Could it be a teletxt hard of hearing service, try the black buttons at the top left of the remote (under the tv power button , think it may be the first one to the left of the av button)

Tested it here, and gives me the same results your seeing on vix image.
Press button to the left of av button on vu remote, scroll down to DVB English, press ok (you may need to do this twice as subtitles seem to toggle between white, then white with black surround, then off)

I've seen it first hand, entitlements still valid`(mid december) but unable to clear anything with red card (movies/sports pack without bt/eir).
Oscam will still read the card entitlements but no requests are sent to it.
Boxid the same but "no matching reader error" (only one reader with only one group)
Repairing sorted the friends server out as when he inserted his card into the official receiver, he got the error "not the right card for the receiver etc.."
A bit more than a coincidence since others are reporting the same occurrence.
Not too sure exactly what's happening but something seems afoot and looks like a staged roll-out.
Maybe a way of them keeping the card in official receivers but unsure at this point.

Re-pairing to your receiver should solve the problem.

This is only a bootloader, it only takes a second or two to flash.
I think your problem may be your image as vix don't officially support this receiver (most likely a ported/modified image intended for another officially supported receiver)
When you upgraded the image, that's where the issue may have arose.
Try flashing a new image (atv officially support this receiver and is very similar to vix) or alternatively just reflash the original vix image that came with the receiver but disable the online update option.

The oscam.server file needs to have your line details in it, the one posted is only an example:

Just an update with my friends setup (pc with oscam )
Card needed re-pairing to official HD receiver which sorted it (onscreen wrong card message on receiver)
Same HD receiver that was issued with the (red) card but he didn't have the eir/BT pack and before re-pairing took place, all entitlements were in date till the end of Dec.

Whats your setup, pc/receiver/oscam/cccam rev?

Something similar happened on my friends server this morning ("no matching reader" on all requests)
Red card paired to hd receiver and won't open anything.
He's running oscam 11225 and has told me all was fine up to this morning.
I haven't had a chance to look yet but he says all was fine until this morning and he hasn't adjusted / amended anything, only tried a restart.

Openvix don't do an official image for the zgemma range of receivers.
It's most likely a ported version of the max digital xp1000 image.
To get full support for plugins, try a different image (atv do one which is very similar to vix, go to image/firmware tab at top of page, select atv and select airdigital and pick your model)
Remember to backup your configs before flashing a new image.

It'll could possibly show up as multiple logins from the one user account (line).

Both are very good but the xtrend has the option of swapping out a tuner.
That said, the solo2 can accommodate a usb dvb-t tuner for freeview (as probably the xtrend will also), has a bit more spec over the xtrend (ram, gigabit ethernet port etc..)
It's all down to budget at the end of the day as both receivers will get you to where you want to be.
Support/image wise though, the solo2 has the edge.

If you just want to convert your line details for use in oscam, use this handy tool.

Paste in your line details into the top window, select your line type and hit convert.
Copy all that appears in bottom window and ftp it to your oscam.server file.

Open a browser on your pc, receiver ip:8888 (eg: 192.168.x.x:8888)
That should bring it up.

What's the oscam log telling you?
Is oscam reading your card?
What receiver is it, does it have 2 card slots , the configs from that thread you linked (device = /dev/sci0) require the card to be inserted into the upper reader.
Is another softcam (cccam) running also (softcam manager will tell you) , if so, try stopping it.
