Probably a little bit paranoid, especially if it's only family/friends, but you never know.
I'd be more concerned with people getting into my network than isp's prying eyes.
After all, there will be a port or two open.

On the home page, scroll down to the section that closely fits your problem (eg: oscam problems goes into oscam support etc)
Top of the sections is a tab for "new thread", click on it to start a new thread.
Try to provide as much info about your problem as you can.
Have a read in the relevant section for the answer to your query first though (as most common faq's have been asked and answered already) or alternatively, use the search bar, top right of the page, (beside "kodi/wetek" tab) it will search for matching queries within the site. -

You could try xorion bootlogo maker.
http://linuxsat-support.com/sh…852-Xorion-BootLogo-Maker
Let us know if it works for you. -
I'll upgrade my image in the coming days and test then (working away from home at the moment).
Thanks for the time your putting into this. -
Not working I'm afraid.
Just backdrop, no boot video.
This is the version I'm currently running:All that's showing is backdrops, no boot video.
Tried normal ipk installation and forced ipk installation via putty.
Restarted via gui and hard reboot via rocker switch. -
+1 for solo2.
I've had it for over 2 years and is super.
Also have the duo2 which is great but is nearly twice the size as the solo2 but performance is on par with it.
If you've no interest in the lcd screen on duo2 (a bit of a gimmick imo) and probably have no interest in adding tuners then the solo2 is the job.
Huge support and a cracking machine. -
Looks like you need to get the screwdriver out so.
You could just bridge/link it out for now and use switch on socket (if it has one) for main power until you source a replacement.
Disconnect from mains before bridging/linking it out.
If it has a warranty still, send it back to supplier. -
Some routers are capable of updating your dns with ip change.
Which one have you?
Also, what are you running your server on, pc or receiver and which dns service are you using?
No-ip have a linux duc installationQuote
Dyn updater for linux,Quote -
What system are you running (oscam on pc or rceiver etc)
From your screenshots, looks like your using a pc (debian os x64)
If so, have a look in the directory usr/local/etc for your config files. -

Got a brand new octagon FS8 Sat box for sale, it has never ever had an image installed on it,
It's not brand new , (although not used according to you) has no warranty, are your prepared to provide one?Quotelooking for £90, that is including p&p...paypal gift or bank transfer please
Too expensive in relation to whats available for similar money (with warranty) in todays market.QuoteThe sponsor offers a similar box, edision os mini for £79..
But according to you:Quotesuperior box the Octagon [ imo ] especially running VIX on it..
I beg to differ.
I've had both more or less (max-digital xp100 and currently have the combo version of the edision)
There is a vast gap between them.
sf8 has 500hz processor, 512 ram, 128 mbs flash (although bootloader will increase it to 750hz)
Os-mini has 742 hz dual core processor, 512 ram, 512mbs flash, bluetooth and wifi onboard and can be flashed free of charge from wos:
http://www.world-of-satellite.…/Edision-os-mini-dvb-s-s2
It's a no brainer
The edision is faster and runs vix every bit as good as the max digital i had. (imo.)
For what your offering, £60 is a generous price.
My opinion is that anyone interested in it at the price your requesting should steer clear and buy the os-mini.
I really do hope you sell it but at the price your asking, you have to be realistic about what's on offer in todays market, especially with an included warranty.
3 years ago, yeah, you'd have gotten the asking price but I doubt you'll get it now tbh. -
It's one of the steps when your initially installing ubuntu.
Not sure how to install it on an existing installation.- - - Updated - - -
You could try the "apt-get install" route but haven't tried it myself.
I just started from scratch when I had my issue. -
Have a look here for tutorials on how to flash your zgemma:

I had a similar experience when I installed 16.04.1.
Oscam would start, show everyone offline then would stop.
I traced it back to not installing all the system requirements.
I needed to select both of the options in this screen below , (standard system utilities is selected by default , I made the mistake of de-selecting it first time round)
Its been running fine for me for the past few days.

Have you tried adding your pc's hdd as a network mount (mount manager)?
Have a look under network browser, it should locate it if your pc is in the same network. -
Images can be got from here:
http://linuxsat-support.com/view.php?pg=zgemma
or here:
http://linuxsat-support.com/fo…p/1149-ZGemma-Star-Images
A lot of images don't come with cams though.
A relatively easy way to install cams is from our addons panel:
http://linuxsat-support.com/sh…php/112243-Linuxsat-Panel
FTP the ipk to temp folder and install it through the receivers menu (varies from image to image)
The panel should then show up in plugins or main menu.
Cams / configs/ channel lists/ picons/ boot logos etc.. can then be got from it and installed on your zgemma. -

Sounds like you have dish/cable issues.
Double check satellite cable connections at the rear of your receiver and at dish.
If you can get hold of another receiver to double check or a meter would tell you for sure.
