    hi.

i have the jsc 1-10 card shared between my dm800 (server), my dm500 and my azbox (both clients) for over a year without any problem.

i was thinking of getting set*nta or s** sports and doing the same. i read reports of cards heating up and burning in the dreambox internal card reader.
i'm using the dm800 as the server for jsc so i was thinking of using the dm500 as the server for the new card as its a secondary box and is used very little.

do i need to get an external card reader for the dm500 or do i need to get a smago reader and use it in the dm800 to avoid the heating issue?

i have read elsewhere that using os*am and c*c*m together would solve the problem but i cant find a recent post that confirms this. (i did have this setup and working on the dm500 a while back but went back to just c*c*m when i last updated the image).

the dm800 is using blackhole image and c*c*m 214, the dm500 is using openpli and c*c*m 211. both work ok but if i needed to change the images or cams that would be no problem.
the azbox is using e2 spaze at the moment so i'm just going to use it as a client as it works ok like that as is.

latest image is out, good reports from people who have tested it.

    copied from pimps site.

Its very true that the box as delivered with the original firmware is difficult at times.

I have put enigma2 rc12 firmware on my premium plus and it is ok. The menu are identical to a Dm800. The firmware is not as stable as the vu but having used a Dm800 and had it crash and lock up a few times i couldn't say the Dm800 was that much better than an Azbox.

If you are Going to buy an Azbox be prepared to wait a while for firmware that is stable and useable. The original fw seems to be a dead loss but the e2 developments are Looking very positive.

Dont buy a premium if you want to be able to record and watch another channel at the same time, only a premium plus will allow you do this. The easy way to find out is to ask the seller what model tuner is in the box. The premium plus has a different tuner to the elite and premium models. Google will tell you the different tuner part numbers.

For a dual tuner receiver that works out of the box buy a vu, for a receiver that does 4.2.2 feeds, 1080p and should be as good as a vu in the future buy an az but be prepared to wait.

i cant get to do that right now but i will try it either later this evening or tomorrow. maybe this is why its not updating. i'll come back with the results. thanks for the info.

i dont know if this is the right section to post this but if its not feel free to move this thread.

i have an aj jazeera sport card since january. it was supposed to be for channels 1-10 but only 1-8 are working.

this happened a few weeks ago as well but when i took it from a dm800 and put it in a dm500 9 and 10 came back and lasted for about 2-3 days after i put it back into the dm800.

both boxes are using the exact same config file.

when i look at the entitlements section of cccam i can see the last two lines are:

    Chid 0002 - date 0x1019 valid 0x63
    Chid 0004 - date 0x1019 valid 0xfe

is there a way to tell how long the card will last from the info above or is there another way to find out when the card will expire? also is one line above related to 1-8 and the other to 9 and 10 and is this why 9-10 aren't working (ie its a card for 1-8 only)?

    thanks.

thanks for that, once it doesnt affect the share i'm not too bothered.

i noticed tonight that my ip address (client ip) has changed again. this is the 3rd change this week so maybe this was part of the problem. cant get a static from the internet provider so i'll just have to put up with it or change provider.

the dm800 server running cccam shows my dm500 cccam client as being connected for over 4000 days even though i've only had it running successfully since january.

even if i disconnect and reconnect it shows the same.

i dont know if its anything to do with it but i've had a few droupouts this evening.

the server is dm800 running cccam 2.14 and client is dm500 running 2.21 (had oscam running on it but it dropped out so i thought it was an oscam problem)

    picture below

just got it to work. it is going ok for the last half an hour from the cccam server.

what i was doing wrong was in the reader configuration section of the oscam webif. when setting up the reader i was putting in the caid (0603), ident(0603:000001) and putting in the services as jsc and jsc!. as soon as i deleted these fields the picture came up and hasn't gone off since. the caid and ident sections must only need to be used if you are sharing a local card.

one thing i found out is that you don't need to set up a user account if you are using dvbapi to view the channels. i have disabled the all the user configs in oscam and its working perfect. i assume that if i wanted to use cccam to view the channels i would need to enable one of the user accounts.

happy days its working ok anyway. i thought i had taken out the offending fields before but i was deleting and inserting loads of things before so it was hard to track what i was doing or what was working.

Did you get this sorted ?

    regards

    t

no i didn't get a chance to do anything with it since as i was working late.

i've since read that i don't need to run oscam in the client boxes, only in the server that is reading the card, so as cccam is working perfectly at the moment i'm going to leave well enough alone.

i'll give it a bit more time the next time i go at it.

thanks for the replies and the help.

i'll try that later on this evening and post the results.

just having a quick look, the reader config you have posted is for reading the card from the internal card reader whereas i am trying to set up oscam to be a client of an existing cccam server. the problem i have is that the client connects to the card ok but it doesn't clear channels.

    thanks for the reply

i put oscam on my dm500.

reading all the tutorials i could find i got config files setup so oscam could be a client of cccam 2.1.4 on a dm800.

i managed to get oscam to connect to the server and show up as connected.

then i tried to use dvbapi as the softcam on the dm500 but nothing was coming from the server so no channels cleared.

then i setup cccam to be a client of oscam on the dm500 using an n line. still nothing came from the server.

i enabled cccam as the client on the dm500 and straight away up came the picture, and as soon as i put oscam going again picture was gone again.

a few hours at this last night and i gave up.

is there a problem with irdeto cards in oscam? because according to the oscam wiki it should work.

i've included a picture of what the oscam webif showed, its a modified picture as i couldn't get a proper screenshot but it has all the info in it that i could remember.

the oscam build i used was 4920 if that makes any difference

one other thing is that the caid:srvid never changes from 0000:0000 on the third line (reader line) whereas in other pictures of the webif i have seen this would have the caid of the channed like in line five of the picture ie 0603:20f6

seems to be fairly similar to rc11 according to reports, no major problems but int card reader doesn't work yet.

did you try using the web tv option? i have a dm500 using pli image and it works perfectly. it opens up in a new browser window and i think i had too let it install a plugin.
i was even able to watch a 4.2.2 feed last week when there was no picture on the tv.

my mate has a dm800 and the web tv wouldn't work on the gemini image that came with it but he now has dreamelite and i think it works ok.

i'm sure theres other ways of streaming but this works fine for me.

    final update.

i got it going again. it was the usb to serial that was the problem.

i found my old usb to serial lead and tried it but it didnt even register as being connected.

i also had a belkin usb to serial and i tried it, and it worked on the second attempt. it used the same driver as the first adapter which used to heat up.

i got open pli back onto it and its working fine so i'm leaving well enough alone.

    thanks for the help.
