specific reason behind this trend?

    • Is the Orca server expected to stop or become unstable soon?
    • Are there issues with performance, updates, or reliability?
    • Or is it just normal reselling / upgrading to newer boxes?

I’m considering buying one, so I’d really appreciate honest feedback from people who are using or have used this setup.

    Thanks in advance!

I just upgraded from a 7.5 foot to a 10 foot and it's a HUGE difference and I'm loving the new dish! The 7.5 footer had bleed over from adjacent satellites. When you go to 10 feet it precisely picks up each satellite as the beam width is so tight it perfectly nails each bird. The 10 footer also has twice the gain over the 7.5 footer and you can see the difference in amplitude on the spectrum analyzer. Another plus having so much more gain is the Signal to Noise ratio is so much better. It seem to have helped suppressed the 5G interference I was getting. I tuned into a Columbian soccer feed that was using 3710 and it was watchable and I'm in a 5G location which is insane when you think about it.

interesting stuff. Is it motorized? If no then can you tracking fine tuning alone or need someone to assit you moving dish?

Here are the specs I have for the dish:

    • Prime focus design
    • F/D ratio: ~0.4
    • Mesh type: wire mesh / punched sheet (painted)
    • Mount: Az/El (360° az, 5–90° el)
    • Material: aluminum reflector reinforced with steel
    • Ribs: 24
    • Pointing accuracy: ±0.2°
    • Gain: ~35.5 dB (C-band)
    • Operating freq: 3.4–4.8 GHz

    It’s basically a heavy-duty cable operator style C-band dish.

    Hey everyone,

I was browsing around and saw that earth station dishes can go up to like 21 meters… and honestly started imagining what kind of crazy performance those monsters must have 😄 kind of became a fantasy to try one for a few weeks.

So I thought I’d ask people here who’ve actually used bigger dishes — maybe 4m to 8m or even larger.

Curious to hear from folks who’ve really pushed the limits on weak east fringe / low elevation satellites.

What’s the biggest dish you’ve personally tested?

    • Dish size?
    • Band (Ku / C)?
    • How much real performance gain did you see as you went bigger?

    Also wondering:

    • Is there a sweet spot where going bigger stops giving noticeable improvement?
    • At what size do returns start to diminish?

Would love to hear real-world experiences, especially with big dishes (4m to 8m and beyond), and any old stories about these “monster” setups:

    • How much difference did they actually make?
    • Any known record attempts or well-known satellite hunters who pushed huge dishes for weak signals?

    Thanks!

A dish is just a reflector with a focal point. It doesnt matter if its C band or KU band, the signal will still be reflected to that focal point and as long as you have a KU band feedhorn and LNB your good to go. It should in theory still perform the same as an 18ft dish with KU band just as it did with C band.

The only issue you might have with a dish that size is interference from nearby satellites. It might see 13E and 10E as being in the same position, it will deffo see 9E and 10E that way and if frequencies on these sats overlap you may struggle to tune in certain channels if they share the same frequencies.

Good luck in your venture, you need a lot of space and very understanding neighbours lol

Really appciate your inputs. However i think big dish have more narrow beam and it will do oppsite. It will seprate even 0.5 deg difference satellites.

Have you practically tried ku band on c band dish?

Has anyone here actually tried using a big C-band prime focus dish for weak Ku-band tracking?

I’ve got a chance to pick up an 18ft monster dish (old cable operator type, super heavy-duty, industrial-grade, excellent condition) for really cheap, and I’m seriously considering turning it into a Ku DX setup.

At the same time, in a similar budget (just a bit more), I’m also getting a 12ft Ku-band dish from JAMES company — sharing link below — but that one doesn’t look as heavy-duty or industrial-grade like the big C-band dish.

12ft Ku/Ka band Dish Antenna - Jams India - Manufacturers and Trader of Satellite Dish Antenna, Lnbs, Satellite dish antenna product, Satcom Products ,
Specification: Antenna Size 3.7 meters/12 ft. Antenna Type Parabolic Feed Type Prime Focus F/D Ratio 0.67 Focal Length 96.48-Inch Double Ribs 12 Total Ribs 36…
    www.jamsindia.com

Also for reference, similar C-band type dish:

16 ft. C-Band Dish Antenna - Jams India - Manufacturers and Trader of Satellite Dish Antenna, Lnbs, Satellite dish antenna product, Satcom Products ,
Customizations are available, suiting every budget and customer requirement.   Specification: Antenna Size 4.87 meters/16 ft. Antenna Type Parabolic Feed Type…
    www.jamsindia.com

So I’m confused between going for a huge 18ft “backyard monster” dish vs a proper 12ft Ku dish but lighter build.

    Main questions:

    • Has anyone practically used large C-band dishes (12ft / 16ft / 18ft) for Ku-band DX?
    • How does it perform on very weak signals in real life?
    • What would an 18ft C-band dish roughly equal in Ku dish size (10ft? 12ft?)
    • Is the low F/D ratio a big limitation practically, or manageable with feed setup?
    • Which would you pick for weak Ku hunting:
      → 18ft heavy-duty C-band dish
      → or 12ft Ku-band dish (JAMES)

Looking for real-world experience, especially from DX guys

    Hi everyone,

I’m considering buying the iCONE Iron Pro receiver and wanted some honest opinions from experienced users.

I’ve heard this box uses the Orka server, while some others use Forever servers. Recently, I’ve noticed a lot of people selling this receiver at a very low price (around $80), which made me a bit concerned.

    Is this happening because:

    • The server support might stop soon?
    • Or software/updates are going to end?
    • Or is there some other issue with this model?

    Right now, I already have:

    • Vu+ Zero 4K (good overall, but not great for blind scan)
    • VU is Linux boxe, and I use my own CCcam, so no issue there.

I’m only considering the iCONE Iron Pro as an additional box because of the built-in server convenience. But I’ve also heard that most “server boxes” have low-quality hardware, and only this one is considered decent (chipset, tuner, performance, etc.).

    So my main questions:

    1. Is the iCONE Iron Pro actually reliable long-term?
    2. Is Orka server stable and expected to continue?
    3. Why are so many units being sold cheaply right now?
    4. Is it worth buying in 2026, or better to stick with Linux receivers + CCcam?

Would really appreciate real user feedback before I decide.

    Thanks!

    Hi

first time linux user here. I'm using AJ panel to create bouquet manully. Is there any automated plugin to do that or any way to edit any files using FTP and automate it? I can do bit of coding using chatgtp if needed as I've used it successfully for some other tweaks. Let me know whats best way to do it. I'm uisng VU zero4k and ATV image 7.6
